W510 battery

The Tablet indicates that battery #1 not found
But #2 is fully charged
What should I do

I read in another thread that may help recover system or BIOS update. If she doesn't fix it, I would call Acer for repair.

Anyone know when and if a new version of the Power Manager will be the threshold of battery options?

I use the Power Manager 3.12 on a W510.  When I go into the maintenance of the battery on the battery tab I don't see any options to change the threshold.  There is a message at the top of the window that indicates that I should be able to change the thresholds from this window.  I think I read in another post that Lenovo has removed these options by mistake at some point and that they would return in a future version.  It would be good to know when they will return.

3.20 PM was released and he brings this option. (for my T510 at least)

  • Touchpad Iconia W510 turns off when the battery dies

I know this isn't the best subject line, but he described a kind of my problem.

My W510 Iconia came with Win 8 when new and then the empty Tablet two batteries so that I could use the touchpad for as long as I could use the device. Drained the battery of the keyboard first of all, there's enough juice to keep the touchpad and keyboard work and then switched to the battery of the tablet. When I closed the lid it load the battery in the keyboard shelf. Neat.

When I upgraded to 8.1 win he has changed so that it now would drain the keyboard battery almost completely and thus stops the touchpad. Sill keyboard works, however. Is not treated, it is a step backward and very annoying.

This turns a laptop very versatile and ergonomic for a tablet with a keyboard for about 50% of his total time of battery, which is a long time for this device. The only way using the touchpad is to charge the battery of the keyboard more than x % (when it is unplugged the touchpad up 0% works). I haven't checked how I need to load the keyboard in order to get the touchpad working again. I write this as it Chargers and 15% is still not restarting the touchpad, I guess I have to restart.

The other week I upgraded to Windows 10 and Win 8.1 behavior continues.

Of course, all the drivers and updates from Windows Update are installed and uptodate.

Y at - it a fix, a driver that it cures, a power setting which prevents the tablet to completely drain the batteries in the keyboard?

    Thanks for your time!

Because I failed to locate the drivers for the touchpad and reinstall so I used the system restore feature.

Curiously enough the touchpad began immediately the work during the restore process while restoring the system itself ended with a message that it was unable to restore Windows to an earlier version of point as no changes have been identified.

Well, everything is working now, so, my lesson is that the system restore can restore drivers and relaunch devices Device Manager can not find.

  • Battery life maximize W510

    Hello

recently, I bought a W510. I installed Linux and now I wonder what thresholds of charge I should use in order to maximize the life of the battary. On http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Tp_smapi#Battery_charge_control_features , there is a notion of start = 50 and stop = 80. These values are reasonable or better a?

I ask because tp_smapi is there for years and perhaps the battery technology could have evolved since.

    Kind regards

    Stefan

try to 90 per cent of the higher value. But make sure that you reset the battery every two months or so, to unload and reload again.

  • Lenovo W510 flicker/blur when it's on battery (with nvidia Quadro FX880M)

    Hello

    I recently bought 2 notebooks Lenovo W510, 8 G RAM, Quadro FX880M, battery 9 cells, W7 64-bit.

Both have the same problem: when you work without external PSU (on battery), the screen will start to Flash / get blurry from time to time, for a second or two.

Note that this happens not only at the point where I switch from external power to the battery, but all the time, I work with the battery.

I noticed that it happens more frequently when Internet Explorer is running.

When external power is connected - all right.

Anyone who has observed the same problem / knows how to solve?

    Thank you!

Update video drivers - it should solve this problem.

  • Moored W510 has really bad update video internal display

I noticed that when I anchor my w510 in my dock, updates on the internal display is terribly slow.

What I mean is that scrolling in applications is very choppy and rough.

Play videos full screen creates 'split-screen' effect where the Summit of the half is out of sync with the bottom half, this separation is not constant, different media are the divider at different locations. several media have it in about 1/3 from the top.

This is also apparent in other applications like games full screen.

I did some research on the internet about this behavior and have not yet found a good explanation.

First I thought it was something power, I have no 135W power, and I checked the CPU is without limitation down or something unusual rooted or not anchored. I read people have bad experience with the power of 90W with limitation or simply bad terrible performance of the CPU down.

The really strange thing is that as soon as I unplug the computer from the dock, this behavior disappears!

The laptop running on battery or external power gives me about this problem.

I also tried to fix an external display directly on laptop or docking station, and I see no problem on external display.

When you use external display with docking station, the internal screen is still having the problem, while at the same time the external display shows no problem, regardless of the configuration of extended screen or mirror.

    Computer running Windows 7 x 64 with Sp1.

Alll drivers are updated through system update.

An update, I used the updated system drivers, I tried today to download the NVidia driver, so I installed their Quadro Mobile 305.93 driver, and the problem seems to have disappeared!

It's looking good, but I need more than 15 minutes of testing applications scrollng, videos full screen, etc, to make sure that the problem is solved.

  • Dock W510 has stopped working

Yesterday, I noticed that when my 6 month old Acer W510 is docked, completely empty the Tablet battery and dock.

After you have installed the latest drivers for the tablet now works fine (not connected) however the dock keyboard has stopped working completely.

I can not load or when it is connected to the Tablet it is not recogonized and does not at all.
As a tip I saw in the forum to restart the Tablet while anchored, but it also did not help.

I don't mind to send it in for repair, but before I do so I was wondering if there was an easy solution out there (which I was unable to find on Google).

  • Acer Iconia W510 won't batteries

I got the W510 Iconia for a month or two, and I have a problem that the computer shuts down with no warning or anything.

Me I found the problem, because it only happens when the battery in the keyboard is very close to 0% power.

The thing is that there are 95% of the power of the Tablet battery, so it's as if the computer will not pass through one battery (the one on the keyboard) to the other (in the Tablet).

I don't know if it's a Win8 parameter or if there is something I can do?

It's really annoying, because it gives me only about 3-4 hours of battery life with the connected keyboard.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

"first of all use the docking station battery, and once she is discharged at 1%, it will move to the Tablet battery." Looks like yours does not commute. The question then becomes "where is the failover of 1%? If in the material, you have a defective unit. If the software, the issue would be to find.

For me the easiest way would be to have a switch on the printed circuit relay (with perhaps a darlington in front but discrete components.) When a good dock is connected, the tension of mooring is used to change the power source to the dock. When the dock is disconnected or goes ded the coild is greater and the main battery is attached.

The tab work main battery if you disconnect the dock?

If she then just had a wall out - thought: If you go into control panel > power > open the current plan and select "advanced options" will open an "Advanced settings" list and you will have a number of options.

I don't know if the battery of the dock is considered to be local but if a switching relay, I suspect it is. Note the switch designed ACER will be 1%. The setting of low battery on the laptop I have at the moment is low at 10% and 5% critical battery. It is possible to set the 'low battery action' to 'stop, sleep or into hibernation'.

So it is possible for Windows power management be set so as to close the tab until it reaches the passage of 1%.

    Maybe worth a visit.

PS I do not have to exhaust all the batteries completely. Personally would fix the passage will take place at 10% or more.

  • Remove the W510 RAID1?

    Hi all.

These past 'issues' with my W500 has me shopping for a new.  PCMall W510... Best sellers

in stock, etc.  I can really play with computer reliablity, so I bought one.

He has shown with 2 hard drives in RAID1.  I'm debating remove a HARD drive or not and

install an optical drive.  RAID1 might be best for reliablitiy long term, but I'm used to make frequent

backups and would like the optical (by machine) onhand when I need.

Wonder, since its RAID1, it would be as easy as just turn off the RAID in the bios and taking into

on the 2nd HARD drive?  or it's much more complex than that?

(the w510 is of course different from that of the 500.  feels much lighter! -He showed up with a cracked LCD screen and

goes back... but that's a different question.  with the holidays, I am interested in the resolution of Tuesday... I hope

PC Mall is well... I was disappointed because I was looking forward to playing all weekend)...

    Thank you all!

    Hi outofstepper,

Sorry to hear about the broken LCD screen

It is quite easy to remove the raid, but the data will be lost. Take a look at this link which will describe the procedure:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-75086

RAID 1 will usually IO a little faster that a single HD RAID 1 is not an option that will replace the need for a backup. You are protected HD failure using RAID 1, but will not be protected against data corruption because corrupt data will be mirrored to the two HARD drives, so even with RAID 1 is a good idea to take a backup of your system. If you always make sure you backup your data, I guess that you can fine without RAID 1, but in the case of a failure of HD, you will need to replace the HD, run a restore and all changes after the last backup will be lost. Using RAID 1, you can continue to work and just replace the drive HARD failed when you get a new one. Two HARD drives will consume more energy as well if the battery life is important to you.

I got a W510, do not use RAID functions, perform frequent backups and got an optical drive. Need the optical drive so I would have picked that instead of RAID in all cases. I also replaced the HARD drive by an Intel SSD that really gave me a performance boost.

  • W510 switchable graphics?

    Hello

I'm busy considering the W510 laptop. I did a search of the forums and not found the answer, I hope someone here could shed some light on the question of the switchable graphics on the W510.

As the Intel Calpella platform has on board a graphics integrated in any case surely it would certainly make sense to make the graphic switcable between dedicated when the onbaord and the Nvidia FX880m mobile to save battery. I see that Nvidia have launched what is called 'Optimus' - it seems not applicable to the FX 880 M - could it or something like it be adde via firmware or updates of the Bios Lenovo.

I'm new to Lenovo so not sure that their policies are with the addition of features like this.

The W510 is delivered with Clarksfield the quad core-based processors.  They are not the GPU integrated into processors dual-core i3 & i5.  There is nothing to go to.

  • W510 display problem

Hi guys, I just bought a W510 and found a display problem when using the battery.

The display will sometimes dim when using battery power following in the Manager of power Plans:

    • Video playback
    • Maximum battery life
    • Timers (presentation)
    • Optimized power source
    • Energy Star

This means that, except for the power Plan maximum Performance, the problem exists in all levels of power.

I post 2 pictures here to make it clear:

Is there someone who has the same problem?

It's normal.  You can turn on your laptop and log in all with a single blow.  Try it.  Power off your system and then drag your finger.  If it's a good shot and it is recognized, you are to go turned off to the turning on and connected in your office all with one shot.  You won't even have to re-do slide to authenticate with the operating system.
