vSphere 5 - images of floppy disks (read-only)?

I'm trying some config files around shuttle via floppy drive because we have not allowed our client to vpshere copy and paste.

I used the vsphere client to create an image of diskette on the local data store.

I mounted the disk.

When I access it through windows server 2008 r2, he invites me to format and fails.

I tried several format options and cannot operate. floppy images are read-only?

I'm doing something wrong?

Thank you

GD

Hmmm really don't know whether or not it creates. Can you also try to upload an image with the content and try to open it? Like this: http://download3.vmware.com/software/vmscsi-1.2.0.4.flp (for Win XP/2000 SCSI driver)

Whenever I go into the Properties uncheck the read-only attribute of my files, it won't let me, but he will return back as soon as I click on ' OK. "

I tried to change the property, as well as the opening of full control.

    I'm already administrator.

It happens even when I create new folders on my desktop. It it automatically read-only, and I am able to uncheck with him coming back after I click OK without worrying.

    Help, please.

The photos are from my phone. Open them in the image viewer and I'm just turning them using that, or good right click to rotate.

This also happens with the new cases, I create and save all the images that I have on my computer.

The images themselves are not read-only. The folder attribute is the problem.

  • From El Capitan, a DMG image file is read only

I have a Seagate external drive to Mac OS extended (journaled) format with 2 partitions. On a partition of the disk, I have an image DMG file which had read and write permissions to the title of Yosemite. Now with El Capitan, the file is read-only when I open it. But what is strange, is that when I do a "Get Info" on the queue image before I open it, it says I've read & write permission.  Then when I opened the image file, Get-Info gives me conflicting information:

    (1) it is said: "read only".

    (2) in the table, it is said to "user (me)" that permissions are "read & write".

If I try to change the permissions (after unlocking the 'Get Info' dialog box), everything is gray and I can't make changes.

I thought the problem was similar to:

Re: external hard drive read it now after update of el capitan

So I followed the 'solution' listed (used disk utility > first aid), no effect.

I also downloaded the driver Seagate-fix, but this has no effect (which I expected since mine cannot be an NTFS problem...)

    Any help appreciated.

    JIm

How is the Seagate HDD formatted?

If she is still formatted as NTFS then it is very likely that your third party necessary for writing to NTFS software is obsolete. With the El Capitan, upgrading a number of packages NTFS should be updated in order to be able to write the formatted NTFS disks.

I restored a file on a hard disk newly installed using system MS Backup tool and now it is "read only".  Anyone has a solution.  I use XP Professional sp3.  Thank you.

  • Disk is read only-no matter what I do...

I have a 2 TB AV disc which worked fine - until this week.  All of a sudden if I try to write to the disk, I get a message saying the disk is write-protected.  Check the drive, all files seem to be marked read-only.  When I change, they return immediately to be read-only.  I am an administrator and I have all permissions.  This happened right after that I ran a disk defragmentation program, but support for the program swear their software is not and cannot change the attributes of any sort, not to mention all the files in each folder on the entire disc.  Any help and thoughts appreciated - it's very frustrating!

The read-only attribute is not applicable to folders in Windows Vista. So tried to change the read-only attribute how you do doesn't help. Despite tech that said support defragmentation program, it is obvious that defragment the external hard drive has a problem. There is no reason for you to defragment an external hard drive holding nothing but the data anyway.

Try to take possession of the disc.

To take ownership of a folder (or drive):

1 right click on the file (or the disc) you want to take control and then click Properties.
    2. click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.
    3. click on modify. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    4. click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.
    5. If you want this person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects to check.
    6. click on OK

If you do not see the Security tab, then switch Mode without failure.

Alternatively, you can take possession of the car from the command line. Start an elevated command prompt.

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator". Provide the password/OK to the UAC prompt and you will now have an elevated command prompt.

For files or directories or disks (will perform action recursively):

    takeown /f directory_name /r /d [Enter]
    ICACLS nom_repertoire/grant administrators: F/t [Enter]

    or

takeown /f /r d:\ dy [Enter] (where d:\ is the correct letter of the destination drive)

Replace your username for administrators in the top line. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Hard locked read-only disk

Ive had this problem once before. I turned on my PC yesterday and my WD 500 GB hard drive (number 3) was not recognized. Then I did a reboot and the car has shown once again, HOWEVER, the reader has the read-only flag in DiskPart and disk attrib commands using clear readonly with the right selected disk does not work. DiskPart groaned just could not clear the attribute.

Any suggestions are welcome & Im ready to try anything. I doubt that it is a driver problem or a hardware problem, such that it worked very well.

All the tests in Ubuntu 10.04 (my second os) came good and I can write, so Windows 7 has done something, don't know what.

    See you soon,.

Seagate Barracuda 80 GB IDE [system drive]
    Samsung 80 GB SATA
WD Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA [the player]

Right, I stumbled upon a fix! (finally)

I hope this helps others as it has helped me.

Open the properties of the drive and goto the tab drivers

    Uninstall the driver

    Restart your PC

When it starts again, open a session and I must say that the device has been installed successfully.

Restart again (if windows doesn't tell you)

    Now its works perfectly.

  • Read only the virtual disk?

    Hello-

I have Vmware Server 2 x86_64 installed on my Hardy Heron Ubuntu 8.04.2 Server x86_64 and it seems to work very well.  I have created a virtual machine for Slackware 12.2 and put the DVD iso, Slackware in the right directory.  The virtual machine starts the DVD fine and I started the Slackware Setup.  However, when I went to set up the hard drive with cfdisk (part of the standard installation process Slackware) I noticed two things:

    1. the drive has been turned ReadOnly, so that I could not score; and

    2. I created a virtual disk of 11 GB, but in cfdisk he only appear only 4.7 GB.

What I am doing wrong?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm just guessing because I haven't worked on the software you're talking--can be the partition its display corresponds to the DVD player itself as the DVD is normally read-only and the size of the disc is 4.7 GB. .. You can check it out please.

  • Read only images - how to unlock

It's the kind of thing that drives me crazy.  Hours, I tried to open images in "bridge."  The images are all files-RAW images of the milky way (night sky) that I wash to stack, with the idea that multiple images of the night sky even will show a large detail when stacked, etc. The problem is that they are a symbol of locking of the cushion on them.  This makes them an image of 'read only '.  There is no obvious way to open these images.  Two books on photoshop provide no response in the index.  Secondly, I would like to auto - align the images, but it doesn't seem to be a way to do this in CS - 4.  Any ideas are appreciated.

Now for constructive critisim of Adobe.  Extremely expensive product that you sell, you are doing a horrible, horrible, work provide customers what they need to use the software.  Why isn't there a DVD included with the software that provides comprehensive and detailed information necessary so a question can easily answer?  Why you force your customers to your web site?  To use your web site, I had to accept your software spies, lower my security settings, deal with nonsense of password and login.  And if you don't have high speed internet, forget your site TI-loading takes forever.  I lost hours to get to this point.

And I will never buy CS5.  I'll never buy Adobe again: the frustration level is medium to high.  Someone suggests photo editing software they like better than CS4?

For read only files, go to Windows Explorer and select these files. RT-click top, and then click Properties. Down will be attributes. Is check read-only? If they are read-only (and not locked because of permissions, etc), if you uncheck the box, then the files will no longer be read-only. One of the common reasons to make them read-only, is if they were copied from a DVD or CD, although it sounds like you handled in ACR, from the original Camera RAW files. Is this correct?

For files that have been locked by some other means, there is great use, Unlocker, which should be able to unlock the files. Not necessary IF they are just read-only.

    Good luck

    Hunt

  • Error: "CHKDSK cannot continue in read-only mode" while trying to perform the disk check

: Title real: my backup is suddenly not recognized in Windows 7

A backup I use regularly is currently not recognized - I went through several pages of suggestions without deleting the instructions to format the drive. I did chkd sk/p/r suggestions with this result:

Errors found. CHKDSK cannot continue in read-only mode.

Then I tried to reassign the drive letter of the F to h: the display shows the file system is "RAW and the status is healthy, etc."  He doesn't see this as a NTFS format, even if the chkdsk identified it in this way with the correct volume lable, so I know it was to see the right player.  I almost all still on my coomputer - this backup is material that I could go back more old backup drives, but it's the best version of consolicated of my automatic backups of Win 7, so I didn't it wouldn't be pretty.  Am I out of luck?  Is this drive Kaput

and should I give up on this?

    Thank you

    Hello
I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the USB to the backup drive then try formatting the USB and check if the problem persists.

  • CD - RW will only burn the data read-only and will not format a disk

I have a laptop Latitude D610 w/a CD-RW/DVD (SCB5265) disc.  I can burn data on CD, but the data is read-only.  I can't format a drive either.  The drive itself seems to be well - do I need a different software?  If so, someone know where I can find that?

  • Apple UDIF read only compressed (bzip2) in my iMac!

I noticed a new feature added to my iMac:

    'Apple UDIF read-only compressed (Bzip2)'

What? Why? and how did get there?

    Why do I need?

I think, but not sure it was added after the last updated iTunes (version 12.1)

    No explanation will be appreciated.

    PS

It does not appear in my Finder...

    Thank you

This is the disk image to the Flash Player installer that you downloaded.

It is not mounted, so it will not be displayed in the Finder.

With it, selected as shown in the second screenshot, click on the button of the mount. Then, eject in the Finder.
