vSphere Client connection error
I am trying to open a session in one of the v4.1 ESX servers. When I connect, I get the error:
Connection error:
The query failed because the remote "IP ADDRESS" Server took too long to respond. (The order has expired because the remote server taking too long to respond.)
Error stack:
Call 'ServiceInstance.RetrieveContent' to object 'ServiceInstance"Server"IP ADDRESS"failed.
This just started happening one day. This particular server is on one VLAN different pings and are accessible via SSH and HTTPS Web site. With any computer directly connected to the Local LAN I can not connect, no matter what VLAN I'm on. I rebooted the host machine, which has not made a difference.
Now... If I VPN in I can connect to the server. that makes no sense at all.
Ideas?
Grax,
If you have access to this host for a single workstation (PC) and not on the nwtwork, I can only imagine that the problem is one of the following
- Invalid routing on your network
- A NAT rule allowing VPN would be workstation access too the local traffic of ESX, host and misdirection
- A firewall on the local network rule
- IP routing / Default gateways misconfgured
- Sort of a loop of the road on your network.
- Bad client on workstation installation (trying to install the client on another workstation on the same subnet and connectivity test)
Try to access the form of host ESX a VLAN different on your network and see if there is no consostency.
Finally, if there is no chance of it, gets the tha tcan workstation do not connect on the same subnet as the host and test ESX connectivity. If it works, your problem has to be in you config of networking.

Unable to connect to vCenter Server 5.0 using the vSphere Client - unknown error.
I am trying to connect to vCenter using vSphere client (from different computers, including the server itself) and get this:
vSphere Client could not connect to "vCenter_Server_IP_Address".
A unknown connection error has occurred. (The request has failed because of a logon failure. (Unable to connect to the remote server))I am able to connect to the host directly, but of course, can't do anything with it since the vCenter is "in da house".
There is no problem with it, not big changes and nothing indeed directly on the server vCenter (i.e. W2008r2x64) so, my confusion deepens. 5.1 ESXi

I need some help please (web Vsphere client connection problem with Vcenter)
Dear professionals
I can not connect to the server via the customer web vicenter.
I have installed and configured the following successfully:
-esxi5.5
-Win 2008 server1 (installed on AD)
-Server2 Win 2008 joined to the domain, then I installed on: sso, inventory, customer web Vsphere and vcenter server service
as you can see in the attached photos, when I double click on the client vsphere of wen I should be able to log on to the server vcenter, but I couldn't do it.
do not forget that I logged Win 2008 server2 as a domain administrator, then I installed sso, inventory, customer web Vsphere and vcenter server service
the WebClient service is runningand I tried https://server.example.com:9443 / vsphere client.
There are more than two things, I noticed:
-When I turned the web customer service I got the certificate error (see photo).
-When I typed nslookup in the domain controller I got the error message. web vsphere client error is related to the DNS error in the domain controller?
Please see the pictures attached.
Please tell me what to do if you have any idea or what is the cause of this problem.
Please let me know as soon as possible because I've stuck to that point where I can't connect to the via customer web vsphere vcenter.
Best regards
naoufl
Please register these two servers to the DNS entry field. and make sure both servers firewall set OFF mode. If the production environment please check the network connection by using the network firewall team.

Hi @all,
I want to thank my datastore on my 5.1 esxi.
When you extend the data store on the vSphere Client Console, I get the error message:
German: Call von 'HostDatastoreSystem.QueryVmfsDatastoreExtendOptions' as Objekt "ha-datastoresystem" auf fehlgeschlagen ESXi 'IP' ist.
English: Call 'HostDatastoreSystem.QueryVmfsDatastoreExtendOptions' to object "ha-store system data" in ESXi 'IP' failed
Anyone an idea why I can't extend the data store? The new drive is correctly detected.
Best regards

Hello
This seems to be a local data store. ? This is where the ESXi host is installed. ?
Thank you

VSpher client connection?
Hello
To make clear that I am a novice.
I installed, ESX5.1 (bare metal), [VCenter Server, VSphere Client and client VSphere Web]-> Windows 2008R2.
It is the second facility from scratch.
In my first attempt, when all them above were installed, when I tried to log in using VSphere client, I could use the AD ID and I think what he connecterd me to ESXi through VCenter.
In my second installation, I can connect via Vcenter using the Web client, using my username AD (ID of the administrator group). Everything works fine, I created data center and added ESXi.
However when I click on VSphere Client, it does not accept my AD account and it only accepts the ID of the root for ESXi
I don't know if this is what is supposed to happen?
So the questions:
1. in order to access ESXis using VSphere Client through VCentre, what should I do? I mentioned, that if I try to open a session using the client it does not accept AD ID
2. How can I use webclient and no client (via VCenter)
< added some information: I renamed localhost in ESX01 ESX and he joined the field in the context of troubleshooting and client NTP is configured on ESXi, not Windows 2008R2, but Jet lag is less than 30 seconds if not less >
As I said I am new, however I am giving the foregoing experience of logical explanations.
Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the communities...
I don't know if I understand your questions, I tried with my awakening in response to your questions
1. in order to access ESXis using VSphere Client through VCentre, what should I do? I mentioned, that if I try to open a session using the client it does not accept AD ID
You try to access your ESXi host or vCenter server by using AD ID?
However when I click on VSphere Client, it does not accept my AD account and it only accepts the ID of the root for ESXi
Have you checked that you access your vCenter and no ESXi host using vSphere Client?
vCenter is a management software that allows to manage ESXi host. WebClient is only available to manage vCenter server and NO ESXi host

I am running Windows Vista x 64, which comes with .net 2.0 and 3 and I also have Visual Studio 2005 installed on the computer, so I don't know why he tries to install this in the first place, and still less why it's a failure.
I got it, all you have to do is to uninstall the existing Microsoft Visual J# via the control panel.
Once uninstalled rerun vSphere install and it ends without error.

Hello
go to the link for the installation of the agent to view below:
https://www.VMware.com/tryvmware/index.php?p=VMware-view5&LP=default
If you have a vmware account then log in and then look for the VMware View Agent (32 / 64-bit) depending on your windows desktop operating system.
and then install and run it will solve you the connection problem.
Because if you force view install agent on your desktop computer, then you can access virtual desktop via Customer view.
View agent must be installed on your virtual windows computer desktop.
Once you have installed the agent of the display on your desktop of windows then you must restart and also you have to redo the new broker to view connections pool configuration.
Kind regards

Hello
According to my knowledge, if you have tried all these and then just go and check the services spend and vpxd, maybe some services deliver.

ESX4 starts - but takes at least 20 minutes before I can connect with vsphere client!
Currently, three servers of ESX4. Two months ago, a loss of power and of the restart. Server #1 initialization until the connection to the console without problem. Unable to connect to the server using client vshpere immediately. After 20 minutes, the vsphere client connections began to work.
Although nothing of him until the #3 server went down today and restarting system apparently came to the console ok, but took 40 minutes before I could connect to it with vsphere client! Y at - it something stupid I'm missing here? I have not tweaked these boxes, plenty of stock and NO settings have changed since its installation. They never used to take this long!
Any ideas?
I'm going to this post too, just in case

Add ESXi hosts to vSphere Client
We have 7 servers ESX and ESXi 8 servers.
Six of the ESX servers are sitting in a cluster and the last of them is located in its own cluster.
It's nice to manage all 7 ESX servers in a vSphere Client.
8 ESXi servers, I've been managing each with their own vSphere Client connection.
Is it possible to create a cluster of ESXi in vSphere and add each of the ESXi hosts to this cluster of '? Or even a "cluster"?
I tried and I get the following error.
"License not available to perform the operation. ESXi 4 for Host 192.168.1.10 Server license does not include the agent for ESX Server vCenter. Upgrade the license. »
We don't have a budget to upgrade the more liceneses. I don't mean to make HA or DRS on the ESXi hosts. I'd just like to see servers running on them for purposes of inventory without having to have 9 vSphere customers open.
We have a license entirely vCenter Server so I think we should be able to add these ESXi servers.
Any help would be appreciated.
You must have at least vSphere Standard license for each host you wish to manage with vCenter. Free ESXi cannot be connected to vCenter.

ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
Hello
I'm getting "ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection" error trying to connect to the "PDB". Here are the details of my env and I do:
Windows 7
My PC to install Oracle 11 g 2 Client (that's how I got this PC). And I already 11 GR 2 installed Oracle software and a local database that is named "ORCL" (whichdesignates currently the stop).
Yesterday, I installed Oracle 12 c (12.1.0) and created ORCL12C (CBD) and a PDBORCL (PDB). I connected to the PDBORCL as SYS and created user 'SCOTT '.
I am able to connect to ORCL12C (PEH) without any problem (SQL * more and TOAD). I can go to PDBORCL (alter session set container = pdborcl) without problem. But I get the error above (ora-12518 am) when I try to connect to the user 'SCOTT' created in 'PDBORCL' using SQL * more or TOAD. I want to connect to the user SCOTT and create objects in schema SCOTT, etc.. I get the same error, even if I try to connect to the PDB as user SYS (alter session command works fine).
I am new to 12 C. So it is quite possible that I'm doing something fundamentally wrong.

How to start a Virtual Appliance of in vSphere Client
Have the vSphere client connected to the server VCenter, with two hosts.
Everything works fine - VMs can be created, moved, everything.
I would like to make a new virtual machine from a Virtual Appliance.
I have already downloaded (Ubuntu 10.4 Server VA) and uncompressed it.
All the files are there ready to use, on the same computer that is running the vSphere Client.
Don't know how to use the AV. I can start going in VMware Player, but it's not my goal.
You want to set up/start them in vSphere Client, and then migrate the GOES from one host to another.
Thank you.
Since the files listed, it looks like a picture of work/drive station. What you can do is to use VMware vCenter Converter Standalone to convert the virtual machine to your ESXi host.

vSphere Client displays VM Annotations incorrectly
In the vSphere client, I clicked on a virtual machine and then click the Summary tab and added an annotation for this virtual machine. Then I clicked on a different virtual machine, and the same annotation text appeared. I click on different virtual machines, it seems that the text of the Annotation isn't get updated until I click a virtual machine running, or (b) a virtual machine that has the text of the non-empty Annotation of its own. It was using vSphere Client connected to a server vCenter 4.1.0 4.1.0.
Is this a known issue? Or am I doing something stupid? Is it possible to get the vSphere Client to display the current, correct the Annotation text for the virtual machine that is currently selected?
Thank you.
For guests, the update 1 build is 348481 for vCenter Server and the Client is 345043 vSphere.
Basically, I think the question was, that in the earlier version the annotation entry in the vmx file was not created by default. With the newer versions, the entry is created with an empty value (""). If at least workaround should solve the problem.
