  • Second activation of Windows 7 after formatting hard drive

I recently installed Windows 7 on my desktop PC and activated.  However, due to display problems (which is happened because of Lightning), the technician computer that provided the proposed Windows 7 reformat the hard drive and I agreed.  After formatting, Windows 7 has been installed from the original disk even.  I am not able to activate now even after providing the correct product id.  The message says that I have to buy a new license!

Another curious aspect: I tried a day before activation, which asked me to download a software (from Microsoft of course).  I followed the instructions, and after a lot of screens, I thought I found 'successful activation.  However, booting my PC this morning, I find that I have 0 days for activation and that he chose the option "Activate now" with the same result (after providing the correct product id).

Add to my great surprise, after restarting the PC, he said now "27 days to activate. Activate Windows now.

Could someone please guide me how to actually activate my Windows 7 now?  (Either by the way, I had also installed MS Office 2007 before reformatting and activated.  After reformatting, Office was installed from the same disc again and I had no problems activating the office...)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

  • Gettinng less updates to Windows Update after formatting Windows

Original title: problem with Windows Update after PC format

Hello, I have Windows 7 x 64 OEM and today I had to format 6 times my PC because of my graphics card.

Problem which is the 5th time that I formatted my PC, WU shows me less up to date than the first time. And in format 6, least of all day.

How can I solve this problem? Thnaks.

    Hi Josele69,

Whenever you install a new update, it contains the updates released before. If you will get only the recent updates. When you run windows update, you also receive only for new updates when you're done with the updates offered. This might be a reason you found less updates after formatting windows.

  • I can save Windows.old after W-10 upgrade?

    R3 - 131T Mobile.

Finally got the W-7 complete upgrade.

With the Hynix HBG4e HDD, there is only 4.83 GB left on the disk.

Windows.Old uses 14.2 GB while Windows uses only 9.7.

Can I take off the .old and save it to a flash drive without jeopardizing the return to 8.1?

And what I want to do this?

There may also be a $Windows. ~ tmp directory that contains the restore information. During installation when I was told there was not enough room on my W3, I put it on the SD card and renamed Windows.81. You can also store a backup external image file.

  • Can't see BIOS UEFI more Windows 8 after formatting hard drive

After formatting my hard drive, I don't see the opportunity to get into the BIOS/UEFI firmware anymore. It has disappeared from the troubleshooting Windows 8.1. It happened because I had to reinstall Windows because I wanted to put Windows on the SSD drive, that I adapted. Firstly tried to transfer files to Windows from the HARD drive that went successfully but my problem was trying to get the HP BIOS so he can start, he had no option as I saw in the other BIOS, select the name of the SSD drive and turn it on just for 1 St boot, (the SSD has been installed properly so she did state in the BIOS on other things and in the windows to) the only thing that he had in this BIOS is a command to start menu I dragged the SSD to the first boot. Windows restarted and it wouldn't boot from SSD yet, so I put it in legacy mode that came to the top with my SSD info to start first, but when I saved these settings and rebooted Windows it says has no disc or can't find windows. So that's how I got where I am now and had to reinstall Windows to get it working again. Can't find away to get the BIOS/UEFI on windows 8 Troubleshooting menu option more?

    Hello

The way most simple and easiest way to solve your dilemma to use the HP recovery media to build on the SSD system use the same SATA port that is used by the original Windows 8 boot drive. I know that this procedure works, at least on the PC that I used.

I'm not a fan of 'cloning' of hard disks to boot HP UEFI active.  There are simply too many problems. Using the HP with a SSD recovery holder sized to accept all the original HP recovery system. This includes not user data. Then use your original hard drive as a device of emergency start and space remaining for the storage of data.

  • Can I safely delete "Windows.old" after a successful relocation?

I caught a virus and had to reinstall Windows.  The repair disk intalled a new version clean and left in a folder on my hard drive.  I moved all of the things I've wanted on an external drive, so I have nothing of it.  Can I remove it to clear disk space?

    Boost

Windows.Old contains all your old files of program, Windows, and personal spaces (C:\Users\your name\etc).

You can delete it (you need to maybe take possession of this first and reassign your rights to him). But like I said that it contains your old personal folders and office, you still have stuff in there you want.

    Kind regards

  • Can I install OEM windows 7 pro license on a preinstalled computer comes with windows vista after formatting the hard drive

There is a HP machine purchased with preinstalled windows vista home premium and now I want to format the computer so that I can load a license OEM windows 7 on it. I just want to know after the formatting and the license of windows 7 OEM loading if my system will work and also if the windows are enabled.

Please, your urgent response is needed here.

    Hello

You don't say where you got the OEM Windows 7 license of.

If you got it from another computer, the answer is no.

If you bought from Microsoft, you can.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

My July 2009 HP Pavilion dv7 required recovery time and restore even a 4th "boot-level! However, THIS time he did not reinstall the OS (original Vista, upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit OEM)! I have tried for a week and do not renounce a compurer almost 500 GB GOOD laptop that I KNOW CAN WORK.

I'm NOT a geek, but I'M old enough (50) to be accepted BASIC BACK in College. Yet, not all orders are accepted. I have to use my drive to repair Windows at startup (internal CD drive), external CD drive of my husband for ANY other CD - DVD for playback / recognized by the computer, many jumpdrives loaded with Boot Recovery data, a 1.5 to copies WITH the original external drive and upgrade CD, in the hope that the operating system has access only Since he has trouble with his own CD - DVD player.

I have executed dozens of diagnostics, reset the BIOS by default, changed the boot sequence to access recovery devices, I copied all THE original data of the disk partition recovery and the X:\Boot partition on drive C:\.

When I try to reinstall Windows 7, running indefinitely at the Stage 2 "Install Windows" or it gives me an error message: "Setup could not create a new partition or system to locate a system partition. See logs of installation for more information". (WHERE I have no idea they are!)

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.
