vs17e monitor - lock OSD

When you press one of the buttons, I get the message "OSD Lockout" & the only thing I can do is turn off after you push the power button twice.  I can't access the menu or even change the volume.  Is anyway to fix this?  Help, please!  Thank you!

Some tools for calibration, as BasciColor5, offery color allows you to lock the OSD via the software (to prevent users to change brightness, etc, that break the calibartion).

Maybe it's the look/search direction. It will be useful.

BTW, another tip here was «the fix...» Hold the botton of menu on the monitor for 18 to 20 seconds will lock and unlock the OSD. »

Good bye

"OSD" is probably "On Screen Display" and is set up by your monitor itself, not your computer.  To get rid of, you can use the menu buttons and controls on your monitor.

  • Turning off Caps Lock OSD on Lenovo Z50

    Hello

I'm trying to disable the Caps Lock OSD (indicator) on my Lenovo Z50 - 75. I already looked in the display options, but I do not see the tab "on-screen Display". I managed to stop it from coming in putting an end to the "LenovoUtility" task in Task Manager, but I would like to know if there are better solutions because LenovoUtility can be used for other things that my PC may need.

The passenger ON the icon as well as when it is turned off is a default response time caps & Num lock keys. There is no customization for public services. Uninstall the utiliity would be the only way, but can affect other materials as well.

  • Annoying flashing repeat me OSD Locked. How can I remove this?

There is a small grey box that flashes and turns off my a new screen LG screen.  It says OSD LOCKED and OSD UNLOCKS.  How can I remove this?

    Hello

You did not mention the monitor LG model?

Most of the monitors will include the lock OSD (on-screen display Lock) feature that allows you to lock/unlock the screen. This is usually controlled with the monitor on the front control buttons or the side of the monitor.

I recommend that you consult the documentation provided with the monitor.

    If no
Unplug the monitor from the wall and the computer completely. Then reconnect it back and try again the menu button.

  • Just after I turn on the laptop (before that turns on Vista) I get "cannot open volume for direct access.

Just after I turn on the laptop (before Windows Vista turns on) the following message appears "cannot open volume for direct access.  What this mean and how can it be solved?

    Thank you

    Eddie

    Hi EddieLopezA,

    ·         Which version of Windows Vista is installed on your computer?

    ·         You have antivirus software on your computer?

This problem may occur if another utility or service, for example a virus check program or a program disk monitoring, locked the partition before you try to run the Chkdsk.exe or Autochk.exe utility.

I have some steps that may help you.

Method 1: I suggest you to turn off all third-party applications and check if you have a similar question.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open the start search box, type services.msc and click OK.

    2. in the Services (Local) list scroll the service concerned (for example auditor of virus or disk monitoring tool).

    3. right click on the service and select Properties.

    4. change the startup type to disabled for all applications 3rd - party that could be the cause of the blocking of Chkdsk problem.

    5. click OK/apply.

    6. restart the computer.

Method 2: If this does not help, try to change the registry value and restart the computer.

    1. click on the start search box, type regedit.

    2. in the Publisher of the registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, go to the following subkey:

    \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session manager

3 change the Boot entry run of:

autocheck autochk * /r\DosDevice\C: (or other)

    TO:

    autocheck autochk *.

Note: Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.  If you want to edit the registry to fix this I urge you to back up your registry before proceeding.

  • U2715H - 2560 x 1440 over HDMI

Does the U2715H support 2560 x 1440 hz resolution over HDMI @60? I wonder if this monitor locks the HDMI 1080 resolution.

I couldn't find a conclusive answer in the documentation.

I confirm that this monitor supports 2560 x 1440 at 60 Hz on HDMI

  • SQL Developer and is RAC aware, and not not not using global views

    Dear developers, SQL Developer ,

Since many features of s/n have been introduced in this tool - by the way, I find very well - I guess that Oracle as well target the DBA. Then, in my humble opinion, this is sad as it is not CARS abreast. I mean, as Session Monitor, lock top SQL reports, etc. should ask the global views views of (GV$) rather local (V$).

I am convinced that this will greatly enhance adoption of DBA. As it does not resemble this great change, would you consider adding to EA3? I will file an extension request.

    Kind regards
    Olivier.

    Hi Olivier,.

Adding this as a feature request is the right approach. I know at least some areas of the product already use some views of $ GV, especially in the context of view | Reports. I remember hearing a discussion about CARS-awareness recently, probably about the view. S/n, but I have no idea about any annex or the level of support.

    Kind regards

Your OSD locked problem isn't a XP problem - it's a question of monitor Dell which you can read here:

  • U2711, OSD locked?

    Hello

My menu OSD of U2711 monitor itself had locked.

Cottages had tried according to the instructions to hold key (4) for 15 seconds to unlock, but that did not work. The symbol "LOCKED" remained always on the screen.

Cottages had tried the automatic test; (4) + button (1) and the test works, so the button (4) works too.

How to do a hard reset to clear the firmware or reset the original menu and unlock?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Cheers...

Hi found the solution for the lock symbol pesky on the net, thought that I share it with you so that the solution spreads:

Hold down the two (4 + 5) down for 15 seconds. the lock symbol will "unlock" after 15 seconds exactly, and you are now able to use the OSD menu again!

Part funky, it's that this is not mentioned in textbooks of Dell U2711 (have not been able to find something about it). Found the solution via a google search
