  I think the 256 character limit is a red herring.  All data is there, the front-end integrator is truncating only for display purposes.

  Your data is a string, it should certainly be classified as a string in the metadata.  For a long time is for numeric values.

  I don't think there is a problem here, if you were to write this data to the trash or a text file (after reading it in), you will see that your data is not truncated.

It was created to "work offline". This former DC has since died, but the XP machine is still trying to synchronize with him whenever he disconnects or connects.

I have an old HP laptop that they do not send to restore the disc more (I don't know yet I had one; his old laptop from my brother) and I have an installation disc for my new PC. I have a Windows XP Home edition SP2 installation disc. However, as the hard drive of my laptop broke down, I don't know what version of windows it was. I think it should have been an OEM version and the sticker says it was Windows XP Home Edition.

  Now, anyway I tried to install my installation on laptop computer disc, offering series of laptop computer but now it asks me to activate. Will it work if I activate it?

  Unless you are lucky enough to know someone who has a generic OEM drive, which you can borrow, I don't see a practical solution for you.  I advise you to spend the money to buy one, even if you could find one to buy from a reliable source (not eBay!).  Although a generic OEM disc should work with your product key, there is no guarantee that it will work with your product key.

  If your laptop can be retrieved through a restore partition, and you can't borrow a disc that will work with your product key, then you have pretty much exhausted all reasonable or practical options.

  I finally did! I borrowed a copy of a generic OEM drive, through activation and it is!

Say now, I returned the drive OEM back (don't want to make an illegal copy) and want to be able to use my current system installed to generate a system disk that will allow me to avoid all the problems I've had up to now.   I live in France and I have the same problem with the Xperia for Windows companion software. I bought the new XA Xperia a week ago. I connected with USB on my computer, I started companion Xperia and I launched the backup point. I selected all the boxes (documents, contacts, photos, videos, music). The backup process took several hours (4 hours precisely) and stopped at about 50% without any error message. So I cancelled the process of backup at this stage.

  I tried a new backup process by selecting only 'music' backup piece (I 314 music this cost 1.3 GB on the Xperia XA) and here, it worked and the backup process took about 5 minutes and finished.

  So, there's a big problem with the companion software when all the boxes of the savepoint are checked.

  It depends on how you got the map features.  Mapfeatures are usually stored in the cache.  If a change in database may not appear in the card immediately.  If, however, given the characteristics of the map as a vectorlayer, then simple vector update updates map.  You should consider two options with regard to the update database process.  You can store the geometry as a function that is updated on the fly as change attributes of database, or you may use a database trigger to update the geometry when the attributes change.  Thus, using a combination of correct space architecture and mapviewer correct functions.

  There are several ways to achieve this. Perhaps the simplest is to simply catch Exception as std::exception const &, or one of its derivatives, then call what(). However, if you want to use the specific exception hierarchy richer consistency, you can get the equivalent of the what() result by calling getDescription()-> getCString(). With regard to the rankings largely what types of exceptions are "fatal", which would be RuntimeException and its derivatives, but the scope which it was caught in general is going to be more telling.
