  I'm trying to gain time to build my DR site by cloning my Production VMs on our DR site continuously, rather than on each computer virtual ground accumulate.  In total, we are talking about 80-90 mV, a mixture of Linux and Windows.  Us are currently approved for Enterprise + and have independent vcenter on our Production and DR sites, the two 5.5 running (vCenter and ESXi).  The question is, if I use vSphere replication to replicate my Prod VMs to the doctor, I can then break all ties between the VM in seed Production and use the virtual machine cloned in DR regardless?  As a follow-up question, is there a way I can run sysprep after replication automatically on the replica of VM?

  Hi Jared,

  Yes, you can use VR to create copies of the original VMs in an another server vCenter inventory.

  Once the initial full synchronization is complete, any changes to the original VMs will be replicated according to the parameters of RPO.

  Once you decide to stop replication, you can first call "Recovery Wizard" and establish the files replicated as VMs in vCenter inventory target. Power on stage is optional in the "Recovery Wizard". Please make sure that you use the last available-sync point - this will not affect the original VMs.

  After that the virtual machines 'recovered' are registered in vCenter target inventory, rehearsals will turn into "Recovered" status Then you can stop safely replication from the user interface and from that moment, there is nothing THAT VR associated virtual machines or in the user interface.

  Today, VR disconnects explicitly recovered virtual computers network cards.

  There is no integration of sysprep. You may build your own customization using Powershell or similar.

  MRS offers some customization options, but requires a separate license.

• How to download vSphere 5.1 for the Evaluation Version

  
  VMware have changed their policies to the older ISO images download?  I am trying to download a copy of vSphere Enterprise/Standard/all 5.1, but all it gives me is 5.5 and as a trial.  I don't remember how I did it, but I downloaded 5.5 a week ago without having to enter a trial period.

  After some research I find most businesses are still running vSphere 4.x and when they improve it won't to 5.0 or 5.1 if I want to download a copy for my lab at home for purposes of certification.

  Initially, I will install 5.1 practically on 10 workstation.  Once I get comfortable with it, about a month I have all the equipment to be installed on the equipment except that I'm still finalizing my plans for a physical shared storage device.

  Your advice and help would be appreciated.

  We will install vSphere v. 5 on our server here. VMware option was presented to us by the type of material which assembled yesterday our server. We watched the compatibility and everything is very well and we think it will be a good option for us.

It will probably take Tuesday at the time have raised a purchase order and paid for the license, so we thought (rather than delay this coming guy) that download us the demo version and activate the next week. I was just curious to know if anyone knows is there all the features that have been limited in the trial version? or it's just the full version with a timer on this subject?

  The evaluation contains vCenter Server, ESXi as well as operations management. Which of these components you later want/need of license, according to your needs. The binaries are always the same, regardless of which version register you. It is only the license key that locks / unlocks features.

  The binaries of ESXi are the same for all editions, it is only the license key that makes the difference. After registering for the future of vSphere, you can download all the components you need (Server, ESXi, vCenter...)

  the best thing you could do is update your test & dev / pre-production for vSphere environment 6 If you have one, provided that you check first of all the components of your server in the VMware hardware compatibility list.   One of the most interesting free tools from VMware is in my view VMware vSphere PowerCLI.

  vSphere 4 is a suite of products. vSphere client is a product of this suite.

  The host update is a utility that allows you to upgrade a vSphere (ESX or ESXi server) from one version to the other host. You don't need this if you start with the last update of the ESXi 4.0 version 2.

  Something like this is unfortunately not possible. Recovery image is not a kind of software where you can choose what software should be installed and which not.

  Dear John, worry not Norton. It can be removed easily. I did this several times on WXP and preinstalled Vista laptop.

  After the first start to choose the option uninstall a program in the control panel. It has listed all the preinstalled programs. As first remove Norton live update. When finished remove Norton software antivir himself. It is described in http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB6B01NM000ER01.htm tracking document

  I am new to VMware and learning ESXi 5.0. I built my 5.0 ESXi host and then downloaded the 5.5 vSphere client. Given that I have only one host; client vSphere 5.5 can handle that. I installed the client and enter the IP address of the host with root/configured password management. He gave the certificate WARNING said to download the files from customer support.
