Should I buy this or not?

Well, if you get the Xeon V3 they are locked to 2133 DDR4 ram. The 5960 X and other chips I7 Haswell E will load any DDR4 speed and are not locked. So you can get the amount of fast ram with the I7 CPU. ECC adds an extra clock for the ECC cycle which is a marginal increase in latency ram. However, the difference between DDR4-2133 and DDR4 2666 is big enough, especially when it comes with 4 +, media. That's why you want unbuffered ram, but need you an I7 using it at a higher speed, 2133. Also there is at least some Xeon boards that used same handle without buffer ram, so maybe it's not an option on this Dell anyway. You certainly want the Quadro K4200 of pit and get a 980GTX card. The Quadros are slower and do not have HDMi 2.0. They generate more heat at this point than the 900 series cards. I would like to ask what PSU is that Dell however since this is a major limitation of upgrade of video and other cards if it is small.

  • Intel ARK Intel Xeon processor E5-2620 confused v3 on the calculations for the CPU.

    Hello

I know that this topic is tedious, but the I am not sure of the ESXi County. Now I have to buy new servers, I have not in a long time. Intel CPU base use hearts and son. Intel Xeon processor E5-2620 v3, carrots = 6; Son = 12 and Hyper-threading.

    As defined by Intel:

Carrots is a material term that describes the number of independent CPUs in a single computer component (die or chip).

Threads, is a term for software for the base ordered sequence of instructions that can be passed by or handled by a single processor.

The total number of processor on an ESXi host hearts would be 6 * 12 = 72? or 6 If the Threads do not count in the calculation; which is I guess?

The number of logical processors on an ESXi host? (6 * 12) * 2 = 144? or 12 If the Threads are not count in the calculation; which is my guess?

    Thank you

    DRUMDUDESAN

Each physical heart can handle essentially only one thread at a time. With active HyperThreading is 2 by heart physical threads.

So 12 son is the result of:

    6 x 2-wire hearts each = 12 threads total

that presents itself as 12 logical processors in vSphere.

I'm curious, what exactly is your problem?

The system requirements for PSE14 and ss14 requires Quick Time 7 on Win or Mac.

I just checked that I had not installed on my PSE14 on 10 to win Quick Time 7. No problem, but I rarely videos, and I have other viewing software like VLC media player.

Just out of curiosity, I installed Quick Time 7 without problem.

Wouldn't be a problem with Premiere Elements or Mac?

  • What O.S. will have access to 8 GB of RAM on an IBM Z - Pro with two Xeon processors

Hello everyone and thanks for looking. I have an old IBM Z - Pro with Dual Xeon 3.06 gHz processors. The owner's manual says that the machine will hold 8 GB of RAM. This is a SM 6221.
What Microsoft OS will allow me to have access to this memory? I don't know if it's a 64-bit computer. I don't think so.

    Hello

Microsoft 64-bit operating system can read high-capacity RAM.

Vista 64 x is able to read up to 16 GB of RAM and
Windows 7 64 x is able to read a huge 128 GB of RAM.
    Now, it's huge!

If the CPU is lower, it does not support VT - x so that you will not be able to run 64-bit guests.

  • Liquid workstation HP Z420 cooling soloution for Intel Xeon E5-1620

I had a series of accidents on my Z420 rendering of 3D models and usually all while using the software 3D (cinema 4 d). It uses 100% of all 8 cores when rendering and it overheats and crashes, without notice. I am wanting to study the HP liquid cooling solution but I can't find anywhere online, I really didn't have a clue where to look all of this and I really hope that someone can help out me here by specifying where to buy because I can't even find anything on the site of HP? I'm not ready to change the affinity of cinema 4 d at least hearts because I am told by the computer scientist he will simply overheat it anyway and it will be 100% longer which could lead to huge problems. Oh and a software that strangles the process won't work because I am running windows 7. Any help will be massively appreciated!

    Hello

HP offers a cooling liquid for certain workstations. You can contact the HP Support or sales of HP to see the availability of cooling water for your particular model Z420. Check this page 6.

E5-1620 has four cores (eight threads using hyperthreading).  See the above referenced manual page 3.

Check with the manufacturer of application software and find out what they suggest to help with your problem.  A processor with multiple cores processors help? Are there other means and technology (SSD or a faster video, TESLA GPU processor card) that will help the rendering process?

  • Support Intel Xeon X 3430 in ESXi?

    Hello

Someone has already tried to install VMWare ESXi 4 on the platform Intel Xeon X34xx (specifically Intel Xeon X 3430)?

Dell has a very good price on the PowerEdge T310 server based platform Intel Xeon X34xx (X 3430, X 3440, X 3450, X 3460 and X 3470). X 3430 is above all a good deal. 8 MB of cache, it supports RAID, up to 32 GB of RAM, has a hot HD option and the diagnosis of LCD.

I need to get a server to run ESXi to my Cisco CCIE Lab, but I do not know if the Xeon X34xx platform is supported. If it is not supported, my next choice would be a Dell PowerEdge T410 with Intel Xeon E5504, 2.4 GHz, 4 MB cache, 800 MHz Max Mem. So, is supported in Intel Xeon E5504 and everyone ran ESXi on this platform? Is it powerful enough to run the servers of VoIP 4-5 (CUCM, UC, CUCCX, presence etc) at the same time?

    Thank you!

The processor can work very well and as Anton says that it's just a matter of time before hardware platforms the 34xx have been tested. The processor and the motherboard are probably less problematic. The other components are the problems. The hard disk controller and network cards cause most of the problems with installing and running ESXi. The 410T you mentioned must be able to meet your needs, but you should make sure that you have a raid controller supported if you want a RAID protection. The on-board controller doesn't support RAID that ESXi is concerned, although you should be able to install individually with SATA drives.

  • vSphere CPU for vMotion - Intel Xeon compatibility

Can anyone point to an article that shows what Intel Xeon processors are compatible in a vSphere cluster?

A host with a Xeon 54xx series procs can join a cluster with Xeon 55xx series procs or a series 56xx procs?

    Thank you

Take a look at http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003212 which lists the compatible CPU types. Article has not been updated for ESXi 5 day yet, so you can see the different names of basic CVO in vCenter 5.

  • VMotion CPU compatibility: Intel Xeon 5150 and 5450

    Hi all

I have a client that has the following servers running ESXi 3.5:

IBM x 3650 with Intel Xeon 5150 (to two cores)

IBM x 3650 with Intel Xeon 5450 (quad core)

I think that the two processors are not compatible VMotion. What are my options?

    1. enable CVS?

    2. hide the CPU mask in vCenter?

    Help, please. Thank you.

As long as you use Virtual Center 3.5 Update 2 or later version, then you can update CVS.

  • Engine Mercury works only with NVidia Quadro cards?

    Fellow Forum members,

Prices for NVidia Quadro cards are INCREDIBLY expensive. Finally, I checked the prices were as shown below:

    Quadro 6000 = $4,000

    Quadro 5000 = $1,800

    Quadro 4000 = $1,000

My question to someone there is '' done the Mercury Motors CS5 for After Effects and Premiere Pro exclusively work onlly with Nvidia Quadro series cards? ''

If the answer to my question is NO, then I would that this thread can be dedicated to the sharing of alternative solutions for graphics cards that will not burst his portfolio.

My motherboard supports technology ATI CrossFireX Quad, 3 - Way CrossFireX and CrossFireX and NVIDIA Quad SLI, 3 - Way SLI, and SLI technology.

My way of thinking, that's if I could use two or three ATI cards bridged together to match 80% of the performance of Quadro 6000 at a fraction of the cost, I'd be happy.  However, the bump in the road is if the motor Mercury of CS5 is compatible with bridged ATI graphics cards together?  Motor Mercury of CS5 cares what type of graphics resident cards into the motherboard in order to deliver 100% of the performance?   Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Intel Xeon with DDR3 vs Intel Core i7 with DDR4

    Hello world

I need to improve my old HP Z200 workstation because my processor is not enough for a film in GH4. In the Task Manager, CPU is often 100%...

But I don't know which is the best, an i7 or Xeon.

I don't know if it is better to change my motherboard and my CPU to an Intel Xeon E5-2620v2@2,1GHz keeping my existing DDR3 ECC 16 GB memory or change my motherboard with an Intel i7 5820K@3,3 GHz and the purchase of new DDR4 memory not 16 GB ECC.

Solution 2 is a little more expensive, but no matter if this better than solution 1.

Both CPU are 6 cores and cache 15 MB. Hope this is better than my Quad Core Xeon X3450@2,67Ghz

And sorry for my English, I'm from France

    Thanks for your help,

    Best regards

    Nico

Definitely go for the i7 - 5820K. It is much faster than the Xeon slow.
