VPN connects for 15-20 seconds then steadily declining.
I have an XP laptop and an update of XP for desktop Windows 7. The XP laptop I can configure a PPTP vpn to my workplace connection, and the connection is stable and reliable.
Now on my family windows7 premium 32 bit system, I can create a PPTP vpn, no problem, it connects and logs and I can ping the server and the server shows me on one of the ports. But 15 to 20 seconds later I am began the connection. The waiter told my connection on the client side. So I plug it back and I get exactly the same thing over and over again. But when I try with XP laptop I don't have these problems.
Since XP works and 7 does not work, I have excluded the server and my firewall device as potential problems since these are constants. The only variable is the computer of windows 7. So I tried on a second windows 7, I have at home, my wife newly improved system and I got the same results, 15-20 seconds of connection time and then disconnected.
Looking for some ideas here, I can't work remotely right now because of this problem.
None of this helps, here's what the solution is for other people using DLink routers (personally, I have the DGL-4500).
For some reason any in windows 7 the router will drop the VPN every 20 seconds. I first thought that maybe it's because the lesser known port IP 47 which most people forget. So I created a rule IP 47 under Advanced, virtual server port. I put in 'other' Protocol and typed in the 47 and makes on my local machine.
The other thing I did was in the settings of the firewall, i unchecked down where it says PPTS and IPSec for the checkboxes are now disabled. You expect that who they are by default under audit would be the way to go but apparently not.
At least with those two changes, I can now PPTP vpn with windows 7 without letting down.

original title: video editing
When im trying to add a family film about the Director of windows it is not not all there, he's going for about 20 seconds, then on the next image. How can I see the video in its entirety, but long, so I can change it to what I want?
What is the extension of the home movie file?
Windows Movie Maker doesn't accept the formats of files (extensions) following:
Video files: ".asf", ".avi", ".dvr-ms", ".m1v", ".mp2", ".mp2v", ".mpe", ".mpeg", ".mpg", ".mpv2", '.wm' and '.wmv '.
* Extennsion file or the file format is represented by the last 3 letters of the file.
If the file format of your home theater is not on the list above, google for a FREE video converter and a change in WMV format. Then re - import to Movie maker.
WMV is the most reliable and foolproof format for Windows.

Original title: help - csvhost.exe and problems to start
My sons laptop has problems - try to turn on and it would maintain a black screen for a few seconds and then turned off and turn and repeat until I've done a hard stop. I am able to navigate to the top after repeated attempts. I could take a quick and complete hard drive test and it passed... Finally, I restored to factory and spent the last 8 hours going through the update process. It works fine and restart without problems until recently - I followed the instructions to reboot to perform an update, but he had served in the "shutting down" mode for almost an hour I did a firm hard down. It took a few attempts so he could begin after that, and when I did I had a message on the svchost.exe and thought that might have something to with him... found a site that has a download that is supposed to fix errors and am curious if that is recommended or whether there is another solution or possible make my misfortunes. The site is: http://www.exe-error-advisor.com/svchost-exe. I don't know what's happening - the computer works very well when it turns - to be fair, I did also made an update of "HP Total Care Advisor" who has nothing and after I rebooted I could not make it work... "HP Advisor has stopped working"
Any ideas or advice?replied in the other thread

For example, while I am typing my computer freezes for a few seconds and I can't type or will not move the mouse. This lasts a few seconds but then starts to work again ok. This happens on every 10 minutes or so... enough to get on my nerves, especially at the time of the school. How can I fix? I also get a pop-up whenever I go to a new page. How can I stop this as well? I'd be so grateful for any help on this matter.
Thanks, Elsie
Hello
What the popup say or lead?
Search for malware, and then run the cleaning as described below.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
cause. No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean. It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run
the regular windows when you can.Download malwarebytes and scan with it, run MRT and add Prevx to be sure that he is gone.

Hello
1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
2. what security software is installed on the computer?
3. have you made changes on the computer recently?
Method 1.
Press the windows key and check if that helps.
On the keyboard, press CTRL + ESC to open the Start menu.
Method 2.
Start the computer in safe mode and check if that helps.
Advanced startup options (including safe mode): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
Method 3.
Ry Tyour computer to start clean and control state if the same problem occurs. Tuning your system to start in mode minimum state helps to identify third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.
Method 4.
You can run the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.
Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

Klondike Solitaire FREEZES on my RT Surface for a FEW SECONDS THEN REPREND AGAIN
When I play Klondike Solitaire on my RT Surface, all a few minutes it will hesitate or freeze momentarily. When this happens, the screen become completely insensitive for usually one to several seconds, then resumed as if nothing had happened. If I had typed on the spot of deal - example (upper-left), three cards could pause to two cards, then back and deal with the third. The taps on the screen during a freeze appear to be ignored.
I tried to use the Task Manager to find the associated activity changes, but saw nothing obvious. I suspected possible interaction network of Xbox, but even with the RT in airplane mode (all networks off) made no difference.
I don't see clear indications that other people have similar problems.
Any suggestions?
/kenw
I never managed to get in touch with support game people - Microsoft seems to want to insist that I sign for Xbox - which I don't have and certainly have no interest.
However, seems Klondike was last updated solves the problem, if it I assume that there is a bug someone he knew and fixed. would have been nice if they had documented it...

Server 2012r2 changes the time for a few seconds, then changes back
I have a windows 2012r2 server that points to our DC for NTP, the domain controller points to time.windows.com. Every 2 months or more, the 2012r2 server will change its time 4 hours back (5 if we're on DST) then a few seconds later, it will change to the correct time.
The domain controller never changes time. This time change blocks processes sometimes and they don't come until I manually restart them.
No idea what could cause this change soon?
Thank you
Travis

T61 feeds for a few seconds then dies
Last night, I started to have a problem with my T61 (model widescreen 7664-14, 1 "). I was working on it when he's completely lost power - and all the lights, including the witness of the hands, went.
I unplugged, removed the battery and then reconnected it - the power supply light is relit, but when I tried to return in less than one second everything then dead again.
I tried a few times-it doesn't seem to "forget" the error condition until I completely cut off the power, that is to unplug the unit and remove the battery. Once I did, I can the starts again, either with power outlet, or only to batteries, but soon it dies again. Time to failure lasts - the longest was about 15 seconds, it is to halfway through boot in Windows before you stop. But generally, the light only for less than a second before it stops.
Can anyone suggest what may be the problem or how I investigate further?
Thank you
Jonathan Dan SumptionI had it solved - turns out it was still under warranty (I had not yet realized), Lenovo took in & (I think) replaced the motherboard.
