vRA7 DNS mix, connected to the internet

Hey all,.

Internet not quite face, again. But the issue is around the same topic. I read Internet facing vRA: some considerations - viktorious.nl - virtualization and Cloud Management but that seems obsolete (not all apply to vRA 7)

Basically, I plan to deploy vRA in medium-sized environment, as shown here: https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/products/vCloud/vRealize-Automation-6x-Reference-Architecture.pdf

If I followed the guides each machine vra, infra, dem, agent get local dns name (example: company.local). However, if I create certificates for what they are not confidence in my field.

"I want to be able to publish the user interface under my real domain like"vra.cloud.mydomain.com").

so I wonder what machines should I put in the local domain, and that the parts in area official (so that I have the chance to publish on the internet as well at a later stage)

I guess it would be nice to have two devices of vRA in my area and the VIP for load balancing.

Get single cert for those (no use)

Everything could stay in ".local"? with certificates self-signed?

I checked the installation guide and the guide of load balancer, but I couldn't find more information on this and I can't believe I'm the only one who does not want to have _tout_ in .local?

Am I missing something here? Any notice or advice would be greatly appreciated. in vCloud Director it was fairly simple because it I could leave all at .local in UI set up public addresses.

Kalli

In fact, everything you need is for the cert match your name. I put CN to be your public face, with the installation of SAN for local domain names.

In theory, all you need is the VIP of the devices to be public facing now.

  • DNS error - IE cannot connect to the Internet - Windows XP SP1 :(

I'm trying to help my brother. We have a Dell Dimension 3000 running Windows XP SP1. The computer has a virus, and a clean installation was completed. That is why, it is show SP1 now that those were records. Everything seems to be OK until trying to connect to the Internet (there's currently IE6). From message which can not find the DNS server.

I've done several things already including cleaning winsock and winsock2 and reinstall TCP/IP. Manager of network devices is here. I get a ping to the IP address 169.meta XXX but no ping at all outside the site.

I went into Internet Options menu. I'm lost what to try next. Help!

    Thank you.

    Joelkaghami,

Ok. Let me clarify a point. My brother lives in a different House, further away from me. I have the Dell Dimension now home trying to get updated, he had a virus and system has been reloaded. But he was only SP1. I know it will take forever to download and update the machine through dial-up and the disc, he got the ISP did not recognize IE6.

So, to help my brother, I brought the computer to my house I have a DSL network and I was going to the network it and then do the automatic updates to update the system here and then give it to him. However, I could not the computer to communicate with my network.

OK, that makes more sense to me; Please specify.

In the meantime, I downloaded the SP2, SP3 (still need to install this one as stated above) and IE8 on the site of MS. I have have updated the computer, but still can not communicate with my network. And that is why I am asking about the modem ISP connection. I thought just update with SP3 and then ship back to his house and let him try the ISP software. It might just make him go.

    Good.

In my view, sp3 includes a newer IE, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, if you want you can download the updates, and then copy them to the dell.

    1. go on a computer that can go on the internet.

    2. download the updates on the hard drive.

    3. copy the updates to the dell via USB key, cd, dvd, etc.

I am fully connected to the Internet, but when I click on my home page and even several other pages, including Windows Live Mail, I get an error message that my DNS server is not responding. How can I work around this problem and to connect to the Internet anyway?

You want to be sure that you use the right setting for your DNS server.  You can move this in your browser using the digital URL for the what you want to access web sites.  You will find them by using the PING command at the command prompt.  Hold the Windows key and press R.  Then type CMD and press ENTER.  Then enter for example to get the address of the web site of MS PING WWW.MICROSOFT.COM.

Unless otherwise directed by your Internet service provider, you want TCP/IP settings to "obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically".  To do this click Start-> Control Panel-> Network Center and sharing-> view status.

    Then click on properties.

From there, click on Internet Version 6 Protocol and properties.

Click on the two radio buttons to "obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically".  Click OK.

Then click Internet Version 4 Protocol and make the same changes in what concerns the version 6.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

I have a Dell Studio with Windows 7 Pro. I turned on my computer and I see that my without wire is connected, but I can't access the Internet. I got McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee you don't follow their procedure of fix would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated and, like other McAfee ads have since explained, the application did not refer to its database of threats correctly [and this could explain part of the variability of the symptoms of failure but all involved loss of internet connection]. Actually, I removed McAfee then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].

I had to run the removal of McAfee Development tool a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

If you do not have McAfee then Windows update than kb2705219 can also be a cause as the uninstall that appeared to solve the problem for some users [but I'm not particularly convinced by this]. He has worked in the past and now could not or never worked?

Apple routers can sometimes decide autonomously switch to bridge mode. If your cable modem is not a router, you MUST have the apple router... TC in your case DHCP and NAT mode.

If you have not done before you reset the TC at the factory and re-do the installation. Here are my recommendations.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

    The installer the TC.

Then redo the configuration of the computer that you want to use for TM using Airport utility.

    1. the use of very short names... NO APPLE RECOMMENDED names. Without the space and pure alphanumeric characters.

for example TCgen5 for the base station and the name of the TCwifi wireless.

If the wireless is still an issue defined wireless names like TC24ghz and assigned the 5 GHz other name... eg.TC5ghz.

Finally, use fixed channels in 2.4 ghz... try 11, 9 and 6, in that order.

(leave the security for a few minutes and see if that makes a difference).

For iphone and TV with problems in your Setup program ensure that the TC is NAT and DHCP... try to use a different such as google public DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

    2. use all passwords also consistent with 1. but maybe a little longer. IE 8 and 20 characters of mixed cases and numbers... no alphanumeric non-caracteres.

** 3. If the TC is router, you can ignore this point. It is only a problem when the TC is bridged.

If ensure that the TC is always the same IP address... you will need to do this on the main router using a dhcp reservation... or a bit more complex setup by using the static IP address in the TC.

Ignore this point if you don't understand it... after the return if you drop questions.

    4. be sure that IPv6 is set correctly in the computer. IE link-local only for ethernet or wireless depending on whether you are using. Car is not good enough.

Tell us which modem cable, you have, make and model please?

The TC has problems with some popular brands... one of the SB series a modem port is malfunctioning.

    Hello

    Network preferences may be damaged.

Open the Finder. In the Finder menu bar, click go > go to folder

Type or copy paste the following text:

    / Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click OK, and then move all files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the trash.

Restart your Mac. See if that makes a difference.

Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.

Then open AirPort Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilitiies

Make sure that both Internet and Extreme are green.

  • Time capsule does not connect to the Internet! Help!

I bought my own personal modem (surfboard SB6121) and activated with Comcast. I connect to my modem via an Ethernet cable and it works perfectly. But when I connect the modem to time capsule, I can't connect to the internet. I have already restored it and still nothing. The light blinks orange and 2 notification messages I get are no internet connection and no DNS server.

    anything else I can do?

Apple routers have known problems with some modems... which you have chosen the second worst... SB6141 is most noted as problematic, followed closely by SB6121.

The question is the more remarkable with the airports of model AC... If TC or AE.

The perhaps impossible question of fixing...

First of all turned off, looks that you can not be Exchange to the customer or to the router modem correctly.

When swap you from a computer directly connected to the TC you MUST turn off the modem for about 15-20 min... you do this?

    Otherwise, it's what it takes...

If you have already done this... Sorry it is simply the question of compatibility and will not work.

Are you IPv6 zone you define IPv6 properly...

When I try to connect to the internet I plugged taking LAN my slot for LAN card and when the identification process of the network in "Network and sharing Center" to the State of the connection write "Unindeficated Network" and I cannot access the internet...
And this is happen when I use automatic receives the IP parameters... ?

When I try to solve this problem with the manual configuration TCP/IP settings in the status bar indicates that I have an internet connection but when I try to open the WEB site I see the error message «...» CAN NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THE SYSTEM (DNS).

Please explain to me how to fix this...?

    P. S. The network on my other PC works normally... ? On my L300, I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 and on my other PC, I use Windows XP Pro... ? !

    Hello

Usually, the WLan router supports a range of IP addresses and everything should be set to automatic.

In my opinion, you should first check the settings of the WLan router.
Take the router manufacturer news and read the manual of the router how to set up the router.

After the router has been configured correctly, you should go to connections-> LAN (local network connection) and need to access the properties of the TCP/IP protocol.

Here, you must make sure that the IP address and DNS are set to obtain an address automatically

    That's the whole secret.
