  When I download a file from the internet in Firfeox, download window stays open as soon as the download is finished, but the file name disappears from the window. In previous versions of Firefox downloaded file would remain visible in the download window after download was complete and I could simply click on the download window and open it. Now, because it disappears from the download window, I have to open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder that contains the newly downloaded file to open it, which is a pain.   Hello, I'm trying to update windows after installation and I get error code 80072F8F.  After looking for other pages, I checked my BIOS date and time are correct and Windows as well.

  I already activated Windows (silly me to check everything actually works) and I need a solution as soon as POSSIBLE.

  Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

  Normally when Windows is installed after the "Master Boot Record" of Ubuntu, MBR, will be overwritten. You can boot from a LiveCD and repair the MBR. However, there are 2 different approaches.

  You can run Firefox in Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

  Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

  If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

  • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
  • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

  and OK reboot.

  If the problem not occur until you run some Flash Media, want to set the Flash Click-to-play (Ask 'activation'). This will delay the Flash start on a page, until you approve.
