  I was wondering if someone can help me. I have a Qosmio G30-161 and I encounter a few problems with it right now, every time I close the top of the laptop and leave it for about half an hour that I reopen the form and I get a black screen with a running scroll bar downstairs with the message saying "Resuming Windows to troubleshoot with windows press anyone." I let the scroll bar run its course and it goes back to the screen where it was before I close the lid. Can someone help me this is driving me crazy having to wait for the roll bar all the time, it has only recently begun.

  I also have a problem concerning the closing of windows Explorer. Whenever I do this I get an error message "Error 217", this all started when I installed Norton Anti virus, I uninstalled this product and the problem resolved, I reinstalled norton and the problem came back.

• How to capture a video from a home made dvd to use to create a video edited with Windows Movie Maker

  I have a DVD made home to a sporting event that my son has played in. I'm trying to get the DVD video in a file on my PC so that I can use it with Windows Movie Maker. I know how to create and edit a video on movie maker, but I can't seem to figure out how to capture video from this DVD. It is probably a 'rookie' question, but I couldn't find what I needed by using 'help' or 'search', so I hope someone in this forum can tell me how to do this.

  If you're running Vista Home Premium or Ultimate, you can
  be able to import files into Movie Maker directly from the
  DVD... the files you want are in the VIDEO_TS folder and have
  a VOB extension.

  When you insert the DVD in your DVD player... close
  all the windows that can open and then go to... Start /.
  Computer... right click the icon for the DVD player
  is in, and then select Explorer.

  The files you need from the DVD are the. VOB files.
  You will find them in the VIDEO_TS folder. Copy them
  in a folder on your hard drive.

  First... just try to rename one of the. VOB files to
  . MPG or .avi and see if it will matter in Movie Maker.
  If import works... drag the file to the timeline and
  Economy/publication it to .wmv or .avi format. Then...
  Re - import new video film for editing purposes.

  (FWIW... you can probably play the files renamed
  in Windows Media Player to be sure that VOB
  file to edit)

  If you are unable to import the files they need to be converted
  another .wmv format would be a good choice.

  When the file is converted, you should find it in...
  Program Files / eRightSoft / Super / exit.

• Intuit quicken does not print the black font with Windows 8.1

  When I print the reports from Quicken 2008 on my HP 4500 Wireless printer, only major titles that have shadows and text print.  (the red numbers can also print in red).  Reports printing OK on another printer.   Before installing I would recommend to uninstall snack, there are still old software on the computer. Uninstalling the printer software.

  Then I would clean the computer starts. How to perform a boot in Windowsand to use the printer HP install wizard for Windows. If the printer HP install wizard for Windows does not then download software driver full of features with the first link I provided.

  Two thoughts...

  (1) you may have a problem with audio / music which is not
  fully compatible with Movie Maker. The best choice of audio.
  music formats would be .wma or .wav.

  (2) the addition of transitions between the photos will reduce the picture
  duration with overlap.

• Problem with Windows Mail recovered messages

  I have Vista Home Edition with Windows Mail.  After having a problem with my posts a few weeks ago (which is resolved) whenever I open it Windows mail an additional set of vacuum retrieved message folders appear.  I now have dozens of repeated games.  Just delete them in the local file lists only removes them until I have reopen Windows Mail.  Does anyone know how I can delete them?  Please help me.

  There are few options that you might want to try to solve the problem.

  Reset Windows Mail, wait for it to complete the recovery process
  Go to Tools Options-->
  On the Advanced tab, click Maintenance
  Click the clear now button and click Reset
  In addition, check the box where it says compact the database..., give the number 1.
  Close and restart Windows Mail
  Go back and check the option Compact back to about 50 races.

  I understand that you have a problem of black screen with Windows 8 and the drive letter for the partition of Windows 8 is also changed. This problem is due to the use of the third party partition manager program because it affects the registry files and causes the instability of the system.

  Try to run auto repair from the Windows recovery environment and check if that helps.

  Method 1: start the recovery environment with installation of Windows 8 media.

  It is another way to boot the PC and launch recovery tools when something goes wrong with the operating system.

  Please follow the steps below. Insert the DVD to install Windows 8 on DVD-ROM and restart your computer.

  (a) once you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or the system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.

  (b) select the good time and the type of keyboard .

  (c) click on repair your computer in the lower left corner.

  (d) select Troubleshooting to Choose an option screen.
