VMware Workstation control comments CPU clock can accelerate?

Hi users of VMware Workstation.

I have a unique case to solve which requires to control the CPU clock speed in the comments. Specifically, I need to slow down a 1.5 MHz less than 500 MHz processor. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance,

t

Slow down a 1.5 MHz processor? Wow Yeh yeh ok typo I understand it's 1.5 GHz.

Can you tell us what you are trying to reach? Maybe there is another solution to your problem.

My problem is compounded by the fact that I've upgraded to VMware 7 and added several virtual Win7 64 virtual machines at the same time so I don't know what (or who) is causing the problem.

I have 2 host computers running Windows XP 64 and VMware 7.  Firewall is turned off on all real and virtual computers and antivirus software disabled to facilitate debugging.

I can 'see' host an extra to my network of machines, but I can't connect any virtual machine (Win XP 64 or Windows 7 64) to the drives or folders in a. host Virtual Machines of all the flavors to host B (as can host B himself) can connect to drives and folders in host A or B computers.

I'm really confused, because it is a new problem in a network that worked without problem for a long time.

AVG should be ok.  Other AV problems even if 'disabled '.

I'll try to disable settings NIC "unloading" next Monday (it's my wifes computer and I'm sure you can guess the rest).

Not to be pedantic, but you mention that it would be temporary disabling.  What happens if this does not resolve the problem, what I won't give in now the settings?

Give you up to a tiny fraction of one percent of time processor, because your host CPU would be checksums compensable package instead of the card NETWORK adapter.  Any difference would be unnoticable on a modern desktop computer.

If a new NETWORK adapter driver becomes available, you can always try which allows once again to see if the new driver fixes it.  Even if a newer version of the workstation out.

Unless you install will do a physical examination and under normal circumstances, we should not have to burn an ISO Image of an optical medium to install it on a Virtual Machine and to do so arbitrarily to install in a virtual machine is kind of insane!   I nor Darius have a problem installing the ISO Image and admission of the chinaski007 has not bothered to validate it against the checksum published then in the circumstances, it is probably a corrupt image or user of any kind error.

Do not confuse this thread with your ISO is a URL so that it would be nice because I find it very interesting to note that if your serious about a DVD image was a valid ISO Image and would not start image but optical media of this picture, I would like to know where the fault lies as she is certainly an anomaly in the standard boot image.

  • What is the fastest way to convert VMWare workstation VM of ESXi?

    Hello

Was curious to know what is the quickest way to convert a VMWare workstation VM to a VM compatible ESXi. Is the method of standalone converter VMWare at the following ADDRESS of the faster method:

    http://www.networkinghowtos.com/HOWTO/convert-virtual-machine-VMware-Workstation-ESXi-vSphere/

Or is the method below faster? The method below mentions converter standalone is required for Workstation 8 VM but did not mention if it is needed for Workstation 8 AND HIGHER VM (ie: 9 and 10 workstation).

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1012258

My ultimate goal is to export on a USB key and then import on the ESXi instead of convert and copy it to the network server. I'm exporting to my 3 TB USB would be faster than the copy of the virtual machine on the network. Thoughts?

I think the second is the best option VMware KB: export of VMS in VMware Workstation to ESX/ESXi

As you can see you can export the VM and after import on the EXS (do not use personalization)

But uf you have Vmware Workstation 8 or higher, you can connect to the ESX Server and move the machine. If you are in the same local network and do it at a time of low workload, it would be the best option.

  • Vmrun can be used to remotely control the vmware workstation?

    Hello

I have VMWare WorkStation installed 10.0.1 on a Windows machine 7 Professional 64-bit. I created a few virtual machines using this workstation. Can I control these virtual machines from another machine (say Windows7 another machine or machine Ubuntu) using vmrun?

I went through the help of vmrun and some discussions on the forums, but all the current point of execution vmrun against a local workstation or a remote server.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Ravi

It looks like VC ESXi and VMware Server (discontinued) are what can be managed remotely.

I just ssh into the host and run vmrun like that.  On a host Windows use OpenSSH for Windows.

  • 2.04 Ubuntu comments on VMware Workstation 9 under Win7 can't see ext4 USB drive

Comments from 2.04 Ubuntu on VMware Workstation 9 under Win7: on computer A trivially, I connected to an out-of-the-box 64 GB USB drive formatted for VFAT on Ubuntu in a VM. I re-init'ed the player for ext4 (mkfs.ext4), mounted, drop a bunch of stuff on him (which took awhile), he dismounted and walked away. The next day, identically configured computer B, I inserted the USB key. Natch, Win7 may not go up because it does not ext4. But Ubuntu don't see either, so I can't be installed. Do not see under removable devices, no small icon bottom left of the screen of VMware, nothing in the settings menus or properties, etc. I think it's just me being a noob to VMware, but it seems that Ubuntu under VMware Workstation 9 cannot see the drive unless Win7 can go up. Seems unlikely. KB searching, Googling, etc. produce many unrelated things. Ideas? AdvTHANKSance.

Here is the final answer: works great on an earlier version of VMware Workstation 9 on one of the Windows 7 of my client machines, it didn't work on my Windows 7 computer. I upgraded to VMware Workstation 10 on my Windows 7 computer, and now it works perfectly. If I call you this a bug in this version later 9 which was set at 10. Could also be had I simply uninstalled 9 and reinstalled which would have fixed it too. But I'll never know.
