  Specifically, the section "Enhanced customization.  You can use the custom.yml file to make the change permanent.  In summary, the steps are:

  1. Connect to the administration server.
  2. sudo mkdir/opt/vmware/vio/custom Pei
  3. sudo cp /var/lib/vio/ansible/custom/custom.yml.sample /opt/vmware/vio/custom/custom.yml
  4. Edit the file custom.yml and uncomment the line "ldap_user_filter".  Add the desired value.
  5. Save the changes to the file.
  6. sudo viocli - v deployment configuration

• Number of certificate when you upgrade to 2.0.1

  In our VIO environment I had to change the VC certificate earlier. To operate the VIO again, I added the new certificate to /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt on the controller * and compute nodes. This works as expected.

  Now I would upgrade to 2.0.1 and it seems that, through this process, the installation routine replaces the etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt files, so it stops with an error. I could get around this with the addition of the VC certificate at the right time to /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt (after that it gets replaced).

  It seems that a 'configure deployment viocli' don't even replace.

  So my question is: where on the administration server are the certificates that configuration process pushes towards the other nodes? I would set it at the root level, not that I run into this problem again.

  Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I could now implement the new certificate in the custom.yml:

  -convert the VC certificate: cat vc - cert.crt | Base64 w 0

  -Add this string in the file /opt/vmware/vio/custom/custom.yml: vcenter_certificate:... (see the Release Notes for VMware OpenStack integrated 2.0.1)

  -Run 'configure the deployment of viocli - v.

• Problem of external network (Client)

  After the transfer of my "production" environment, I am facing a problem with the external network (not API).

  On my lab environment it works fine, but on the production environment something strange happens: the machine can be put into service, but sometimes he gets 'customization' Openstack, sometimes not.

  Reading your post, I understand that you have 2 numbers:

  Problem with the metadata service (give the host name):

  Communication to the metadata service works like this:

  

  Can you do some tests for me.

  1 test VXLAN connectivity between the ESXi-Compute (hosting your VM of Instance OpenStack) and the edge of ESXi (hosting your logical shared edge router)

  Ping ++ netstack = vxlan x.x.x.x (to test the connectivity of your IP)

  Ping ++ netstack = vxlan d s 1570 x.x.x.x (to test the MTU on the physical fabric is 1600 or greater)

  Note: x.x.x.x is the remote IP of VXLAN ESXi @.

  If this test does not work, then your VM can speak to its default gateway correctly.

  If this test does NOT work, then it is probably a problem with the physical fabric (VLAN misconfigured or MTU misconfigured).

  2 validate connectivity VLAN between the edge of ESXi (hosting your edge of metadata) and ESXi-Mgt (hosting your LoadBalancer VIO)

  . SSH to the VIO - WHO

  . then make a SSH for balancing load-VIO ssh loadbalancer01

  . can do a ping to Metadata Edge1 ping x.x.x.x (ping should fail, BUT you should see an ARP entry for that IP @: arp - na)

  Note: You can find the Edge Mgt IP metadata @ under edition of the edge metadata_proxy_router_xxx NSX and its uplink interface checking.

  If this test does not work, your edge of metadata can talk to VIO load balancing.

  If this test does NOT work, then it's probably a problem with the Mgt ESXi and ESXi points not to the same port of Mgt group.

  Problem with the external network:

  You validate people can talk to the VM floating IP @?

  If this isn't the case, it is probably because the edge of ESXi (hosting your logical shared edge router) is not on the right VLAN.

  I tried to mix the two real esxi hosts mixed with esxi embedded to meet the needs of the guests... and maybe I could have configured something wrong in the network.

  Then I saw a post where affinity rules could be changed by editing the file /opt/vmware/vio/etc/omjs.properties change false to true oms.disable_hosts_anti_affinity.

  In doing so I could use only two real esxi hosts, using one in each of the two groups that are needed.

  Me parece that o Veeam cried each backup snapshots na hora back, me ate preocupei com isso, isso pode topar POIS o disco Board host, POIS bem, o clients esta reclamando than a VM Windows Server 2008 ja travou 3 vezes e so volta ele, o Vmware reinicia desliga quando e liga a VM again, o client notou than no momento than VM trava , e visto no vSphere client a mensagem "Instant withdrawal", for 92% em não sai dai, then ocorre o travamento e.

  10.0.0.64 is the source IP address of the physical machine. I have other physical servers on the network with the same configuration or similar, I have no problem with their conversion.

  HM, looking more carefully at the newspaper these lines are strange:

  I do not have this file in my RHEL5, but my guess is tar fails because of this. Other messages of tar are ignoring sockets unix which is not a problem. So, do you have idea what this file is, it is currently in use, can you stop the creative process or just restart with no logging at the moment of conversion?

• Add Standalone workflow fails...

  I'm clearly missing something in what concerns the use Orchestrator and hope I can a little nudge in the right direction.

  I tried to add a stand-alone ESXi 4.1 host to vCenter Server. The workflow for adding a stand-alone host (Workflows > vCenter > host management > recording > Add standalone host) fails everytime I try to use it. The error message I see is:

  "AddStandaloneHost_Task" task error: the authenticity of the host SSL certificate is not verified. (Name of the dynamic Script Module: vim3WaitTaskEnd #20)

  I can't find out where to install the host SSL certificate. This error refers to the vCenter Server SSL certificate or the ESXi host SSL certificate?

  New installation: 2 ESXi, VMware ESX. Currently 2 DCs, AD 2003 vm. There are the new 2008 physical dedicated server for backup with Ribbon attached.

  BackupExec software is not yet installed.

  1. what will be the best placement of vCenter. Server backup that should be running BackupExec software or virtual machine?

  2. it is advisable for all to place vCenter with BackupExec (with SQL server) on the physical machine?

  3 - is a good idea to assign the role of DC (2008 AD) on a physical server with BackupExec?

  Please specify each response with advantages and disadvantages.

  If you have no license limitation, I suggest to have dedicated VM for DCs, DHCP and vCenter Server.

  DNS servers can stay with the domain controllers.

  On your backup server, you can have a physical DC on it (I see this solution several times).

  But if you virtual AD leasts two DC on different hosts, so it isn't really needed.

  Don't forget, the VM helper (according to its IP address and where it is connected within vSphere) must be able to communicate with the system physical source via SSH.
