W32/Gaobot.worm.Gen.u - Win32/RBot.3eu! Endless screw

... okay, I don't remember having that, but...

under windows, 'reports on problems and solutions', under 'information on other problems', there is 1 called "virus alerts".

It is said:
' Delete the W32/Gaobot.worm.gen.u - Win32/RBot.3eu! Your computer worm

This problem [I do not know what is the problem they are referring] was caused by W32/Gaobot.worm.gen.u - Win32/RBot.3eu! Worm, a known computer virus.

This probably happened in the past. so...

(1) how do for 100% sure that it is my computer?

(2) so far, I don't think (think, always uncertain) that it is still in my computer. But if it's not then why I have this thing "virus alert" section "information on other issues" under "reports on the problems and solutions?

EDIT:

Okay, I think this is related to the b.exe problem, and now I'm not too sure b.exe was never removed...

  • Alert to the virus by practicing a game

    By practicing a game I d/l from a site that I was a member for a long time, with no problems. The game has stopped working and I got an error msg that this problem was caused by a W/32/gaobot.worm.gen.u-Win 32/RBot.3eu/Worm, a known computer virus. He's going to suggest, I get a updated antivirus software, but I do not have a current software running.  I'm afraid that the website that I have never had a problem for so long is not as safe as I thought.  or that my antivirus/antispyware is not very good.  Any suggestions would be helpful.  Thank you.

    A virus is a program.  If you download and run a program, it can do what it is supposed to do.  Antivirus software looks at programs you download and check if they are in their catalog of known viruses.  If it does not what in the catalogue, it assumes that it is good and allows you to run.  Given that catalogs are updated all the time, that they can longer late with an update that discovers (once you have been infected) that the program you have running contains a virus.  Then warns you that you are now infected.

    These days, the infection tends to come because people have exceeded the older software such as Adobe Reader, Java and Flash versions.  Because people are rarely (if ever) looking for updates of these programmes, they are often easily infected with new viruses.  Virus writers are constantly changing and updating their virus so that the anti-virus software is unable to detect them.

    You should contact the company that makes your antivirus software and investigate the best way to clean your machine out of the virus you have with them.  And make sure all your system patches are up-to-date and your various software is up-to-date.  I would check out Adobe, Java, and Flash as they all have a lot of known holes in them that current virus writers take advantage of the.  But, at the same time, if you download games on Internet, it is very possible that files can be infected as well.  Therefore, always get a trusted site or source files.

    For extreme cases:

    Norton Power Eraser - eliminates deeply embedded and difficult to remove crimeware
    This traditional antivirus analysis does not always detect. Because the Norton Power Eraser
    uses aggressive methods to detect these threats, there is a risk that it can select some
    legitimate programs for removal. You should use this tool very carefully and only after
    you have exhausted other options.

  • Toshiba Recovery - Partition creation failed on Satelite P200

    I have a * Toshiba Satelite P200 *.

    Norton has expired recently, within hours of the expiry I seemed to have a Trojan horse. I think it is W32/IRCbot.worm (his supposition a little!) because it seems to be popping up again.
    It also caused my computer to restart, as in the description of viruses.

    I had tried recovery and recovery disks but received this error initializing the partition has been:
    * ERROR: 08-0E89-000 *.
    Failed to create the partition.

    I then tried a full erase with the TOSHIBA recovery disks, it took hours 18 or more, but ended up with the same error message as above.

    I do not have data importiant (transferred all externally) and I'd like to start over again. I'd love you long if all-in-one could suggest anything.

    To make clean OS install with media recovery is not a problem, and you can't do anything wrong. I recommend you do the little test and install the operating system without creating any partition. Start the recovery procedure, choose the language and simply continue without using the SETUP button.

    Please can report you if the recovery procedure completes successfully?

    To be honest, if you can't install the OS via recovery DVD disc there is not much to do and you need to clarify this with the service provider authorized in your country. Either they will test with other discs or experiment with new HARD drive. I don't see any other solution here.

  • Hijacked network settings (proxy)

    I am running windows 7 and using Firefox 4.0b7.

    Somehow, I got a hold of the "Backdoor:Win32/Rbot.AW / cycbot.b". I ran "Dr.Web CureIt!", then "MalwareBytes". He was found and removed, but now everytime I open Firefox, the connection parameter default to the use of http proxy 127.0.0.1, with a port of 55030 setting.

    I have to go, remove the proxy and reset whenever I run the application
    Firefox. IE, once the backdoor has been removed, opens fine and
    keeps its settings.

    I also noticed in the file named prefs.js, the following lines are displayed and cannot be removed. When I remove them, they reappear as soon as I run the FF application.

    user_pref ("Network.http.Max - persistent-connections-per-server", 4);
    user_pref ("network.proxy.http", "127.0.0.1");
    user_pref ("network.proxy.http_port", 55030);
    user_pref ("network.proxy.type", 1);

    See if this happens with a new profile - just to test it, don't add anything in the new profile.

  • XP Pro malware attack.

    My XP Pro laptop has been infected with some kind of malware that is picked up and began to run a fake program that looks like Microsoft Security Center.  It shows the shield and begins an analysis that says that he's been infected by w32/blaster/worm.  I did respond to this.  I shut down the system, restarted in Mode safe mode with networking and headed two programs to try to remove it.  Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware SE.  After you remove the programs of boredom, I rebooted.  Now, Windows XP restarts at the login screen.  At that time, he is locked.  No mouse, no keyboard.  Can anyone tell how to proceed from here?

    If you are in North America, you can call the MS Support to 866-727-2338 for help with infections of virus and spyware.

  • How can I remove Windows Security Suite of XP?

    Can someone help me? I have the Windows Security Suite virus on my XP computer. Whenever I start the PC, a program runs telling me I have so many viruses, Trojans etc. and asks me to buy software to get rid of them (I didn't buy it!). I also pop ups in the lower left corner of the bar saying various programs tasks, we stopped loading due to infection by the w32/blaster.worm. I learned that it is the Windows Security Suite Virus. How can I remove this? I try to run various software in normal mode, but the virus blocks to open up. I can't open any programs or crib etc. in normal mode due to the virus of the task. I went into safe mode and ran the programs, but they detect all viruses! I used Malwarebytes for it. How can I remove this virus? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

    If necessary to download programs on another computer and transfer them to this using a
    removable media such as USB, CD or DVD.

    If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
    scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
    resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
    cause.

    No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
    to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
    its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
    extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

    It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run
    the regular windows when you can.

    TDSSKiller.exe. - Download the desktop - so go ahead and right-click on it - RUN AS ADMIN
    It will display all the infections in the report after you run - if it will not run changed the name of
    TDSSKiller.exe to tdsskiller.com. If she finds something or not does not mean that you should not

  • All the tools of Management\Administrator has disappeared - restore disabled, no run command, msconfig, etc..

    My daughter has run an .exe file on her netbook and has been infected. The antivirus (MS Essentials) got off, restore power off, msconfig and the management of all tools would appear on the screen and then disappear. Online scanners didn't work, even if it was said he had a virus: the great W32/CEP.worm! ini.  I have restored from the partition hidden (from Acer erecovery) and have been updated to the new facility. I installed and run AVAST a couple of times during this process-OK. All of a sudden, I noticed the command RUN is missing from the start menu, and he withdrew some advanced options. Still once the restore has been turned off and all management tools only Flash on the screen before disappearing. I just ran AVAST on 'more sensitive' settings, and he comes clean.

    I lose these tools because of one of the many updates or could a virus has infected the erecovery partition (Avast does not see this partition)? Thanks for your informed reply.

    Michael

    Michael,
    According to the recovery option, it is possible that the virus was not completely removed.  I suggest that you restore the system and use the option that formats the hard disk before starting the installation.  Once it is in place and I executed would then put a few antivirus programs on a disk or a USB stick and then run them before getting online.  Then once you get online just updated windows update and drivers of material and then scan your system.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
