Wake up auto and sleep mode. Please explain.

Hello

For as far as I understand this (SystemListener-> powerOff()) event called when the application is delivered in mode waiting (not the total power off). In this mode the awakening can automatically switch to the alarm time.

Issues related to the:

How can my application determine that the device will mode sleep?

In both cases (when the device goes to the waiting and the total power off - the same method of SystemListener called - powerOff())

How can my application automatically activate the device when it is in standby as awakening of blackberry application?

Please explain.

Thank you.

Yes, this is the exact reason that powerUp() exists. I use it in my controller class (s) to restart the thread of communication in the same scenario, when a user has auto-on/off and let the software running.

as I looked upwards, I saw powerOffRequested (int reason) in the SystemListener2 interface, the only reason listed is POWER_OFF_KEY_PRESSED. not very useful I guess.

  • What happens when Task Scheduler is scheduled to wake the computer from sleep mode

I have the windows vista Task Scheduler to wake the computer from sleep to run a command script. some tasks in the script work correctly and some do not. This is because the computer is "awake from sleep", whatever that means. This is not what is happening, because the tasks that the batch script runs when the computer is actually on, with display and all are very different tasks, it runs while the computer gets "awakened from his sleep", so what happens exactly when the task schedler wakes up the computer of mode sleep under vista? -Function keys does not work correctly. By pressing Fn + a F (F9 for example) on "key" works as if I just pressed the F key. For the failure, by pressing Fn + F5, while in the results of google chrome in web page update, but pressing on alone F5 does nothing, so I can't adjust brightnrss or the volume using the function keys, which is very worrying, because it seems that I have no way to adjust the brightness without them.

    Thank you in advance.

Solved the problem with mode 'sleep'. It appeared that it was a bad idea to update the drivers for the graphics card web site AMD Amd, I should have installed only the driver located on the hp support site.

  • Satellite M70: pauses and is slow when connecting power and sleep mode

My M70 with win xp is often slow logon, logoff, switch to sleep mode and stop donw. It seems to be a 'pause' for 20 sec or so doing nothing and then suddenly in advance.

I noticed the same thing on my M70, but there is nothing unusual. By record/stop several processes must be started or stopped, and it takes time. By Eve that last used applications and content of the last transactions must be recorded in the memory live and by flipping down several ongoing process must be stopped. In my opinion in this 20 seconds OS trying to stop running of processes and services.

As much I know it can't happen in a second or two and it takes a little time. Last week I preinstalled Vista. It runs a little faster but I have no pre-installed apps.

  • May not wake my computer from sleep mode

    Hello!

My computer wake from sleep very well. I stopped to do for awhile; then when I went to do it again, it wouldn't work. I don't know if this problem started; Therefore, I can't really do a restore on any given day.

When I move the mouse or press the space bar, the computer seems to wake up from sleep - everything seems to work fine (fans, lights, etc...) -only the screen goes black and says he'll sleep because there is no entry for the computer. I push the button to turn off the computer completely the computer. When it restarts and I check for any problem in the event viewer, I can't find anything that might have caused this to happen.

    Windows Vista SP1
    Compaq Presario desktop computer
    2 GB OF RAM

Here are the things I've tried so far...
    * I am logged - in as administrator of the computer
    * Checked with HP for the BIOS update - I've already been updated later on their Web site.
    * Using various Vista Web site tutorials, I played a bit with Windows power management settings (hibernate, sleep, hybrid, etc...).
    * Look for updates of video card - I already have the updated version.
    * Changed my Avast AV to moy.
    * Uninstalled AVG completely
    * Performed SCANNOW several times the last two weeks - no issue reported
    * A tried to generate a system health report, but I am not able to - see another question that I posted today.

I've seen suggestions on remove the BIOS battery or reset the BIOS to its default settings, but I did not feel brave enough to do all of this - not found reassuring advice that will not destroy my particular computer: o) I went into the BIOS to have a look at the power management settings , but there was something I could do with them - absolutely nothing on the standby or Hibernate mode or whatever it is.

THANK YOU for any help! I really appreciate it!
    Sincerely,
    Jenny

    Sure!
You should be able to go to the Intel website and look for your video chipset.
From there on, download the appropriate driver. I would put it on my desk as you can delete it when you are finished.

Once it is downloaded, you should be able to just double-click and install it.

I'm guessing that you went into the Device Manager. Who will stop you if the drivers are the same version.
The other way will overwrite the old driver.

In the worst case, you will need to uninstall the old drivers first and then install a new one.

Good luck, let us know how it goes. Matt Hudson

  • Problem with Intel (r) C600/79 X series chipset PCI Express Root Port 3 - 1 d 14 wake my computer from sleep mode

    Hello

(hope this is the right forum for this question)

I asked on the forums so, called Microsoft and the company that made my computer and no one can give me an answer - I don't know what to do anymore.

Whenever I put my computer to sleep (remotely or in the menu windows) it automatically wake up after a certain time (various from 5 seconds to 30 minutes) and he does it without doing me anything.

    So far I have tried:

    • BIOS upgrade
    • Updated many drivers
    • Out all my USB and stuff to see if that had nothing to do with it.
    • Anything that might wake my computer without getting so basically (mouse, keyboards, regular stuff etc.) disabled
    • Above all, I was googeling everything that is remotely close to the subject, I'm trying hard and again came away empty-handed.

As I said in the topic I think that I discovered that the PCI 3 - ID14 express root port is the problem, but then again, what the h *, is that, and I can't for the life of figure me out how to disable.

    My configuration:

    • Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
    • 2 monitors (BenQ and Acer)
    • Razer BlackWidow (keyboard)
    • Razer Imperator (mouse)
    • Logitech webcam
    • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 680
    • Intel Core i7-3820
    • Asus P9X79 (motherboard)

Anyone has any ideas or have had similar problems? I'm so sick of what I think actually just reinstalling EVERYTHING, but that requires a lot of work because I have so many things I need to keep.

    Any help, either, is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Thanks for all your efforts, but the problem is now resolved.

I downloaded manually all the network card drivers that had nothing to do with 'Realtek' or whatever it is. Then suddenly it worked. So I probably installed a correct driver, strange thing is that I update my network card in the past, but it does not solve the problem.

  • FindFile failed. Realtek network controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode please connect the cable.

So far, I went through 3 different network since that on my motherboard (z77 Extreme4) cards is dead. I always get the same exact error, has a restored system, reset the cmos, etc.. Any ideas on what is wrong?

    Finally, I resolve this problem.

My system has been recommended to Win8, but I didn't like it, then installed Win7, all driver installed fine (I installed the drivers provided for 8 to 7) except LAN.

My network controller was Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. Installing it was an error called "find file failed" followed by "unknown version".

So what I did is, uninstalled Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller in Control Panel.

    then for the Realtek site

http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=13&pfid=5&level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GETDOWN=false (link may not work a while, you just look for the query.)

then from there download driver "Win7 and Server 2008 R2 Auto Installation program (SID: 1669850) ' (possibly in second row, 6011 k). Install it.

It was smooth installation, now any file.

Hope this helps. See you soon

    • Mac or Windows, which version?
    • There may be several reasons for this.
      • Preferences corrupt.
      • Obsolete graphics drivers.
    • Solution
      • Try resetting the PS tools. (See screenshot)
