  • VMware vCenter Orchestrator Configuration problem

    Hi guys,.

My company has just installed VMware vCenter Orchestrator and we try to create a new host to vCenter server with version 5.0.1.

Can someone point me to documentation that shows me how to configure the web page in the print screen attached?  Or can someone please tell me what is needed in the empty fields, etc.?  When we try to enter info, we get alerts of service of red light of the vCenter Server tab and the tab startup options.  Both give us a red circle indicating a problem.

    Thank you!

A free IP address? Oh... No, this plugin configuration is not actually CREATE a vCenter for you, it allows you to configure the vCO to speak to an EXISTING vCenter server you must already have a server vCenter configuration somewhere and you must use the FULL domain name or address IP of this server in this configuration.

  • VMware orchestrator configuration problem: LDAP

    Hello guys,.

I connect our HOV to our AD domain and I get the following errors:

    • LDAP connection successful but no users found. Check LDAP paths.

    • Found admin group / OR = Users, DC = systec.local

any of you encountered this error?

    Kind regards

When you use the integrated AD cases, you use CN = Users, not OU = users, given that Microsoft has used a different object than the organization unit type.

  • vCenter / Orchestrator configuration problem

    Hello

While the implementation of vCenter Server and Orchestrator configuration, I had trouble to finish. I am not able to find any user who is a member of the Group of Directors vCO to fill the Plug-ins section which is necessary to Boot Options. The other Orcestrator server cannot run to add a user in the Administration Group (assuming that this is the place that it should be done) wihout fill first the Startup Options section in the Web Configuration.

The back Orchestrator Installation and Configuration Guide not clearly how do a user member of the management group until the administrator has started, however, it says "enter the credentials of a user who is a member of the group administrator Orchestrator." I tried the default user (vmware), the user I set up in the pub for vCenter Server service running and the local administrator, but he keeps giving the error «Bad credentials for the installation of the plugin.» "Unable connect user: vCenter, unknown user.

Any help is appreciated how go about this situation.

    Hi Martell,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with the configuration.

Let me see if I could erase this until relations are here.

    1. the user name that you used to connect to the Configurator is not related to any configuration in the configurator.

    2. the user of the plugin in the plugin name must be in the ad group that you specified in the LDAP tab under group admin vCO.  Here is my config of the sample for the vCO admin group: "CN = vco - admin, CN = Users, DC = pm - vco, DC = local.

I guess that if you add the service account used by running vCenter Server to the group admin vCO listed above you will be ok.

Let us know if it works.

  • Replace the vCenter without redoing the vRanger connection configuration?

    Hi all

Experimenting with the new device of VMware vCenter, I ran into a problem with vRanger connection.  I disconnected a host of our existing facility of vCenter and added successfully to the new VCSA.  I also added the new VCSA vRanger connection configuration.  vRanger connection sees the new vCenter, as well as the ESXi host on the new vCenter.

The problem I see is that jobs do not now for the virtual machines on the host has moved.  I can see the jobs tab in my work, but when I try to run one of them, he fails almost instantly:

Inventory [vm-11529] node is on a disconnected virtual circuit:

The work is no longer present in my inventory tab, under the virtual machine in question (I have individual tasks for each virtual computer).  Is there a way to retarget 'with' the new vCenter without having to set up new jobs for each virtual computer after migration?  My concerns are the time to set up 30 + new jobs, the possibility of having to do a backup complete out of sequence, and our peripheral dedupe (ExaGrid) see this new backup as a new source of backup, causing the backup to break chain and forcing the use of the double the hard drive space on our ExaGrids until our retention period is completely recycled (3-4 months).

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Judge Quinn

    Quinn,

Let me be clear. Now your ESX hosts are managed by VCSA, and this one has its own new database. In this case, all the stored in the configuration store object ID is invalid. I'm not familiar with VCSA yet, but if it works with VMware PowerCLI, you should be able to get new IDS and update InventoryNodeVirtualizationObjectId in the BackupTemplateTask table.

Here is a PowerCLI procedure to get new VM ID. It works with regular, not sure of VCSA VC.

  • Error connecting to the server by using the Client VMware vCenter

When you attempt to connect to vCenter server using vSphere client, I get this message:

"a general error has occurred: authorize the exception."

However, if I log on the vCenter server locally and use a local Windows account in vSphere Client to connect to vCenter Server on the same computer - it works OK.

There is obviously a problem with what happens when you use active directory to authenticate a user who connects with the VMware vCenter server client.

Someone has seen this before or have any ideas?

    Thank you

I had a similar problem on two different sites

    1. It was my firewall local windows on my Windows 7 desktop that it has prevented from work

Our web customer support is for vSphere 5.5 only. Please make sure it's the version of vCenter that you run.

"If you are on 5.5 check if there are two plugin files in C:/ProgramData/VMware/vSphere Web Client/vc-packages/vsphere-client-serenity /" If there is, we have seen that removing the oldest file and restarting the blank Server fixed this issue.

  • I did a stupid thing: I suspended "vmware vCenter Server Appliance" and now I can't connect to it more

    Hello

First some info on our system. We have a group of three hypervisors and a few terabytes of storage on two devices of Synology. VCenter Server allows us to control everything. This vCenter is accessible via a dedicated ip address. Then I opened my 5.5 vSphere client on my workstation, check the name and credentials of the vCenter and hup I can admin everything.

Now, what I did with my sleepy head? I suspended the so-called "unit of vmware vcenter server. And my vsphere client lost my connection with the server vCenter Server immediately.

    I can't ping this address ip-plus.

I'm afraid that ssh is disabled.

Installed on virtual machines seemed well-oiled, I can access it by using RDP. So no worries for employees using them.

So I would like to be able to restart this device "vmware vcenter server" but I don't know how to do it.

All useful ideas would be nice.

And Yes, it's a really stupid mistake.

    Thank you

    Paul

Point your client vSphere host your vCenter ON VM's.  You can then start the VM vCenter.

  • LDAP Configuration problem - BEEP in a deployment of OBIEE

    All,
I have an OBIEE 11 g (11.1.1.6.0), including environmental BI Publisher put in place. I have successfully completed the integration of OBIEE with LDAP and LDAP ID user can connect you with the Group/privilege information is applied as announced. BI Publisher, however, is not so cooperative. Here's what I have:

As part of the LDAP configuration, I replaced the BISystemUser id with a user based on LDAP, ADBISystemUser id. However, whenever someone tries to connect, they get the error message * "[53012]" user authentication failed: adbisystemuser "*." The BIP newspaper shows this same message, preceded by the message * "[nQSError: 43113] Message returned by OBIS." * I know with certainty that this user id is configured correctly - OBIEE users are able to connect, and my LDAP browser is able to connect using these credentials.

At RANDOM, I have the Administration-> Security page configured as follows:

Local superuser: enabled (this is the only way I can connect now)

Authentication: authentication UNIQUE not selected; Use LDAP selected and the correct LDAP, id, password etc entered configuration settings.

Authorization: security model = BI Server and the correct settings for this entry (entry in the installation, no change)

I searched nQSError 43113 and 53012 and validated different suggestions I've seen without success. I can't tell you how many times I rebooted services. I have reset the GUID, verified passwords/accounts are locked out, tested and retested in BEEP passwords match those of LDAP. The only thing that worked (sort of), was when I jumped LDAP protocol for authentication and set up LDAP for authorization (3rd section on the Administration-> Security Page). When it is configured for LDAP, the BEEP was able to bind to LDAP and users could connect. Unfortunately, given that we were not BI server authorization, users could not see the folders, or they would avoid data sources or report objects. What do we have this test was to confirm that BEEP pourrait LDAP access. It is not the way I need to do.

The last thing I tried was to adbisystemuser id in LDAP so that it lay in the same "folder" as all my users instead of a folder, separate service accounts. Even this was not useful. I implemented the XMLP * groups, even though I do not expect that these are referenced. The id adbisystemuser is a member of XMLP_ADMIN, and users have been added to the XMLP_DEVELOPER group, for what it's worth.

Suggestions or recommendations on how to get the BEEP if authenticate to LDAP would be really appreciated!

    Thank you!
    Eric

    Eric,

In my setup, I use Fusion Middleware as a model of security and everything seems to work.

In the documentation model Oracle BI Server is Legacy only:

5.2 integration with Oracle BI Server Security
The security option Oracle BI Server is for customers who want to use the authentication of the legacy of 10g. This section does not apply if you set up Oracle Fusion Middleware security.

  • VMware Vcenter Converter cannot connect

I'm under VMware Vcenter Converter. I'm trying to convert a physical machine in virtual. In step 2, 'Specify the Destination' it says "unable to recognize the version or the server type when connecting to the host"the door"

    What now?

For 'destination', select 'VMWare Workstation or another VMWare virtual machine', and then for the product "VMWare Server 2.x.  The 'destination' for a virtual machine to not ESX (not infrastructure) type is just folder on a local drive or share of newwork.  So yes, you can use a USB drive or eSATA connected on your local machine.

I'm guessing that you choose 'VMWare Infrastructure' as your destination, which is not the right choice for a destination to Server2.

(BTW, part of the reason why you can't find answers is to post the same thing in several areas just makes it difficult for people to know what has already been said.  Then you need to repeat your information and answers repeatedly, you did not.  And you have only been posting for one day.  Patience patience, grasshopper.  Not everyone is on the forums of every minute of every day.  The person looking for the answer couldn't read your post for the next few days.)

  • VmWare Workstation 6.5.1 - local network configuration problem

    Hi guys!

I have a server with 2 lan card hardware. First of all in the DMZ (10.10.10.X) and the second in LAN (192.68.100.X)

I started 3 virtual machine with Windows 2003 server.

SERVER (PDC): 1 Lan (in Lan) cards

SERVER B (SQL): 2 Lan (Lan 1, 1 private SERVER C network) card

C (WEB) SERVER: 2 lan card (1 in the DMZ, in private network with SERVER B 1)

    I create 1 BRIDGE with VMNet0, 1 lan private VMNet2

The problem is when I put the lan card 2 in the same group lan becouse ServerB VMNet2 not ping server C (I test the ping with the installation of DHCP and the static IP... but nothing!)

What I see, your DMZ network is connected to VMnet2:

Regarding your screenshot of the VMWare Virtual Network editor VMnet2 is connected to the Broadcom and your first post regarding your host has a NETWORK card in the local network (192.168.100.0) and the other in the demilitarized zone (10.10.10.0). --> VMNet2is is connected to your local network or demilitarized zone (that is why I needed the ipconfig host as well, but you don't post it).

I guess the Broadcom's DMZ for now.

This means that if VMnet2 is considered to be the DMZ with 192.168.200.0 (look at Server C) which do not function as it relates to the Broadcom with 10.10.10.0.

    Server c:

He must have a card in the demilitarized zone (on the name) who has an IP address of 192.168.200.2. It does not not 10.10.10.x? If this is the adapter that uses VMnet2 which does not work.

    ServerB:

Server B seems to have the correct IP addresses, but it has no way to reach C because it has no address of 192.168.200.x.

If you really want to have a private connection (no DMZ) between B and C, private by VMnet1 card and use the IPS that VMware provides for this network.

I guess you want like this:

    LAN (192.168.100.0) - B - VMnet1 (private/host-only/192.168.200.0)---C---DMZ (via VMnet2 jumpered to Broadcom 10.10.10.0)

I have a VMware vCenter Converter problem! I downloaded it and it now resides in the "Finder" as an .exe file, but it's all text! When I open it, the caption at the top says it cannot be run in DOS mode.
