• Factory reset does not work

  I have a Nighthawk X 8 I bought two months ago. Up to today (March 7), it worked fine. Today I came home and found it did not work. I tried to access it via routerlogin.net, nothing worked.   I had a 'Blue Screen of Death' on my T42. I decided to use the button "Access IBM" and to "restore the contents of the factory.

  However, once I did this, different devices (listed in the Device Manager) were not working properly. The its (SoundMax) did not work at all (no sound from the computer). The INTEL 2200BG wireless network card does not work. I even installed the driver (downloaded on the IBM Web site) and install the driver. Then the noise started working (but the volume buttons on the keyboard do not always work.) I have a little trouble getting all the devices to work.

  I had restored the contents of factory once before, and I don't remember the devices does not. Shouldn't this operation set all devices to work correctly?

  OK, I solved my problem.

  It turns out that the procedure to "Restore the content of the plant" is not complete. A lot of the never executed restore procedure and so many devices were missing (and many pre-installed software).

  Saturday, my computer has a horrible virus on it... I don't know yet what it was. Needless to say she caused explorer.exe restart constantly to make the very difficult to use computer. It has elements of a sasser (play with my hosts file) but apparently the spazzy explorer.exe is a Vundo problem. HOWEVER, whatever this thing is missed time Kaspersky (which I am more able to install) and AVG, AND software tool windows malware and the removal of sasser Symantec tool.

  unlinke other questions, I have access to the Panel to reset the default printer. But when I do (and confirm with OK) it says "Please wait" and the lower led (the one next to the incomplete circle) flashes - and that's all. Not reboot, nothing (after 15 minutes).

  I would like to give the printer so I want to make sure that no information (in particular, no information on printouts) remains on the printer. Y at - it another way to ensure a factory default reset (and perhaps to check it out later)?

• YOGA 10 gel - factory reset does not

  I have my Tablet 10 YOGA for two weeks and today the Lenovo logo is on the screen. I have followed the reset factory still that the logo that appears.

  It's maybe just me, but you wouldn't think that a 'Factory Reset' would be empty all the stuff non - factory?

  The reset is NOT clear the usb_1 out directory.

  Is it normal?

  The Factory reset or restore to factory default is oriented to the 'Configuration' of the DMP.  Flash content is not deleted as you saw.  The FAQ you are referencing is a good way to remove the files if you want.  So the DMP works as expected.

  Your HARD disk might have bad sectors or your mulfunctioning of ram... Run the HARD drive test with seatools and rum memory with memtest test.

  The dvd player will be noread disc. The drive is there in my computer but cannot read the content. I went to the pc with the problem world, they tried to attach an external hard drive, but it had the same problem, so they told me to restore to factory settings.

  Stay away from PC World and other 'big box' stores. If you cannot do the following works yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the laptop to a local professional. Get recommendations from family, friends and colleagues.

  1. remove the hard drive and put it in a USB drive enclosure (or use an adapter) and attach it to a working computer. Then, copy your data.

  2. Once your data is safe, put the drive in the laptop and do a factory restore. If all goes well, after that, restore your data from the copy that you made. If everything is not well and/or the factory restore does not work yet, you have the hardware failure. What you do then much will depend on which components have failed and how old is the laptop; that is, it is worth spending anything to fix. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
