W520 on heating and nvidia quadro 2000 m disabled by windows

As I reinstalled windows 7 on my W520 and refusing to activate my card nvidia quadro graphics 2000 m (Code 43)

For a while the fan is overheating and the left hinge right become very hot.

I think that the graphics card is dead, but I want to know why and if I can stop the overheating.

Is the graphics card soldered on the motherboard of the W520?

Thanks for your help.

PS: Only the Intel HD graphics chipset is running...

If the guarantee of the machine is still in force, it will be covered, unless it has failed because of some accidental damage like a spillage. In this case, it will be refunded only if the original owner bought the optional warranty "accidental damage".

The 570 both the 580 on the list supported and therefore do not require the 'hack '. In my case, using a GTX 480, I need to use the hack, because it is not supported.

All the cards that you mention are good. Other good brands are Palit, Zotac, Asus, perspective, etc. The differences between these brands are very small. The choice of one over the other should be based on the price guarantee functions, where features usually boil down to the speed clock and the amount of memory.

I suggest that take you a look at our last results page, because it allows you to sort on (almost) all fields of the database by clicking on a column header, so you can find the info you want faster. http://ppbm5.com/DB-PPBM5-2.php

The new database contains all entries, since the new configuration cannot be transferred from data provided after January 29. All the news from before that time would require new presentations. Nevertheless, with about 340 entries is still an important source of information.

  • Problems with the Precision M4400 and the graphic card Nvidia quadro 770M

I have a problem with my Precision M4400 and Nvidia Quadro 770 M. After I installed Windows 7 64 bit, I have problems with the graphics card. I get a blue screen or graphic errors. I tried several versions of the driver. In the Nvidia forum had this problem even more. Here, they told me that only a BIOS update for the graphics card to solve the problem. Update the BIOS, but I should refer by DELL. So my question is this problem with Dell is also known, and there is already an update of the BIOS to the Quadro 770 M?

    Hi all

I have the solution by chance. I was looking for the latest drivers GeForce for Windows 7 x 64 and I read the accompanying note: http://fr.download.nvidia.com/Windows/337.88/337.88-win8-win7-notebook-release-notes.pdf
On page 17, you can read the following note to fix: "[GeForce FX 770 M] [portable]: blocking of the blue screen occurs after Windows starts."

Of course, GeForce FX 770 M does not exist (and never was), and it should be Quadro FX 770 M. I can bet that nVidia has corrected this famous BSOD problem in the wrong driver because always there is nothing about any "Quadro FX 770 M - fix" in the note accompanying the latest Quadro (340.52) driver.

You try the GeForce driver above, but to install it, you may need to download an INF file modified with the addition of the ID of Quadro FX 770 M (= "NVIDIA_DEV.065C ="NVIDIA Quadro FX 770 M"). Try without the first modified INF file because the Quadro FX 770 M is listed as a compatible chip in the version of the driver GeForce 337.88 note...

I'll try that, even though I am completely sastified with the latest driver for Quadro (feasible) (285.62) without disable Powermizer. I did not try the latest Quadro drivers again (to be honest).

    Late me know please.

All i7 - 8xx CPUS have the same limitation, the architecture of mobo P55/H57 and the same thing applies to all 2 x 00 (K) new Sandy Bridge CPU, mobo P67/H67/Q67 architecture. The two 1155 and 1156 pins of the processor are not suitable for editing.

    Why?

    1. only 16 channel PCI-e 2.0

    2. only 4 DIMM slots and max 16 GB

    3. only dual channel memory

The major limitation is the number of PCI-e lanes. This makes it impossible to install a raid controller, which is sorely lacking for comfortable editing.

Currently, the entry-level processor is the i7-950 on a X 58 mobo, 12 GB of RAM and a GTX 460 graphics card.

The alternative is waiting until the end of 2011 for the Sandy Bridge E on a X 68 mobo, with 40 channels PCI-e 3.0, 8 DIMM slots, max 32 GB and quad, without integrated graphics useless path memory in the processor.

The choice of Dell is ill advised. All Dell machines come with paralyzed BIOS which makes it impossible to overclocking, they come with custom PSU which cannot be replaced by anything else that Dell, they rob you blind on Extras at exorbitant rates, as hard drives additional, extra memory, etc. They also pre-install all kinds of shit without the media, which goes down the drain when you want to reformat your OS drive.

Build your own or have ADK build one for you.

PS. show you how Dell steals blind you:

    1. upgrade to i7 - 880, + $740. The CPU is also about $ 340, and you still have the 860 for sale on e - Bay.

    2. upgrade to 16 GB, + $1810. Elsewhere, sticks of 4 x 4 GB are around $200 and you still have the original 4 GB for sale on e - Bay.

    3. upgrade to two drives of 1 TB, + $800. Also separately to sell for about $200 with 32 MB memory cache, double hidden Dell as well as the original disc to sell on e - Bay.

    4. Add a BR 6 burner x, + $313. Elsewhere a BR 10 x burner for $100.

In short, Dell you $3 658 charges for upgrades on a system, you can do it yourself for $840 to underspecced.

You must be nuts to accept such a deal.

  • NVIDIA Quadro 1000 M graphic appearing is not under ThinkVantage system information

I just got a W520, and I wonder why in "Multimedia" in the information system of ThinkVantage the Nvidia Quadro 1000 M card graphic is not appear. Maybe it's not supposed to. All that I see listed is 'Video card - Intel(r) HD Graphics Family', ' display - ThinkPad display 1600 x 900 ", and" sound card...»» "Not sure why Nvidia would not have shown here.

because there are two gpu in your system, when you are not using anything intensive GPU that it switches to gpu intel HD and if you do 3D, games, or anything that requires the most powerful GPU, then your GPU Nvidia comes into play.

You can switch to the discrete gpu under the menu of the bios (under the screen).

  • Advice needed centenarians and hi-res W520 or new and low resolution W530?

    Hello people!

I'd appreciate your advice and your experience to help me with my contemplation.

Im a CAD (solidworks, autocad, revit) and graphics (adobe, sony vegas) user, I need a new machine because my x200t do not support the load more...

    New W530:

    Intel Core i7-3720QM - 4 c - 2.6 GHz

    8GB 500 GB 7200 RPM + 32 GB mSATA

    15.6 inch (1600 x 900 nVidia Quadro 1100 M)

DVD - Rec WiFi color sensor of fingerprint 4-in-1 card reader

    Backlit keyboard 9 cell cam

    Windows 7 Pro 64

I would buy something and forget the upgrade for the next 3 years...

    I'd appreciate advice.

    Kind regards

    • Do not spend money for the color sensor. Buy a sensor of external color that you can use the laptop monitor and your internal display.
    • Why do you have 32 GB on the W530 mSATA? Go with an SSD as a single disc, or go with an SSD in the main Bay and the HARD drive in an adapter ultra bay. I don't think that the 32 GB mSATA is logical from the financial point of view as a disk cache only.
    • Do you need the cam on the on the W530, which should save money as well.

    2000M (W520) vs... K1000M (W530)

Both have 192 cores, 2 GB of Ram, bandwidth, same memory, same version of OpenGL, shader model directX version PCI-E generation FP32 and Optimus.

Differences: K1000M gives you DisplayPort 1.2 and the 2000M is only DisplayPort 1.1. TDP is less than 10W on the K1000M.

See this pdf to more details.

For graphics cards will perform more or less the same (W530 could be able to turbo graphics or more processor because of less PDT). You will benefit from the additional performance of the 3720? If so, then I'd go with the W530.

I normally recommend Win 7 Home Premium and not Pro, since they both will come with a $14.99 to Win 8 Pro upgrade. I guess you want to stay on Win 7, at least until the 8 is on SP1, if not for the life of the machine. So Win7 Pro might be good for you, if you need functionality.

You what you need to consider is: the processor in the W530 will benefit you more than the screen on the W520 and you prefer one keyboard on the other.

Should I buy this or not?

Well, if you get the Xeon V3 they are locked to 2133 DDR4 ram. The 5960 X and other chips I7 Haswell E will load any DDR4 speed and are not locked. So you can get the amount of fast ram with the I7 CPU. ECC adds an extra clock for the ECC cycle which is a marginal increase in latency ram. However, the difference between DDR4-2133 and DDR4 2666 is big enough, especially when it comes with 4 +, media. That's why you want unbuffered ram, but need you an I7 using it at a higher speed, 2133. Also there is at least some Xeon boards that used same handle without buffer ram, so maybe it's not an option on this Dell anyway. You certainly want the Quadro K4200 of pit and get a 980GTX card. The Quadros are slower and do not have HDMi 2.0. They generate more heat at this point than the 900 series cards. I would like to ask what PSU is that Dell however since this is a major limitation of upgrade of video and other cards if it is small.

or a GTX 580 or do you need a Quadro 4000 for editing HD as shown on the NVidia site?

    Thank you

To be honest, the Quadro 4000 is actually less than the GeForce GTX 460 and GTX 560 (material-spec-wise): the Quadro 4000 is based on the original GF100 GPU which is relatively inefficient in terms of performance per watt compared to the new Fermi GPU. In this case, the GF100 Fermi was supposed to have 512 CUDA cores (but only a maximum of 480 CUDA cores are enabled in the end because they were in the GeForce GTX 480) - but the Quadro 4000 has half the disabled GF100 CUDA cores, having for result only 256 CUDA cores enabled. (For comparison, most version incision of the GF100 GPU used in cards GeForce, GeForce GTX 465, always has 352 CUDA cores active.) The series GeForce GTX 460 and GTX 560, however, are based on more recent and slightly more effective Fermi architecture versions. The GeForce GTX 460 SE is the slowest of the 460/560 GPU series, but has still 288 active CUDA cores. Both the real GTX 460 and GTX 560 (a lighter version of the 384-core GTX 560 Ti) 336 CUDA cores.

So the Quadro 4000 is still underspecced (GPU-wise) compared with the same a GTX 460 SE, and still less a GTX 560 Ti we have been recommended as a choice REGION (Bang-for-the-Buck). And even the top-of-the-line Quadro 6000 is only slightly faster than a GTX 470, but is even more slow than a GTX 480, 570 or 580.

  • TECRA S5 Nvidia Quadro NVS130M - sudden BSOD - Win 7 Pro 32-bit

After moving from Vista to Windows 7, everything worked fine until two days ago, when suddenly my laptop stopped working. I had to hard restart it, and then all hell broke loose.

    The problem is the following:

    Info part number: PTS53E-00S009EP - Toshiba Tecra S5 - 2 GB Ram Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0 Ghz - Nivdia Quadro NVS130M

Windows 7 Professional 32-Bit started to report all of a sudden and the error code 43 for the graphics card (Nvidia Quadro NVS130M). I got the latest nvidia drivers, so I uninstalled the previous and restarted the machine and installed the new. After the restart, the laptop crashed with a blue screen.

I went back to the last known good configuration (drivers vga adapter default of windows, which does not recognize the Nvidia Quadro NVS130M) and the laptop booted up normally allow me to get back into Windows.

I went to the Nvidia drivers previous, and arrived the same problem, blue screen, go back to the last known good configuration (by default windows vga adapter driver).

I went back to the latest drivers for the Nvidia Quadro NVS130M found on the download from Toshiba site, same situation as before.

I went backwards to the oldest drivers on the Toshiba Support downloads site, and the question remains.

Since August, I have Windows 7 Professional 32 - Bit and it worked fine, it is completely up to date, and have always used the two wit the factory default Vista and Windows 7 Nvidia drivers.

I have installed windows updates recently, the latest being early November 2011.

That recent change, about 15 days ago, it's that I've finally found the drivers for the SD card reader, they where for windows XP it is interesting enough, but Windows 7 immediately recognized the SD reader that she had not until then. He could not yet identify the kind of material, it has been.

I tried to uninstall the drivers from toshiba for the reader of SD card, but even in this case with this uninstalled and hardware disabled in the management of the material, when I try to use the factory drivers downloaded from Toshiba blue screen happens again.

Another symptom, I noticed is if the blue screen do not occur (when he does it specifically lists a file from drivers nvidia as the cause), the computer will stay with a black screen and the fan will operate at extremely high speed, but there seems to be no HARD disk activity, as the drive HARD activity on the laptop does not light at all.

I read there is a problem that can lead to the computer by blocking or gel at least that the latest version of the UPEK software is used. However it does not mention anything on a blue screen. Also, given that the blue screen error message specifies a Nvidia driver file name, he wouldn't do much sense this problem it was the UPEK fingerprint software that was the cause.

He wouldn't make any sense at all because if I leave the default vga only adapter driver and do not install a driver for the graphics card, everything works well, reader SD, UPEK Figerprinting, etc...

I had all this work, including the fingerprinting software until exactly two days ago for what the confusing too me.

I ran Endpoint Protection AV software from Symantec, the computer is perfectly clean, there is no virri and indication as abnormal.

I'm now totally ideas and I can't seem to find information on this topic.

Your help is very appreciated and urgent, because if all else fails, I would be forced to go back to Vista, something that I wouldn't really really really like to do, because of the hassle of reinstalling OS, Office and software for a total of more than 50 GB and due to the fact that Vista is significantly lower in so many aspects to Windows 7.

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

But have you tried to test the laptop with the new OS preinstalled? Try this and use the operating system has been pre-installed by Toshiba in this case, you might check if he s really a problem or a chip driver problem

  • NVIDIA Quadro: I plug 6-pin power adapter or connector 8 pin?

I am trying to install my graphics card Nvidia Quadro 6000 on a HP Z820 with a PSU 1125W

The Quadro card: 1x8pin auxiliary power connector and power connector auxiliary 1x6pin.

    My questions are

    1. in the connection of my power adapter, do I plug the unit into the 8 pin or 6 PIN auxiliary connector?

    2. where can I connect the other end of the power adapter?

    3. the power adapter must be a HP one or can I use any brand.

4, if it's HP, what is the part number

I would appreciate help on this.

First, it is important to know that there is another interface "6 to 8 pins" which is a feature of power-for - motherboard power ... you don't want that, sure, and connectors plastic is having different shapes.  You can see that he has 4 yellow wires (usually the supply wires) and would not have the sequence of correct wiring of a PCIe 6 to 8 pins supplementary power converter:

I don't know the show, too, is not what you want.  This looks like an 8 pin to two adapter 6 pins.  You want a 6-pin to 8 pin adapter.  Is attached another picture of the nVidia type tells you to do.  If you look at the hyperlink at the top of this post you will find the wiring of 6 pins on 8 wire and for your project, you will probably want to follow the advice of nVidia for best results.  There is power to the ground and 'sense' son to all be correctly connected to the adapter.

There is also some PCIe additional adapters that allow you to convert several sheets supply 4 son "molex" grouping in a single 6-pin PCIe or connector 8.  It is best to not do this if you have a power with official ones built in.  Your the fact, and to check the manual, it looks like your top rated power supply has 3 of these auxiliary PCIe power cords (G1, G2 and G3 will be printed on the side of the end of your 3 card).  On the other hand, offer reduced rated power of the Z820 has only 2 additional PCIe (auxiliary) cords supplied by it.

I don't know if you are forced to use a good 6-8 converter or could if away with plug 6 pin right in the correct position on the plug 8 pins of your videocard directly, according to article of the hyperlink.  I, personally, would get an adapter.

EDIT: Here is a picture of two ends of what is supposed to be a PCIe 6-pin supplementary power adapter PCIe 8 pins.  The first and third power pins 6 pins are officially DC 12v (some references have each of the first 3 pins being 12vDC) and subsequently, the rest are supposed to be a 'sense' or earthed.  When I look at the plug 8-pole end wiring I do not see a ground wire or ground jumper coming to pin 8.  I would not recommend it, unless I'm wrong about his son:

  • Tecra M9: When a driver WHQL XP for NVidia Quadro NVS 130 M will be available

    Hello

I am trying to downgrade a Tecra M9 from Vista to Windows XP and I want to know when a driver WHQL for NVidia Quadro NVS 130 M will be released because the latest version from the support CD is a beta version and is not WHQL.

    Thank you very much

But - this important if the driver passed whql? In my opinion NO, because this thing whql is a pure invention of microsoft. If I were you I would install that drivers matter so certified or not and if you really have problems, then you can always give some feedback.

By the way: where sought pilots?
