WAG160N uptime

This router shows the time since the last disconnection dsl, if so where can I find?

As far as I know, no... at least in WAG120N, but both are very similar with respect to their web interface

You can search for "ADSL is disconnected" on the page of the newspaper, even if it isn't this practice:

Or you can do better, use the web browser to find "ADSL is disconnected" in the journal of text:

Best regards

    Hello

This is the normal case "quick start" is selected in the power options menu and there is really no problem with that. "

You can always check that this is the case as follows.

Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close all open windows.

Stop the notebook, then start it again and check the value of the CPU operating time.

Personally, if it is not causing any trouble, I would turn on "quick start".

  • Ports used by Uptime.exe

I need to know the requirements for uptime for a remote server. The following are the required details

    • Services that must be running on the remote server
    • Ports that need to be oped on the firewall on the remote host
    • Other requirements which must be enabled on the remote host

Please provide the details above. This is necessary, as I don't have servers that are through the firewall for which I need to get uptime.

  • WAG160N, Windows 7 download problems

    There are 3 phones home

    -Acer, Vista 32-bit

    -Lenovo SL500, Win 7 64 bit

    -MSI VR330, Win 7 32 bit

    All laptops connects via WiFi.

Acer with Vista has no problem with the download. I can download 1 MB in gmail, flickr, friendfeed.

The other two with Win 7 cannot download files + 1 MB in gmail, flickr and friendfeed.

    Nod 32 installed all 3 a.

Lenovo is my main computer. I disabled the firewall, Nod32, the modem firewall, but nothing has changed! As Vista can download there must be some compatibility issues! With the help of ethernet also does not help.

Should I upgrade to Vista just to keep the WAG160N?

    I don't think so.

    It is a ridiculous problem.

I have enough problems of connection of wag160n and intend to return it and get a lot less another modem of brand.

Today, I wanted to follow a different path and started to uninstall suspicious software, one by one:
    (1) uninstall the IE8, nothing has changed
    (2) Unisntall the flash plugin, nothing has changed
    (3) uninstall the Nod32, PROBLEM SOLVED!

So, I learned that the disabling of anti-virus software does not stop.
I'm glad that this problem is related to a 3rd party software, not the hardware or the operating system.

    NOD32 version: 4.0.468.0

  • WAG160N without internet connection

Before I throw it I thought it might be useful to post here to see if anyone knows more than me about this problem.

In the meantime, I have another wireless modem of va - working ATM I write/post - isn't all that urgent.

My WAG160N router/modem I bought new 4 or 5 years, died a few weeks - over a period of an hour, or so he started to work very slowly - slowing to 10 or 20 kB / s from the usual sluggish 150ish KB/s that we normally get here.

And then it stopped working altogether - and light stopped coming at all on the Internet.

I pulled out and found 3 or 4 bulging capacitors in (which had burst at its lower end) that I replaced - faced with the horrible HMP weld seems to have been used to join them for the circuit.

But still no Internet light or connection - other (wireless LAN) and DSL unit lights work, it goes through its startup sequence apparently OK and I can access all of its settings in the 192.168.1.1 page - including trying unsuccessfully to connect from one of these pages.

It is interesting to try re-flashing the firmware - 1.00.15 currently? - or replacement of another part of the map will be working again?

All suggestions gratefully - received I couldn't bear to throw a piece of equipment like that without having done everything I could reasonably to operate again.

    TIA

    PaulMW

Well Saffrons7 you were right .

And I was a bit wrong - do not understand that the settings must be correct before he was able to connect on the www.

It was just a matter of re-assignment - and check - all the different parameters (including manual set VPI and VCI) my ISP and bingo!

    He immediately started working again!

So, as you have said - and I got to halfway, iffen I could get to its router pages could not have been too much wrong with him - this is why I was so keen in seeing iffen I could restart. And also to get a little more networking know-how - which I am a little short on!

The replacement of the value 2 or 3bananas caps bulging / burst seems to have been the solution.

I use what I write this - of course - Linux I rarely use winDoze for the internet - as it is said: with winDoze you might as well put all your info on a billboard next to the road. and if you have forgotten your passwords under linux, you might as well format your hard drive.

But the caps curved several have tended to indicate wear cheaper - which may well fool you again at some point in the future - so it's good to have 2 modems now .

    See you soon

  • WAG160N will not connect to NAS

Laptop connected wireless to WAG160N, running Windows 7.

Desktop computer Windows XP connected by cable to the ethernet port on WAG160N,

I have a storage device (Vantec Nexstar Lx Ultra) network connected by cable to a port ethernet on the WAG160N.

Both machines have Norton 360 Version 3 Prem

The Office takes up the NAS no problem.

The laptop cannot pick up the NAS at all. I tried juggling setting Norton but don't really know what Im doing. The strange thing is, when I plug the phone in via a cable to the WAG160N then SIN comes and works without any problem at all.

There on the WAG160N that need to be changed to allow a laptop that connects wireless to connect to the NAS?

Since your laptop are you able to Ping SIN? If Yes, then your, click Start - RUN - type laptop computer "\\NAS IP" and press enter and when you are prompted for the user name and password, type the NAS username and password, and click OK... and he will show you the folder that you shared on your NAS, right click on it and select 'Map network drive' and below check the "Reconnect at logon" box and click Finish.

Once its done, it maps the drive on your computer and you should be able to transfer the file to your NAS.

  • WAG160N and an Apple Airport extreme

I recently bought an Apple Airport extreme, and in order to use the guest account, I need to disable DHCP and NAT on my WAG160N settings and allow extreme settings. Otherwise the extreme is in bridge mode and therefore doesn't let me create a guest account.

Could someone tell me please what settings I need to change in the WAG160N so that it acts as a modem only and not a router.

    Thank you

You can't disable NAT on the WAG unless you go to fashion of the bridges, which means that it becomes a simple modem. You cannot use the wireless on the WAG, nor anything else. In bridged mode, you configure Airport Extreme as main router connecting to PPPoE (or whether you need from your ISP).

Switch mode bridge on the main configuration page.

  • Problem with wag160N router wireless

Hi all. Sorry for the typos etc I am new in the forum :-). Please, if the subject has moved to another subforum do it.

So, here's the problem: last week, I bought the WAG160N wireless-N adsl2 + modem router (version 2) and yestreday I formatted my laptop 2, so today I decided to install a new one.

I work 2 hours on it now, but still I can't find a solution. I started with the first cd, as required by the guide. Everything works well until the installation wizard step that attempts to connect to the router. At this point, he's looking for 5 minutes and then he said that he is not able to communicate with the router and wonder to check the connection again. I connected everything as it should (the gray wire of telephone jack to the socket of the router that says DSL, cable - ethernet - yellow of Gate 1 of the router ethernet for the laptop and then the AC/DC to the router and power.) I click next to the installation wizard, then he said to the power on the router... I do it and it checks then 5 minutes and again, he says that can't find it and tell me to double check and the story goes like this. I made 6 - 7 times but nothing. I also used the netwotk magical Wizard that was installed to fix the problem (because it recognizes that there is connection problem), but is not able to set in! What should I do? The ISP said that they don't sell Linksys products for their stores (I do not know the ISPS work on other countries, here they sell routers, adsl packs ect in their store) so they can't provide me with support. Can someone help me? Its the first time I use a linksys for me product and I don't know how to install it without the cd.

I use windows vista pre sp2 on two laptops.

I must also say that I have no problem with the ethernet connection the baudtec my ISP gave in the pack, that I bought when I activated my ADSL (2 years ago). IM connected with it now to view the topic.

Sorry for my bad English and im sore right now that I can't think of what other info you might need, post and I will answer you.

    Thx for reading.

    Hello

Connect your device directly to your pc via ethernet cable.

Try to find the ip address of your device using the arp - a command

Try to ping your router/adsl with address (192.168.1.1) ip of the device. u should get a response, if no response then in your pc check the LAN connection properties and enable DHCP.

If you get always no response to ping the device, try and set an ip address in the range (192.168.1.1 or whatever your ip devices). Now, try to configure the device to cd Wizard help.

    Correct me if im wrong.

  • Bridge WAG160N-mode configuration

    OK, here's what I'm trrying:

I have this old wag160n, which is very old and I am facing a lot of problems with it. I have ourchaced a new E2500 router licksys wireless and I try to use the WAG as a modem.

WAG is configured as: Wireless is disabled - encapsulation is bridge Mobe - DHCP is disabled.

E2500 is configured and works perfectly (I tried with the 2wire and it worked fine, but I have to give that back to the ISP), but when I hang it to the WAG, there is no internet access

Hi farafiro, since the WAG160N and the E2500 have the same IP address, you really need to change the IP address of the 2nd unit 192.168.2.1 to conflict of IP.  It's like cascading two routers in a network.

I found this link, http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=3733 and you can just follow the steps in configuring LAN - WAN.

  • WAG160N - start problem

I have this router WAG160N and the last month or two, when you go to turn it on (I don't leave it on 24/7) it does not start as before. Just a light comes on and that's all. Swicth it turns off and back on again and the power light flashes and then finally start.

Is this a sign that the router is endangered?

    Darren

Hi Libra84. Have you tried to do a hard reset of the device? You can try it first, and if the same thing happens, then maybe it's time for you to get a new one. To make the correct reset:

1 press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds, while the unit is turned on.
    2. release the button and unplug or switch off the device.

    Once done, reinstall the parameters.

If you want to find a new modem-router ADSL, you can check this link, http://www.linksys.com/en-eu/products/gateways/X3000

    and this one, http://www.linksys.com/en-eu/products/gateways/X3500

    Hope these helps.

  • WAG160N only restart (reboot loop)

    Hello

A few years ago, I have buyed a WAG160N I have ever used, because once I have plug power, it began to restart and reboot loop...

Is there something to do with it, or should I put it in the trash?

    Firmware using is probably Ver.1.00.15

    Any help please?

I have never received no new support from Linksys at the Morocco...

    Thank you

    Cedric

In this case try changing the plug. Try to do 30/30/30 hard reset. The following procedure will clear the NVRAM and set the router back to the default values:

~ ~ With the power on, press and hold the reset button the back of the unit for 30 seconds

~ ~ Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for 30 seconds

~ ~ Plug it now ALWAYS reset button a final 30 seconds...

After the following procedure to reconfigure the WAG160N. If the problem still persists, then try using a different power of the same specifications adapter.

This is because it is sometimes cached in your browser or Cookies and how your Internet connection is trying to load the Page, it is simply a Bug in the browser Google Chrome and probably will be fixed on a new version of the browser.

Fix this bug in browser, it's easy because it's because of 3 different things.

    * The first thing to try is go into Options and clicking Reset to default values and refresh the Page or F5 shortcut key to refresh the page you are on Google Chrome.

    * The second error 324 is to simply just restart your Chrome browser.

    * Sometimes, it can be your Internet connection, the cause of error when browsing websites in chrome so just restart your Internet connection.

I hope this helps you solve this problem.

  • Samsung GS II - cannot detect Linksys WAG160n v2 annex a 2.00.20.

    Hi all

appreciate if you can share your experience with this problem of mine.

I recently bought the smartphone Galaxy SII.

Problem is I can not connect to my wifi at home (Linksys WAG160N), where my laptops (I have 2) and were able to detect and easily connect other phones Nokia 5800 Express music and Nokia E63 and Samsung Galaxy Ace.

While they inspected yet, I can I have narrowed it down to the bottom and would ask support or confirmation, but also a clarification.

WiFi (Linksys WAG160N), I use the following settings band Radio: Standard 20 MHz channel and channel Standard: 12 - GHz 2,467.  With these settings, my Samsung GSII is not able to detect Wifi so my laptop computers and other phones can.  Same results with the Standard string: 13 - 2,472 GHz.

When I changed the Radio band parameters: Standard 20 MHz channel and channel Standard: 11 - 2,462 GHz, GSII Samsung is able to detect, but my laptop is not able to detect the Wifi.

How can I make my Samsung GSII detects Wifi when I use the Standard channel: 12 - 2,467 GHz or standard channel: 13 - 2,472 GHz.?

I tried other channels Standard.  6, 7 and 10.  Worked OK for the GSII Samsung and my laptop for 1 day only.  My laptop restarts, I discovered that the phone could not connect to my Wifi while the GSII can always connect.  During thew this message, I use another channel 5 - 2,432 GHz standard. for the second day.  Hope this can solve the problem.  But my initial request for support is still standing - how can I get Samsung GS II detect my Wifi with the standard channel 12 or 13?

Other settings that I currently have are:

    Beacon interval: 50

    Fragmentation threshold: 2304

    RTS threshold: 2304

    Best regards

Happy new year 2012 - the hope of a quick solution to this problem

    Hi all

    Thanks for the reply.

I was able to activate the Wifi on my Samsung GS II detection by changing the settings as suggested.

It is strange that my other phones and laptop could access but not my Samsung GS II until what I changed the settings.  Problem is that I have try several settings to succeed as my laptop then fails while the Samsung GS II is able to detect.  Finally I m, era to find a combination of settings that allow all my phones, laptop and Samsung GS II to be successfully connected.

Radio band: Standard 20 Mhz channel. Channel 5 - 2,432 GHz standard.

  • Annex WAG160N has v2 ADSL2 + Wireless Modem Router disconnecting at random intervals

The problem is that my WAG160N router v2 isolates at irregular intervals for no clear, obvious and clear reason. The router always reconnects to the Internet automatically, but we want to have stable internet connection so it does not interfere with our download and my game online. Sometimes, it will be disonnect once a day, two days, three days or more times a day.

This problem occurred for about nine months and we have tried to solve this problem for four months without success and very little progress.

There are nine devices connected to this router:

Desktop Mac (connected by an Ethernet cable)

    MacBook Pro my mother (wireless)

My mother of Windows (wireless) laptop

    My Iphone (wireless)

    My mom (wireless) iPhone

    Our Ipad (wireless)

    Our printer (wireless)

My Xbox 360 (connected by an ethernet cable)

My PS3 (connected by an ethernet cable)

First of all, I contacted our ISP. They conducted tests on our phone line and there was no obvious abnormalities. They then made some adjustmenets to our connection, but none of the improvements to our stability of connection, either. I also did the isolation test which did not help. Then they came to the conclusion that this router is the source of the problem.

Then I noticed that when my Internet was disconnected we had active DHCP and it kept more than one of our devices, assigning the same IP address. On my desk he showed me an IP address conflict message whenever we have disconnected from the Internet. So I disabled the DHCP and manually assigned each device to their own individual IP addresses static. This has not fixed my problem even if there are more conflicts of IP addresses.

Then I tried to connect my computer directly to the WAG160N v2 via an ethernet cable, but each single device is always give themselves up randomly. Therefore, we have established that this problem occurs with the cable connections and wireless.

After that, I did some research on the Internet and made a lot of adjustments and modifications that do not stop this problem.

These including: lower the MTU to 1365, changing to channel wireless channels 1 and 6 (we were on channel 11), using a standard instead of a wide channel, lowering the keep alive - redial period from 30 seconds to 20 seconds, increasing the Redial period keep living to a maximum of 180 seconds, disable UPnP and disable the DHCP server on the router configuration page.

I have same Access Restriction is turned off.

I also checked with my ISP and we use the correct settings of Encapsualtion, multiplexing and Virtual Circuit.

So I thought I would post here because we really need to have this fixed a problem and we do not know how. I can't find the logic of why this is happening. This problem shouldn't be complicated.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

My Internet has not disconnected for a week.

Without reset and reconfigure my router, I did the following in the advanced wireless settings page:

Reduced from 100 to 75 beacon interval

Lowering of the threshold of Fragmentation of 2346 to 2306

Lowering of the 2346 to 2304 RTS threshold

I found this info from a different thread.

I'll post again less than a week and if my Internet connection is always stable, I will mark this message as my solution.
