VTEncoderXPCService the process using 100% CPU, slowing down of the MacBook Pro to a crawl

I'm running OS X 10.11.4 on my mid-2009, 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo 13 - inch MacBook Pro, updated updated to 8 GB of RAM. For these last days, a process called 'VTEncoderXPCService' has been constantly running like crazy on my Mac, using about 150% CPU. This slows down my Mac to a crawl, especially Safari, where I usually end up with beach balls every 20 to 40 seconds. I need help [figure out what is the cause, as my Mac is basically unusable because of the drop in performance.

This is a background process that converts the video in a photo or iMovie library. If an iOS device is connected, please disconnect. In the iCloud system preferences pane, uncheck that marked Photos. The activity should stop.

  • doc2text process using 100% cpu for a long

I have encountered this problem before and never received a satisfactory solution.

When we publish some PDF documents via collab in KD, doc2text process on our servers portals (also our API) turn at 100% of the CPU for about 90 seconds. This causes the publication of collab to fail, so we resort to directly download the file to the KD via downloading content.

    (1) why doc2text works on our servers of portal in the first place? Is this a result of the service portal server or api? If I move the API service off the coast to another machine, which will remove that pig of our front end servers CPU?

    (2) has anyone seen this before, or found a way around it? Y at - it a newer version of doc2text in gR 10, 3 that is not so terrible?

I'm about to move to 1 - cpu virtual in our new environment, so any process that takes up 100% of the CPU will kill performance.

    Joel,

Collab makes an IDK call to publish the document, so it does not hit the API service. For this reason, I propose the wide API service to another server so that the portal is not affected.

  • 35.0 Firefox uses 100% cpu on Mac Yosemite 10.10.1 then either breaks or needs force quit.

I had this problem since installing Yosemite and using 34.0.5. I upgraded yesterday to 35.0 but still the same problem. Firefox will work happily for a while and then all of a sudden will use 100% cpu. I disabled all extensions and plug-ins and that made no difference. If I use Java (8-25), it will usually make it crash but not always.

To make things worse, the accident report appears in Greek (which is considered in another question already).

Hi apdubois, it is useful to know that Flash is the problem but, as you point out, life without Flash is not very interactive.

It is a standard orientation that addresses the most common reasons for problems of Flash in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

    (1) make sure that all recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

    (2) disable graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

    (A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here and restart:

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

    (B) in Flash, see this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

There is apparently nothing to do and I'm not using the synchronize file CC, the only thing I use the CC app for updates of applications.

When the application pegs my CPU I usually double check that it is the culprit in the activity and then monitor exit. It's particularly annoying when that happens on the road with my Macbook Pro because at least that I pick it up quickly it makes my shorter than expected battery life.

I tried to plug the USB plug into the MacBook Pro directly, but the same thing happened...

Now, look at the chart of the keyboard that appears on the screen. If the Alt/Option key is stuck, the key will be gray, as if it is held down. If you press it again, he himself is not?

  • Slow Internet - mid-2010 MacBook Pro w / El Capitan

So I have a MacBook Pro 15 mid-2010 "running OS X El Capitan." A week ago my internet started running very slowly, until the point where it's impacting on my ability to get the work done. The speed seems to be the same if I'm at work or at home and if I connect via WIFI or connect directly to the router.

I was reviewed in the nets of support without success. I have reset the PRAM and the SMC which seems to help briefly, but then the internet speed slowed considerably again in 30 minutes approximately.

In addition, do not know if it of related or not, but I opened the Terminal today to try a solution suggested and noticed that my root directory is: ' melissas-iphone: ~ scottnewman$ ". I have absolutely no idea how melissas-iphone bears on my MacBook, and nobody in my family or connected to my Apple ID named melissa.

The help of this community would be much appreciated!

    Hello scnewman!

I would definitely internet speeds when I'm on my Mac to act normally, too.  It makes it that much better.  Two resets are good to try.  If you haven't done so already, you can run the Apple Hardware Test from the MacBook Pro to rule out other problems: using Apple Hardware Test - Apple Support

After this, you can create a new user to check if it's a large system or a specific user: How to test one question in another account on your Mac - Apple Support

Then goes into safe mode, too: try safe mode if your Mac does not commissioning - Apple Support

Response with no result and we can take it from there.

    See you soon!

  • What is the macbook pro last?

Hello, I am a student and I bought my first Macbook Pro 3 weeks.

I love it and was not able to get my hands on it since!

So today when I came home and was about to check my e-mail, it happened suddenly empty!

Black! I tried to reboot several times with different combinations, but not of chance that he will not go beyond the login screen.

I got help from Apple and could activate in Safeboot but always lights in normal mode.

I'm really upset because I was SO careful with her. He did not leave my room, I have same press as light as possible and put my mousepad touch click so I don't have to support as much...

As I said though, I used it a lot, a lot of videos, making notes, websites, etc. etc. I don't turn a lot of nights and close the form.

Y at - it advice or habits that I could make to my macbook it's bad for her?

And how much time the macbook pro durent usually? I have 13 inch Retina display with mid-range ram and processor, so it was not the cheapest, it was one of the more expensive down 13 inches.

I'm so afraid now because I'm a student and the death of my macbook on me in the future near or frequently (I only had it for 3 weeks) he's going to make things really difficult. So according to the pleading of your experience, I hope to upgrade to Apple Care or what not. They give you a replacement if it should be fixed?

I was hoping that it will last at least 5 years, would be a great expectation?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

It's just a mistake software, Terminal at all. So we know what you have in running which is the cause and for this we need a report. Download Etrecheck, run the report and post it here, you can do in Mode safe

  • Apple devices will not print not to 6700 Officejet, including the MacBook Pro and iPad

I'm helping someone to implement their MacBook Pro and iPad to print wirelessly on their Officejet 6700. I have recently set them up with a new Apple Airport Extreme for their router. The printer connects to the wireless network. During the installation process of the printer is fine, that the MacBook can easily see the printer. The appropriate driver is installed. They also have a laptop Windows 7, which prints instanteously and has no problem whatsoever.

When I try to print from the Mac, nothing prints. I open the print queue and it says 'Printing - a printer' and nothing ever comes of it. When you try to print from the iPad, you can see the printer and I select. However, after saying in print, said only dialog box: 'Connection to the printer' and he never - it just times out.

    Things I've tried:

    • Everything in this article which corresponds to Macs (10.8).
    • Reset the printing on Mac system.
    • Reset the printer to default settings.
    • The definition of the static IP address of the printer through the printer settings.
    • Setting the IP address of the printer via the Airport utility (after changing the automatic printer).
    • Restart the Mac after each attempt to remove the printer and adding again.
    • Using the official HP Officejet 6700 driver.
    • Use the Airprint driver.

    Other info:

    • Successfully, I can ping IP address of the printer from the MacBook Pro.
    • I can easily see the web page of configuration of the printer in the printer settings both by entering the IP address.
    • The printer is only about a month.
    • They bought this printer because the earlier had problems printing from all of their wireless devices. It is with a previous router in their ISP.

At this point, I'm completely puzzled as to why the printer will print not these Apple devices. We have addressed all the issues that might be causing it: the network, the printer and the MacBook itself. I looked online and can't see any problem with people not being able to print to a wireless printer connected to an Airport Extreme. I saw some problems when the printer is connected via USB to an Airport Extreme, but this isn't our installation program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, I must admit, I had to do a lot of research to find something that you have not already tried! Thanks for your efforts so far @derick03 I accept the challenge of helping you get this to work.

I have a vague feeling that the problem may have something to do with the router settings and to test my theory, I would like to try something for me.

Please, open the preferences system, printing and scanning, click on the + symbol to add a printer, but this time, instead of the default tab, click the IP tab. Now let's add the printer using HP Jet Direct Protocol instead of the standard Hello.

You can enter the IP address here, choose the HP Jet Direct and then select the printer driver, and then try to print. You will not be able to analyze this way, I just do this for diagnostic purposes. If you can print, it confirms the Hello Protocol is, and you will need to call Apple to make them turn on Hello, multicast and ensure that all the necessary ports are open.

Not all wireless routers take load Hi or all features of Hello. Hello being the default method for the discovery of printers on a network, you must ensure that your wireless router supports Hello.
  • The Macbook Pro 13 "is good for making movies

    Hi all

I would like to know wheter or not the MacBook Pro 13 "is strong enoughfor film making, I want to use movie making applications and all... I aspire to edit videos short and simple I will upload later on social media. I saw the presentation of the MacBook Pro on the Apple site and I noticed that when talking about the film to do things, they only mention the 15 "... and I had a few doubght.

To say, I want to buy the MacBook Pro 13 "retina, i7, 16 GB, ssd 550 with a 256 GB of storage.

    Thank you for your help.

It depends on this kind of filmmaking. Model 15-inch more expensive is the only one with an independent graphics card and will be able to manage better than all other models rendering tasks. If your movie is CGI intensive, you can consider the 15-inch model. If your film is essentially practical, 13 inches could possibly do with simplest post-editing and CGI, but may take longer. If you make a great movie, you can also consider a larger storage capacity as videos tend to take place. View a comparison of the two products on the Apple website here.
