VPN design tips

I usually deal with issues of LAN/WAN, but have very little experience with the design of the VPN. I would like to know if I have the right idea or if there is a better solution to target.

Scenario:

There is a staff with two remote offices. Remote offices have 10 to 20 people each with little or no planned growth and different firewall solutions. HQ has 40-50 people anticipating exceptional growth and a PIX 515E. The manager would like to remote offices and remote access VPN site to site VPN for the traveler. His biggest concern is the speed through the site to site tunnels.

My solution:

Place a hub routers of the 800 series with sets of features VPN and firewalls and VPN 3005 behind the PIX to HQ in remote controls.

This seems sufficient? Other recommendations?

No I don't think so. This should be good only for the 515.

  • Double firewall, config VPN design question?

    All,

I'm looking to implement a design of double firewall with different suppliers, i.e. Cisco at the front and another seller behind that. The Cisco ASA will manage the ends of the VPN. It's a design recommended to us.

The reason was the front towards the firewall (cisco) will block most of the noise, and then the second firwall will make inspection of the IPS etc. Apparently, this is also done incase there are vulnerabilities with the first provider. The DMZ interface will in fact come the second firewall.

I am currently working, what if all remote users terminate their VPN at the edge of the ASAs, what is the best way have to move towards the second firwall, then again on the internet so we can apply the policy to users / and inspection?

There are no facilities on the front to ASAs IPS inspection, just a bog without visibility L7 stock Firewall (as this responsibility will lie with the second firewall).

Looking for information so that I can start looking...

  • Redundant VPN design

    Hi all

I need a solution for this implementation:

    2 sites

2 internet connections each site (different suppliers)

    1 ASA in each site

I need a config that allows me to have redundant VPN connections from one site to the other. I need to have a VPN using the, say, internet connection A of site 1 and internet connection from site 2 and if the internet connection A of site 1 goes down the VPN connect by using the internet connection B from site 1 to site 2 A internet connection. This must be done without user intervention.

If I can't do it with the ASA which can use to achieve this scenario? Another router (2900), a kind of load balancing?

I would like to use the ASA because I have a lot of inbound NAT configured and keeping addresses public IP on the SAA outside interface would be great.

    Thank you, best regards.

    Yes.

You can apply the same card encryption on both interfaces.

Also... If you have multiple VPN peers, they end on the same card encryption as well.

If you for example need many VPN Site to Site tunnels, you create a single card encryption with sequence numbers different to accept VPN connections.

  • Design tips that uses less ink to paper thin?

Hi guys, I'm designing something that must be printed inkjet on paper 50 # 24 x 26 inches. I tested about 30 newspaper # using a HP deskjet printer and worked find in DRAFT mode. However, for the production we use a Designjet z2100. Even the completely quality slider to the left, it is still too much ink.

How would we go the printer using less ink speech?

    Adjust the opacity? or?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

You're going to need profile and calibrate limit "of ink" of your RIP.  If your RIP doesn't have a profile for this substrate, you get one or the do it yourself (xRite colorimeter and something like "Proof" application-Monaco.  You may be able to obtain a profile of the paper manufacturer.

  • Can not on the button while loop

Hi all... hoping to get a few design tips as I am very, very new to LabVIEW. I got a project that someone else had started and I've encountered a problem that I don't know how to solve.

I'm using LabVIEW version 8.0.1 and I think my problem has to do with the help of DAQmx in a while loop. In "Working.vi" (including the Sub - VI 'Temp data to CSV.vi'), I copied - and stuck the while loop in a vacuum VI for testing. In this VI, with nothing else, it works - slowly, but it works.

In the real VI, I can see the data of temperature updated every 4 seconds, so I know that the program is not frozen or something like that. However, by pressing the button "Return to main Menu" does nothing - the image of the button does not show that it is to be depressed, regardless of how many times you click or click and hold the button. I've attached a screenshot of the while loop inside the real VI; I prefer not to fix the real VI (especially because it contains references to many of the Subvi, and it is not currently contained within a LAW degree).

I'm this coding the wrong way? I have the feeling that it might be caused by my settings DAQmx (continuous samples, 2 samples to read, 250 mHz). The very low rate would be the cause? Is there a better way to have readings of temperature taken every 4 seconds (approximately)?

You have your case of event the value "lock the front panel" until full?  If so, then no other presses the button will be recognized until the ongoing case event complete.

It is never a good idea to have a code in an event business that takes a long time to run.  It will make your UI seems to lag or even functional.  Any time I see someone with a while loop inside a case of the event, I'm afraid.  (By the way, I am also concerned all nodes comments hovering over the structure of your event?  What are doing?  Why some operate on the default data?)

In general, events should take is no longer running then what ordinary person could be expected until they feel like the user interface is delayed.  Perhaps at the top of 1-2 seconds.  You should look at a model of design of producer/consumer with events.  The structure of your event should respond to UI events, then pass orders by a queue path to the part of your program that does the real work.

  • Creating an image of style star?

I have a small question of Photoshop, I am modest to the PS, but I'm stumped on this. I'm looking to make a graph similar to this style? Something similar.

So far, I googled 'Starburst' but I got this link http://www.wkydd.com/index.php/blog/58-how-to-create-a-retro-Sunburst-in-Photoshop

    and this: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/graphic-design-tips-how-to-draw-pixie-dust-effect-in-photosho p - nb /

Close the two sortof, and I've played around with the settings but don't understand well either to look quite right. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.mimislogo.jpg

The first tutorial that you access is the key. If you go back, and put your star through the polar coordinates filter [polar to rectangular], you get this:

So what you want to start with. Looks like blurry with a gradient stripes pattern, although I think that the gradient and the color purple was added after rectangular to polar, as was probably the full box above, since sometimes you can get moiré near the Center.

Other things to try to throw into the mix are the wind and linear motion of filters blur.

Hi guys, Im just intend to make of the things listed below, but I don't know if adobe would allow me todo so.

Or maybe I need to have some kind of permission. I really need your answer guys please help!

I'm only using plan individual Photoshop Photography

    1. I intend to sell the book of graphic design tips, and I wonder if I can put a lot of demonstration of Photoshop or screenshots in the book, in a legal way.

because I've seen many authors of book out there, they have some of the screenshots of photoshop demonstration included in their books on graphic design.

    2. can I legally to sell this book in PDF format on my site and make money out of it?

    3. I also wonder if I can legally sell my own Photoshop tools such as brushes, shapes, text effects, etc. of my Web site and earn money from it.

I saw some websites, in doing so, they sell a lot of Photoshop tools for $20 and more.

    4. can I make free Photoshop on youtube tutorials legally?, just to bring visitors to my site.

    5. How about running an affiliate program for these products, is it legal for me todo so?

You can put the screenshots in a book that you plan to sell, but also sell your own custom brushes and presets. A lot of people do. You can make free youtube videos too. I don't know what you mean by affiliate program.

    Hello

I'm Steve Harris of MuseThemes.com - Thank you for advising me of this problem through the support forum (http://support.musethemes.com) MuseThemes.

This looks like a classic case of 'overlapping elements' causing weird layout changes on publish.  I actually covered a similar question in a sort of post blog back in October 2011 (link below, Tip #3)
    http://www.Muse-themes.com/blogs/News/4232972-top-5-Adobe-Muse-design-tips-and-tricks

To sum up the blog post, what I would say is to try to group all your items in the file of Muse.  We took a careful review the code generates Muse, and it seems as grouping items (select items > right-click > Group) will actually wrap them up in a "div" tag, which acts as a container to hold the content together.  We have fixed countless situations of this kind of grouping together blocks of content (images & text) to prevent them from spending on export.

As a customer of MuseThemes.com, our support team would be happy to have a look at your Muse working file to find a solution.  Feel free to send our way in the MuseThemes support portal.

    See you soon,.

  • How files and the appropriate label color PMS separate for screen printing

    Hello

I have to present a document Illustrator for a silkscreen t-shirt and instructions ask that I have "label own PMS color you expect the ink on the finished design." I don't know what that means, and even less how to do it. I googled and it seems to have something to do with the Pantone colours, but I couldn't find how to do this. The design is all one color, so I hope it helps me! In addition, it requires separate Illustrator files. I know this means separate into layers, but it does not design in layers. If I submit to the eps format does it matter that it's all in a single layer?

Could someone please help me with some details on this?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Mary

.. .the instructions ask that «label own PMS colours...» I don't know what that means...

This is an example of so-called 'experts' in the various industries of printing using inaccurate terminology that confuses potential customers, even when they are ostensibly trying to provide instruction.

PMS stands for Pantone Matching System. PANTONE is a company that produces for commercial offset printing inks, and who publishes books swatch for these inks and color specifications. Because it has long been the player prevailing in this market for a very long before the general public graphic computers, he took the habit as a sort of de facto "standard" transmission of the colors you want. But isn't the only such system Pantone.

To my knowledge, Pantone does not even produce screen printing inks (which are more like a painting, really). When people throw around the 'PMS' and 'Pantone' words like that, they often reveal their own misunderstanding of what really is Pantone. In all likelihood, the silkscreen that you use think Pantone Matching System is a kind of a standard universal color. They will most likely find the Pantone color number give you them, then either look at a reference or simply manually mix their screen printing inks for a match.

... I googled and it seems to have something to do with the Pantone colours, but I couldn't find how do...

In most screen printing, your concern is to use spot colors in your design rather than process colors. PANTONE product specifications of colors for fairer inks spot. It produces references to the four-color, metallic inks and even fluorescent inks and inks. Different Pantone standards are represented in Illustrator as 'Libraries of nuances', which are accessible via the drop down Swatch palette menu.

You can set any Color Swatch you use Illustrator as a spot color. When you do so, all this means is that, when the file is printed as color separations, each spot color is printed on its own plate of separation. "Plate" is a throwback term that refers to the plate on which are the images for individual inks in commercial offset printing. Silkscreen, a separate screen is built to carry the image for each ink used in the design.

You can also name any Spot color swatch you define, using any name you want. The name has no functional effect on the printed result. Each plate separation of color is a black image, regardless. The actual color is determined by the actual ink that is loaded in the press (or serigraphy) when it is printed. That's why, when you are working in a program such as Illustrator for a project to print, you should not think in terms of inks, in terms of colors.

For example: you can define a Spot color swatch in Illustrator. It can be set to display any color you want. You don't want to, of course, but in the interest of explanation, assume that you set the Spot color swatch to display in Illustrator as a green color. Then, you name than Swatch "Pantone 185", which is actually a red. If you now print the file as color separations to a PostScript printer (or "print" to PDF separate colors), everything to which you applied the named Swatch "Pantone 185" will be printed on a single sheet (or page PDF).» This sheet contains a picture in black and will be titled "Pantone 185.

Actually, when you work with a local display store, I usually create tones color chart, and references to name them not according to Pantone (or other), but in the name of the actual brand of screen inks that will use the screen shop.

So, really, your screen printer is just requiring you to build your design using a limited number of color swatches, with each defined as a spot color. He's still implying that you must name your swatches Spot according to the numbers of colors in the Pantone Matching System, simply because it is the library for the most familiar to designers color naming.

The easiest way to do so is, for every ink that you want to print on the T-shirt:

    1. go in the Swatches palette flyout menu.

    2. select open Swatch Library > color books > Pantone Solid Coated (or solid Pantone unpaved; it isn't really very important to screen printing).

3 scroll through the list and select the color you want. It will be added to the list of the nuances of your document.

The design is all one color, so I hope it helps me.

As someone else said, because your design is one color, you could simply design using the black one and then tell the silkscreen what color ink to use. But there are some caveats.

You must print the as a composite file (normal, full color), not as separations. It is because if you simply use a shade that appears black on your screen, that swatch 'black' may in fact be built on a combination of RGB or CMYK values (depending on the colors in your document). To print separations colors can not result in a solid black on the black plate image. It goes same for design tips by using just one color. If you want the ink to be red, and you want to design using red, then red Swatch must be defined as a spot color. Otherwise, print as red as separations or composite will not give a solid black image.

In addition, it requires separate Illustrator files.

Once again, unclear. There is no such thing as a "separate Illustrator file." Any Illustrator file can be printed (or saved as PDF) as a color-separations. Once again, that the printer must be clear here, it is that you build your Illustrator file so that it can be printed as separations, with each split corresponding to an ink that is responsible in his silkscreens. In practice, this means just be sure to use only the color tones in your work.

Yet once, this illustrates the fact that a technician working in a particular printing environment can be 'expert' in his shop, is not because he know didly on the software and the workflow used on the design front.

For stores of the most banal local screen, the safest way to prepare an Illustrator file, which leaves nothing to question is:

    1. make sure you know how much different inks are used for printing design. (Don't forget: think inks; not "color".)

2 build your design using nothing but the Spot color swatches and a Swatch for each ink. Do not use any process of nuances. In fact, recommended is to remove all the nuances that are not actually used in your design.

3 ' print' an Illustrator, Adobe PDF document as "printer." (I think that you need to have Adobe Acrobat installed in order to view a selection of the printer Adobe PDF.) I don't know, because I am never without Acrobat Professional.) In the output of the print dialog pane, specify separations, not composite.

This will result in a PDF file that contains a separate page for each ink. The image on each page will be black. That's exactly what the screen printing needs to print to 'positive film' (which nowadays are often translucent paper, not film) which it will use as masks then "burn" his screens.

... I know this means separate into layers, but I did not design it in layers...

Do not confuse with layers color separation. They are totally independent functions. Layers is just a way to organize objects that you create in your file. Color separation is a print function. It occurs when you print to a device which includes the separation of colors (e.g.: a PostScript device) or when you export to a PDF of the color separation, as described above.

It is a common misconception (miss-hypothesis) among beginners. Programs such as Illustrator may help you design with every object that is colored with ink of separation including residence in a layer that is dedicated to this particular ink, it would be absurd debilitating. Again, the layers is just a "fork" of the stack of objects in your file. These objects can be in any order on any number of layers and stacking. This has nothing to do with printing on color separations. (Stacking order comes into play when overprinting is involved, but even this does not yet require layers correspond to the inks of separation.)

If I submit to the eps format does it matter that it's all in a single layer?

EPS does not help. Think EPS is nothing but a file format that puts the contents of your Illustrator file in a 'black box' so that it can be "passed through" to the printer by programs that do not understand PostScript. If the content of your Illustrator file is built to target printing method, it will be the content of the EPS. Today, the PDF is more flexible and easier to work with than BPA anyway.

  • Tip out easily - place 8 Stylus Pro is a design feature?

    All the:

I have this new stylus on my new Dell coming 8 Pro Tablet and I am generally satisfied.  When I got the pen, I was a bit surprised initially that the tip out just with no real strength.  I assumed it was just a bad design and there's a risk that I took to be an early adopter - to be able to provide feedback on the bad designs.  But before giving feedback to Dell, can anyone else confirm that the tip is supposed indeed to come out right, or if it is fixed in place somehow.

    Thank you

So I finally got someone to Dell to give me a yes/no answer and the answer is: Yes - the stylus is designed for the tip be replaceable - this is normal it is removable by simple finger pressure.  So the message for all of us should be very careful with the stylus - it will easily come out if he gets hooked on the fabric, the elastic loop on the case, etc.  I have a smell of a forthcoming replacement parts market
