Wallpaper Linux comments mode full screen - top left corner only

This has "listen" for a long time. Most of my VMware clients is configured to mode full screen.

When I connect to some Linux guests, the wallpaper remains low and is limited to the upper left corner of the screen. The rest of the screen is black. The guest Linux OS works perfectly - it is an aesthetic annoyance.

In addition, the problem is not consistent. Sometimes the "quarter screen" wallpaper appears briefly in the upper left corner and then expands to fill the desktop as it should. I can't predict when it will be good or bad, but most of the time, it's bad.

I write an example of 14.10 Ubuntu, but I saw him with other versions of Ubuntu and other Linux distributions. Trisquel Linux 7 is an example of this morning.

The problem appears on many Mac running different versions of Mac OS X and went through several versions of VMware Fusion.

Any ideas on how to eliminate this aesthetic gene?

1. can save us time and share your script?

I have a MBPr and when I'm in the Office of its connected to a 27' Thunderbolt Display and resolution full screen is 2560 x 1440 and when it is not connected it is 1440 x 900.  So I coded the scrip for the current resolution, it switches to 1024 x 768, sleep for a second then toggle back the original resolution.

On my system in the script, the value of "$CSR" will either be 2560 x 1440 or 1440 x 900 and the current screen resolution is determined by:

CSR = "$(xrandr |) grep 'last' 1 m o | (sed-e s/courant / /'-e / / / g'-e /, / /') ".

Also attached a copy of fixwp in the fixwp.zip file.

2. do you know if there is a problem of Ubuntu (or Linux), a VMware problem or a problem with Apple?

I never really took the time to study because it was easy to get around the problem of script.  BTW I was also aware that switching between modes of virtual machine window would trigger the same results but that defeats the purpose of start full screen mode, so I scripted workaround.

Post edited by: WoodyZ - I changed the fixwp script as I noticed the grep argument really should be cited only no quotes.  Although in this case it does not affect the results, it's cleaner so the shell is not misinterpret it.  (The problem with something looking at writing for more than a year is you want to make additional changes and so I did.)

  • Command bar of fusion (top of screen) meets while mode full-screen Win XP vm

    I have looked around the blogs for a similar problem but haven't found any, maybe because I'm not using the right terminology, so please tell me the existing relevant documents or post it here. Thanks in advance for any help.

    I upgraded my Windows VM to Windows XP SP3, about two months ago, then updated my installation of Fusion to 2.0.1 a month ago. I use my Win XP VM to a programme on Access 2003 VBA and generally run in mode full screen to simplify the use of the PF keys, with the command bar top of page in auto-hide mode. The only other programs I run on my VM is Security Suite that comes free with Fusion 2.0 and Microsoft OneNote 2003, I use actively in taking notes that I work. Sometimes, I use IE to check the Microsoft security updates. Given that I've enabled auto-update from Microsoft, I rarely feel the need to manually check Microsoft Update. Almost always, I would have i-Tunes streaming background music on Mac OS X, and sometimes I would switch in Unity mode so I can start a browser in Mac OS to search for information on the web. Because I'm in development of access code mode, I sometimes cause program crashes of the window, not forcing me to restart my computer virtual when that particular problem surfaces. My preference of Fusion is configured to optimize the performance of the host, based on some tip I've read in this blog some time ago.

    Some time after XP SP3 installed and update of Fusion 2.0.1 top I believe VM fullscreen command bar randomly becomes unresponsive, leaving me with no way to access my OS X applications. However, my VM would still be sensitive if not, and I can always close. Usually, I stopped my WIndows VM, then merge and raise the Fusion and my WIndows VM. Since the command bar is usually in hide mode automatic when he becomes insensitive, he appears before the eyes and blocking application windows that I work with, so I know generally as soon as it happens.

    I think that I always had this kind of problem, but it doesn't happen often and I chalk up to the cost of working with a virtual machine, but now its happening too often I want to check if I did something wrong in the software upgrade. So, here are a few questions:

    1. my understanding is that VM Tools give me the ability to run in Unity Mode. The only documentation I've read on VM Tools for Fusion says that it need Windows XP SP2. I guess this note means that VM Tools for Fusion does not support Windows XP SP1. No problem, but are there any problem using the tools in the virtual machine with Windows XP SP3?

    2 when I upgraded to Fusion 2.0.1 recently, in the hope that it can clear up this particular problem, I downloaded the upgrade of the VMware download page. My question is: I have to reinstall explicitly VM Tools when I merge 2.0 to Fusion 2.0.1?

    Merger of command bar (top of screen)

    The UI element that is at the top of the OS X Desktop is called a menu bar and you be a programmer, I'm surprised that you don't know something as fundamental as that.

  • No alt key access to menus in the top in mode full screen Ps CS5 Ext?

    I use the trial version of CS5 on a Win7 machine, after using Ps CS3 for a good amount of time.  When you paint in Ps, I almost always mode full screen.  In CS3, you might be full screen mode and press that the alt key and the current letter to a top bar, like F for file or T to filter or W for Window and the menu that appears, and you could hit subsequent letters active to get the associated function.  I used alt + I, then E and H to return the canvas horizontally.  Super fast and awesome!  Now the E was changed to a G, but no matter.  The big problem is in mode full screen, this no longer works!  I just get an error sound when I hit alt and press together. I have to type tab to bring up the menus and palettes until I use the alt + feature letter in the top menu.

    Is this an oversight, or is there functionality to the deactivation of this use of the hotkey mode full screen?

    Any ideas?  If I put this in the forum feature request?

    Thank you!

    DB

    Hmmmm...

    NOT in full screen, the people on this forum sometimes complain that the Alt modifier key is activate menus and the following operations for which they use Alt the original (for example, to zoom out) for itchy trigger windows "ding" sound.

    ESPECIALLY full screen that is not the case with CS5 because the Alt key is not simply activate the menus.

    Interesting idea...

    Maybe Adobe does work that way on purpose so that they could say to people complaining about the first question to run Photoshop in mode full-screen.  It's just a guess.

    As a solution to your problem, you could of course expand the Photoshop window to be very close to the size of the screen and just keep running like a window, rather than using the mode full screen at all.  Yes, I know that this is not a solution, but only a possible workaround until such time (if ever) Adobe bypasses to fix the modifier keys to work properly (again).  I chose to use Photoshop it myself and other than wasting a bit of the screen it seems to be a pretty decent workaround for the use of the space F mode.

    Funny, is that it seems that adobe had the modifier keys about works in Photoshop CS4.  I wonder why they changed.

  • Ask stuck in Mode full screen

    Hello, my request of makerbot is stuck in mode full screen on el capitan. Im not sure if I have the application correctly all in full screen. The app was windowed with yellow red and green buttons at the top left as a normal window. Every since I went full screen I can't get it back. I tried to go through the application options to deselect full screen mode, but no options are available. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall using three different methods, the uninstall application provided with the software, manually and through "Appcleaner. Whenever the redownloads application and opens full screen again. This seems very strange because demand seems to be recognized as a window in OSx but also makes the dock and disappear from the top menu bar. El Capitan also doesn't let me choose this application to the separation of the screen. I have attached the Images. Is there a way I can uninstall it COMPLETELY? Or another way to prevent this?

    What happens if you are on your application and instead of the Green buuton using ESC top left?

    If it does not have you looked at the MakerBot options > Preferences

  • A different cause to SecurityError: Error #2152: mode full screen is not allowed.

    Hello world.

    I'm having a weird problem. I have a browser app that have a mode full-screen. It works very well with a button inside the flash (and against all expectation and forum discussions, it works in a function with no 'evt:MouseEvent').

    Anyway. If I call the same function from a javascript function, it shows a trace that I put the function, but it will not in FS mode...

    linke just that:

    private var _hold:Timer = new Timer (700: 1);

    _hold.addEventListener (TimerEvent.TIMER_COMPLETE, onHoldFinish);

    ExternalInterface.addCallback("IsStatic",IsStatic) ("getRaFullScreen", goFullScreen);     When it is called from here, will simply not...

    ...

    ElseIf (_target.hitTestObject (_btnFullScreen)) / / it can be a clicked button or slider placed by AR with the webcam
    {
    _btnFullScreen.onOver ();
    _objInteraction = _btnFullScreen;
    onStartTimer();
    }

    ...

    private function onStartTimer (): void
    {
    If (! _hold.running)
    {
    _hold. Reset();
    _hold. Start();
    }
    }

    private void onHoldFinish(e:TimerEvent_=_null):void / / it could be called directly, but not in the case of full screen
    {
    _objInteraction.OnClick ();      This is called a function within the class of button I made for use with the AR-webcam. Works like a normal button is clicked

    If (_hold.running)
    _hold. Stop();
    If (_fastHold.running)
    _fastHold.stop ();

    }

    private void onInteract(e:TrackerButtonEvent):void / / generated by an event in the line above with the huge comment
    {
    Switch (e.myNdx)
    {
    box 4: / / Index of the button FS
    goFullScreen();          Called to go here, will not be a mouse/keyboard event, but will work!
    break;

    }

    }

    public void goFullScreen(e:MouseEvent_=_null):void
    {
    txtTrace.appendText ("'-' + stage.displayState + '-'");                    both calls succeed

    Try
    {
    If (stage.displayState is StageDisplayState.NORMAL)
    {
    txtTrace.appendText ("'-' + 'Indo para FULL_SCREEN' + '-'");     both calls succeed
    stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;               the trace is made, but this line works just with the internal call.
    onEnterFS();                                                                                 A simple call to a javascript script to warn the site that the flash will FS_MODE
    }
    on the other
    {
    txtTrace.appendText ("'-' + 'Indo para NORMAL' + '-'");              both calls succeed
    stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL;
    }
    }
    catch (error)
    {
    trace ("" erro no FS ' ");
    }
    }

    To put an end to all of this, the client (which also controls the HTML / CSS / Javascript), wants the FS that by the javascript code (he has changed his mind at the top of the button within the flash). But now that the call comes from outside the flash, it does not work.

    Any tips?  Pleeeeaaase

    again, the flash player has to detect the entry of user for a swf on the web enter the fs.

  • Browser is stuck in mode full screen, restart does not help.

    I entered the mode full screen on a website and now cannot get out. Restarting my computer does not help. Problem is that when you are using Firefox, no other browsers. Firefox continues to open full screen mode whenever I open it, and I have to reboot in order to use another browser.

    Another problem is that if the mode full screen is enabled on a machine with two monitors, you can toggle focus on programs in another monitor. But whenever you focus on the browser full screen, black prompt is displayed again, which is annoying.

    Hi fordbzd,

    This could be a big question for https://www.stackoverflow.com or https://www.mdn.com

    These are third party, but they are nice places to start:

    It depends on the api used as well to track down the call for the notification of full screen or a video player:

  • Flash hangs using Firefox mode full screen

    When you try to view full screen videos, I get a message that Adobe broke down. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe and using current versions of Firefox. This problem doesn't seem to appear with IE.

    The problem in my case seems self imposed. I had already changed my settings to Visual effects for best performance. After changing the parameters of effects Visual back for 'let Windows choose... ", all my problems with the adobe software crashing mode full screen have been resolved. • Menu bar is not visible, but it is button mode full-screen. How can I fix it?

    While I'm in Firefox, it seems that I am mode full screen, as my menu bar is missing in the application, but when I looked at how to troubleshoot, it told me to click the mode button full screen (with diagonal arrows) but is not visible anywhere in my browser. If not, how can I exit full screen mode? Thank you!

    You get the menu bar if you close this window of Firefox?

    On Mac, you can't hide the menu bar as in Windows and Linux, and because the operating system control the menu bar then it may not be a Firefox problem.

    You can try:

    You can also try to remove the Firefox plist file.

    See how the .plist files becomes corrupt and troubleshooting results

    Come on in "library > Preferences" and remove the plist for Firefox (org.mozilla.firefox.plist).

    When I opened my browser, I now only have one quarter of the screen and manually do full screen by right-clicking and selecting full screen.how do I restore it when I open something it shows full screen?

    See if it works for you.

    I don't have any other browser except Internet Explorer. So I have to use it as an example...

    Open Internet Explorer > do not click the button full screen top right > manually use your curosr to expand or drag the window to full screen > exit Internet Explorer > re - open IE.
    It opens in mode full screen now?

    Do not forget this: window remembers the size of the last time it was opened. If it was opened and closed in fullscreen, it opens in full screen the next time.

    Another method which can achieve the same result > if your browser icon is a shortcut.
    Right click on your browser shortcut > properties > shortcut at the top tab > in the position to RUN, use the pointer, and then select Maximized > click OK when finished.
    It opens in mode full screen now?

  • Problem of mode full screen

    I have a Toshiba, and I am unable to switch to full screen mode when I watch things online.  There is a diagonal line in the middle of the screen with the top down and black white.  I can hear very well, but nothing is displayed.  Y at - it a setting or something I need to change to make it work?

    Hello Lizzard4210,

    Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

    If I understand that correctly ask you try following these steps should solve the problem:

    Switch between display modes in Windows Media Player

    Windows Media Player has five display modes: full (the default view), skin, full screen, compact, and mini Player. You can easily switch to the mode that works best for the content that you post.

    To switch from full mode to compact mode

    Compact mode allows you to view only the player controls.

    • Click the switch to compact mode button near the lower right of the player.
      Click the button again to restore the full mode player.

    To switch from full mode to skin mode

    Skin mode allows you to use a customized, alternative player view.

    • Press CTRL + 2 to change the player in the most recently selected skin.
      For more information on the mode of the skin, change to see how the Player looks using skins.

    To switch from full mode to skin mode

    Full mode is the default display of the player. It offers full access to all the features of the player.

    • Right-click anywhere on the player, and then click on switch to full mode.

    To switch from full or skin mode mini Player

    Mini Player mode allows you to minimize the player to the Windows task bar, while having access to playback controls and the ability to view visualizations and information about the currently playing item.

    • Right-click on an open in the taskbar area Windows (such as the system clock), point to toolbars and then click Windows Media Player.
      This activates the function and should only be run once. A check mark appears next to Windows Media Player to indicate that it is turned on. To switch to mini player in the future, simply click on the button cut in the drive.

    From the mini Player Full mode or skin

    • In the mini Player, click anywhere in the drive that is not used as a button or volume control. The Player returns to the way it was before.

    To switch from full or skin mode full screen

    Full screen makes videos, DVDS and photos fill the entire screen when you play them.

    1. Start to play (or pause playing) a video, TV show, DVD, or song with a visualization.
    2. Click the button to view full screen, or press ALT + ENTER.
      To return to full mode, press ESC. For more information about how full-screen, view a video using the entire screen.

    To prevent people to enter full-screen mode

    You can use the lock full-screen to prevent people to enter full-screen mode to another mode. You can use the lock full-screen, for example, during an evening to prevent customers to use other programs while playing your music.

    1. Play an item and then switch to view full screen.
    2. Click the mode button the lock screen.
    3. Type a personal identification number (PIN) four-digit and then click on the OK button.
      To turn off full-screen lock, click the release mode button full screen, enter your PIN, and then click the OK button. If you forget your PIN, restart your computer.

    Let us know if these steps solve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.

    Kind regards

    Hello Chuckimagine,

    ·         Are you facing this problem with your e-mail program, Internet Explorer or desktop screen?

    ·         To make changes to your computer remember what started?

    If this happens with your Internet Explorer, I suggest you press the F11 key on the key board, this will open Internet Explorer mode full-screen.

    If this happens with your desktop screen, I suggest you try to change the resolution of your computer screen.

    1. open display settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, on appearance and customization, personalization, and then clicking display settings.

    2. pursuant to the resolution, move the slider to the desired resolution, then click on apply.
