VWorkspace slow environment

Hi guys,.

We have a problem that the beginning of an application click on one, until the application is fully available takes too long.

I want to especially discuss the accused of long time waiting by clicking an application in AppPortal Client and the 'Start' of quest box.

Whenever it takes 20-30 seconds to start the connection, sometimes more.

In this time AppPortal stops responding and waiting for information from the broker. (and this is not issue a client side, because I have the same behavior on each client)

WebAccess, we can see that firstly it takes too long to load the .pit file and after that also takes too long too load connection.

What is your experience with these Perfomance in vWorkspace and best practices to get the most out of a vWorkspace environment?

I just think that our broker is fully loaded with applications and Copmputer groups and that is why the performance is declining. Are there suggested limits?

The broker we have altogether:

  • 115 computer groups
  • 188 computers/VDIs (Parallels)
  • Managed applications 810

The use of resources (CPU/RAM), servers are not on the edge and have many free resources.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much

Jeje

That's fine, I add more apps to mine as we speak.

I know of many clients with more users/VDIs, but I've never seen that many Applications.

I have an environment unique bdb (5.0.58) about half a terabyte of size, and I can open a process for reading only bdb instantly when there is no other bdb write process.

But when there is another process of writebacks made bdb and cleaning of newspapers, the reading process only bdb seems to expect the the writing process has finished editing the database, which could take hours to finish in my case. Is this expected behavior, or am I missing something?

You make the control points in the process of the writer? If this is not the case, the single reading process will have to replay the journal.

  • How to unlock (HUMINT-alt-end) on Apple MAC

Some of our customers use MAC connector to connect to our vWorkspace VDI environment.

A screen saver that locks the screen after a few minutes, we have the installation program.

On a windows PC, the user can press CTRL-ALT-END to unlock the screen.

However, on MAC without the key END users cannot exit from this screen to unlock.

We tried different combinations, but nothing seems to work.

    Any idea?

I met the same problem. I work with a MacBook Air. What worked for me was the combination fn control-alt/option + DELETE. Hope this helps someone of you!

    Hello

This is also due to slow environment, you can reduce mongodb in a node, or extend the time-out of the previous task.

To reduce the mongodb in a single node

    1. go to the file /opt/vmware/vio/etc/omjs.properties

    WHO. Nodes.Number.MongoDB = 3

    change to 1

    2. restart SGD

    Run "restart who".

In the meantime, I've added a hint of the query / * + USE_HASH (bs tk_pla) that causes the CBO in the environment that is slow to use a hash instead of the nested loop join. The execution time down to a minute.
The solution with the suspicion is acceptable, I would like to get rid of this suspicion - or at least to (better) understand why the CBO in the slow environment chooses a loop nested without suspicion (= if there is indeed some statistics wrong or other configuration errors;) I also did some checking on the tables and indexes. SAT_INDI a 41100 lines while A-lines in the slow environment shows a difference).

The statistics of the A-LINES are different, because the lower part of the development from Operation plan ID 22 runs 76 000 times due to the LOOP IMBRIQUEE. It is therefore essentially the lines properly estimated 40 k time 76 000, makes a total of 3 G lines generated.

I have already spoken several times, but you have not addressed this yet: why you get a cost estimate of 0 for multiple access to the index in the plan of 'slow '? What you get in the index at the global level statistics (as these seem to be partitioned, very likely local index): btree height (BLEVEL), the number of lines, pads of sheets, separate keys etc. ?

In addition, which seems very strange in terms of slow: the view from Operation card identity 22 seems to be encrypted with 0, although some of the sub-operations such as access to the table SAT_INDI have a cost > 0.

It would be helpful if you could post the output of the plan PLAN EXPLAIN corresponding series for serial execution see the costs, given my conclusions above are based on the parallel execution plan.

This cost of 0 for the view is probably the main reason why the optimizer favors the external operation of LOOP IMBRIQUEE. There could be a bug that the entire view is encrypted with 0 if sub-operations have a cost > 0.

It could be a side effect of the index being encrypted with 0 access, so I think that you should focus on this point first.

Any ideas how to work on this issue?

    Thanks in adv.

    Hi Holger,

This seems interesting. Crochet vWorkspace dll would be loaded in both scenarios, with the main apparent difference being that the launched the login shell is pnstart.exe, followed by explorer.exe instead of simply explorer.exe.

What I would do in your situation, it is first of all turn off the hook dll. run regedit, go to HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows and change the LoadAppInit_DLLs value to 0 (zero). Set to 1 when you have finished the test.

Test the application startup time in two connection scenarios. My guess is that they will all two Rapids, but otherwise, this could be very interesting.

  • My ESXi 4 demo environment is very slow

I wanted to play with ESXi 4 and also Windows 2008 R2 so I thought why not combine the two.  So using a HP DL380 G5 with a processor dual core and 2 GB of memory, I built a simple test box ESXi 4 and I installed a Windows 2008 R2 VM on it.  I use 2 146 Go local disks (RAID-1) to host the data store and ESX is also running on the same disks.

Even after you have installed VMware tools in the virtual machine, it is the slow dinner.  It takes about 10 minutes to start (just sitting there with a black screen during most of this time) and simple things like click on the start menu, take a very long time.  It's the fact that I use the local drive of the problem?  I expect has a single box VM to run 'OK' in this environment (I don't expect fireworks from this bad boy), but it's really really horible.  It is unusable.

Someone at - it advice or suggestions.  The virtual machine has 1.5 GB of memory assigned to it and 1 vCPU.

    SB

ESXi takes a little memory for overhead.  Look at the resources page to see what the system is to memory and then lower the settings of the virtual machine to see if it improves.  Your server must be running a number of virtual machines on the fine just of local storage, but if approve you memory then ESXi begin on page and performance will slow down.

  • We operate in a very restricted DNS environment and sites with a signed wildcard SSL download is very slow, so how turn off all controls and keep HTTPS?

If we use a self-signed certificate, we could add an exception. But we use a DigiCert Wildcard certificate. Our sites use a DNS very small with maybe a dozen of the URL for which a name points to an IP address. When Firefox is used to access our sites over HTTPS it is slow and often does not drink serving error messages on the security of the site. I think it's because he needs to verify the certificate or revocation. We do not have this problem using HTTP. I disabled 'OCSP request', but it did not help.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

So, I have a solution for this, but I consider ideal.

Our certificate provider utilizes both URLS resolve to a single IP address to validate certificates. Adding restricted these records to our DNS solves the problem. However, IPs addresses change from time to time and each site would have to be updated if that happened.

Ideally, it would be nice if Mozilla would add a white list or 'trust' option to Firefox.

    Thank you.

    Hello!

I did an executable file of my project.

When I run it on my pc (where installed labview development), I don't have problems and instantly loaded application.

I tried to run the exe even on several other computers, all having the same trouble - the façade poped up after 2 minutes of waiting.

I made a little test and pluged out the network cable - it solved the problem, but I need the network.

I tried to disable the update automatic root certificate (as advised on a thread) but no luck.

I searched the forums and found similar problems - but not solutions.

    Please help me.

    Guy.

    Yes. Problem solved.
first turn off the auto root certificate update - no problem to find how to do this.
Then type regedit in start-run, my computer-hkey current user-software-microsoft-windows-currentVersion-winTrust-trust suppliers-software publishing - just right-click on the state-change-change the character c to e, then press ok.
Good luck and let me know if this helped.

    Hi all

We found that if you do not use Metaprofiles in your environment, you can save a fair few seconds off your time of connection by installing is not the part of the user of PNTools in your main image profiles.

We did it here and it made a big difference.

    Thank you, Andrew

  • Problem of the El Capitan 10.11.4 and prompt orders/confirmation of the very slow connection wifi

After that update to "El Capitan 10.11.4" my macbook pro is not able to connect to wifi public networks that invites for an acknowledgement of receipt/confirmation to the user.

The login is also unbearably slow (about 5 minutes), but luckily, everything seems to work once connected. It seems that the wifi problem is related to the slow connection in what I saw the google wifi guest come up starbucks and disappear during the process of connection of five minutes of time (reboot wifi has not triggered the prompt after compulsive attempts).

I read topics similar and tried the option presented by robertk1 in difficulty to El Capitan stuck during the connection , but still the same problem. I tried the signed two disconnected (e) icloud and make sure that there is no startup slow process daemon/agent.

Here's my laptop specs: MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2014, retina), 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Iris of Intel Pro.

I am considering re-installing and getting ready for a backup. I am wondering anyone has recommendations about what else I can try as a last resort. It seems there should be a way to repair this.
Below are some of the log entries which seem relevant for the processes taking the longest time.
Thank you for any help, insight and tips,
    Enrique
