WCS vs controller license Question - 5500 series.

In the center of WCS license, there are two sets of licensing options: WCS and controller. Should I understand that:

-Number of licenses WCS is APs how can be monitored by WCS?

-Number of licenses controller is APs how can be connected to a WLC?

Thank you!

-Robert

  • Upgrade to the controller of the 5500 series

We currently have 5 4400 WLAN deployment series controllers in a school district and want to spend in the 5500 series. I do not know what are the best practices, but could deploy us a single controller 5500 series in one place to replace all the 4400's?

Each site has a connection of Metro Ethernet 1 GB depending on the size of the school or 100 MB. Can I install a single 5500 and manage all the access points on the Wan or do we need one on each site? We currently only have 150 access points but are planning on growth in the future.

It is for the most part depend on your traffic. If all of your servers and Internet are stored on your central site, there is almost no reason to have your controllers on your remote sites. However, if these types of resources are located remotely, you must leave the controllers out there.

I've set up two types of drawings, and both are fine. Put a smaller controller at each remote location and a great couple on the central site provides a lot of redundancy. The 5508 also offers 8 uplinks, each 1Gig, providing more redundancy to the site itself.

Your bandwidth is not at all a matter of concern, and the 5508 can support up to 250 points of access. I think that you have a good environment to deploy only the Central controllers, once again as long as your heads of traffic to your central site anyway for most applications. It is certainly very useful to have only a few controllers, instead of 5 or more to manage.

In the end, there is no difference in the designs between 4400 s and 5500 s.

Yes, you can directly upgrade 6.0.5E2 to 6.0.6 E4 and then directly to version 7.1. (10) E4. After the upgrade for the latter, you might even go to latest available patch as well.

-Yes, SSM1 - is able to effectively execute the 7.1.0E4.

    Hello

I noticed that all 5500 series (5510,5520,5540,5550,5580) ASAs are all end-of-life announced in March 2013. However, I don't see ASA 5505 on the list. Can anyone confirm that 5505 EOL has not announced?

The 5505 is not yet announced EOS/EOL, but the announcement can * t be extreme as 5506-X will be available soon (well, I hope... ;-)).

  • Unity double switch integration - licensing question unity 4.0 (3)

Unity double switch integration - licensing question unity 4.0 (3)

The unit was sold as a single IP integration. My client needs Dual Switch with an Ericsson PBX. I received the license key of ORC, and I opened a folder of TAC.

TAC said that the license file will not allow installation double switch integration. The Cisco SE on the account indicates that the license key will allow me to make the integration of the double switch.

Who is right? I heard that the moderator here has all the answers :)

The is correct. Any customer with a license 4.0 can do double switch. You don't need a special permit.

    Thank you

  • WCS number of licenses AP

    Hi guys,.

I have a question about the licensing of the WCS.

We have a license for 100 AP-s and our WCS in 99% of capacity.

What would happen if we add 1 AP more WCS (101 total)?

Will generate an error to the WCS, it will delete old AP - s added to make room for the new?

    TNX

WCS still works fine.  You will receive a message when you connect to the server indicating that you are over your limit of licensing and you must update the license.   You will NOT be able to add new controllers until you upgrade the license but you can always add access points.

  • Satellite A200 - Win 8.1: Mass storage controller yellow question mark

    Hello

After the installation of win 8.1 in old Toshiba A200 - everything is ok except the yellow question mark in "Mass storage controller" in Device Manager. So the sd card reader is useless.

Have an idea that is the driver for Win 8.1?

    Hello

Please don't get me wrong, but I hope you know how old is A200. Even more recent machines are not supported for Win8.
So, I can understand that you want to use newer OS on this old piece of hardware and if most of the stuff works pretty well, you should be satisfied.
In this case when you use 8 years machine designed for Vista and certainly not taken in charge for Win8/Win8.1... who cares about SD card reader. You know what I mean? ;)

Just disable the device in Device Manager and be happy.

  • Student license question

    Hey guys,.

Just a quick question on Labview student of license. I have the 2010 student software package and I was wondering if its possible to install in on a desktop and laptop at the same time with the same license.

    All the best,

    Tom

The general license contract should have been included with LabVIEW software. If you don't, you can read it here: http://www.ni.com/legal/license. For the Student Edition license you can install it on 3 computers. It's the same as a regular license "named" for the edition of non-students of LabVIEW.

  • HP Photosmart 5500 series main: installation procedure for the printer software

In my attempts to install the software of series of Prniner of 45510e-all-in-one Photosmart hp, I think that the process does not complete the installation of the software. After I clicked on that I accept the terms of the agreement, that he turns back to the ilnstall screen and a few seconds, it indicates the installation is complete. I don't think that the process is quick. It seems that there may be interrupted the process.

In support of this contention, the printing software HP and doctor Scan shows the software seems incomplete and that there are problems of dirver.

Can someone provide explanations that the question of the installation is deficient in this case, or that he really install this fast?

    Arthur

The initial installation software for the HP Photsmart 5510 series was the correct software.  I finally resorted to re - install Windows 10. I was then able to uninstall properly the remains of the 5510 installs my computer which allowed somehow not all subsequent installations trying to finish. Unfortunately, the software would not overwrite the wrong files and it does not alert me to the fact that it was not complete installation.  It simply says that the installation is complete.  My guess is the ultimate failure of the procedure was the result of some entries in the REGISTRY, creating a conflict with the installation and full installation process was abandoned.

The process automated to re - install then took place without a hitch and all the functions of the printer now appear to work as expected.

I think that an option in the installation process to allow overwrite existing software on the computer may well have solved this problem without pain. The alternative that I had to go through has been extremely laborious and frustrating.

    Hello

Sure enough. I even downloaded and extract the Windows 7 drivers to see if there is evidence of support for XP, but it was not.

You can always try to install the Windows 7 drivers to see what is happening. But I expect that the installation routine will check for a valid operating system.
