We have a CLOCK in LC pls. ?

Hello

I am a newbie to LC, develops a form, where in I need to place a DATE and TIME fields. Thus, palette, I had the DATE field and see the calendar for date selection, well, but I thought it is the same case with TIME field the user will hv a clock / digital clock for time slecton, but this isn't?

Pls. Let me know

(1) do we have a clock for TIME selection in LC function?, if so, how can get it on my form

(2) if there is no such thing, what MODEL should I maintain to ensure that users enter not junk?

(3) if I want to do validation on data entered by the user, pls. Let me know the JS and the EVENT name pls. ?

Thank you

  • Lenovo Z500 can't keep time (clock drift)

    Hello

I had real problems with my new Lenovo Z500 on Win8 and the big one at the moment is its inability to keep time. After a reboot, it will keep the time that I stopped him. Then after that it will be adrift. For example, while he was working there, I had a movie on. I checked the time at the end of the film as it must have been was late again according to my laptop that this is only about 30 minutes later.

This becomes a huge pain. All files have the incorrect date and to have a clock which cannot keep time is next useless.

On a very old PC I guess that's the CMOS battery on its way, but I only got the laptop a few days! I would probably cancel my warranty replacement anyway.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Richard

Do check my laptop about 18 hours after I finally stopped him and that time seems correct. That said, I checked my data and the time settings and synced it on start up. Windows may have cancelled my test!

I downloaded and installed three drivers. It's the BIOS and positive battery that I believe was the chipset. My memory is a little fuzzy on the third, but the BIOS is more likely to be solved.

It will stop for a brief moment, just to be sure.

  • clock calendar - digital output

    Hi all!

I need timing equipment impliment on a few digital output lines.  That's what I have so far:

I didn't get an oscilloscope for her yet, but I'm fairly certain that it works.  Please note that in this example, I use a PCI-6115.  I have 2 questions:

    (1) make what I do look reasonable at a quick glance?

    (2) I'm kinda mistified by the entry of clock source to the example of the clock function.  The analysis that I read just still confuses me.  I understand that the clock is what dictates the sequence of material.  I do not understand how to choose the appropriate clock source correctly.  More specifically, in the above example, I've only had the program work when I chose "20MHzTimebase".  What is c? Why this work?

When I try to select ' Dev1 / / SampleClock ", I get the following error:"attempted to perform a route when the source and destination are the same point."

When I try to select "Dev1/PFI0" or "RTSI0/DEV1", I get a timeout error in the wait_until_done.vi--> it does not appear that the waveforms are executed.

That means the PFI and RTSI acronym for, and why they appear as options when you select a source of the clock?  Furthermore, why have they not worked as a clock source?

I would be very grateful to anyone who could clear things for me a little.  Thank you!

Have you read the http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/01C075FB9478F94A8625786A007435BA? manual The definition of PF and RTSI are here. They are designed using external clock signals. You have the choice of using the internal clocks of analog output (20 MHz) or external clocks. If you do not connect the RTSI bus or PF what, whether you have no clock so no data will be output. Selection of as source does not work because it is not a source. You provide a source for it.

  • GPS sync and external clock

    Hello everyone,

my task is to synchronize my PXI system to the time base GPS and after using an atomic clock (10 MHz output signal) as well as external CLK in. after the first synchronization of the GPS. the GPS signal is no longer available, however very important as the base unit of time not significantly drift. For the material there is a PXI chassis with 6682H module for GPS reception and 5622/5603-5653 combination for the acquisition of measurement data available.

I thought since I'm fairly new to Labview and PXI system, it would be nice if someone could give me some feedback on the solution and help solve the problems that I have.

The idea would be to have atomic clock connected to all CLK INs the PXI at all times. For GPS sync I would use the "Set time reference niSync' function first set the clock of Council to the GPS. After the free trial (the device is not moved during the GPS synchronization) I would like to stop using the GPS.

After the external atomic clock. should also be used to calculate the frequency increases and the determination of the relative time. I suppose that if I back the reference to free running time, it would still use the last increments of calculated frequency derived from GPS?

Is there another solution to address both reference to PPS? Problem is, I only have a 10 MHz signal available.

Thanks a lot for any help

    Hello.

When the PXI-6682 tries to synchronize to a source (GPS, 1588, PPS), she is a great fit for its time base, to eliminate the first offset from the source and then made small developed to the clock, the timekeeper, to keep in sync with the source of the conduct.

In this case, you have an atomic source at 10 MHz that you trust, so you do not want/need small adjustments, you want to only make the initial adjustment of wholesale and then just run based on the clock of 10 MHz supplied.

Is there a way to make the PXI-6682 to do this.  You will need to configure it to assume that PXI_CLK10 is good and no adjustment is necessary. There is no call to the Sync API OR standard to do this, you need to get the VI that configures the jury to do this in the .llb used to clock discipline (in which the PXI-6682 also doesn't make small adjustments based on his time, but guess PXI_Clk10 is 'good').

You can get the .llb from here: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2318/lang/en

The VI you need is mdevClkDisc.llb\_clkDisc_niSync_advancedAttribute_set_bool.vi

Together the "attribute of niSync" entry "Clk10 disciplining activated ' and the 'value' of coming true, as shown in the picture as an attachment.  The time reference offset must be<10ns and="" constant. ="" give="" that="" a="" try="" and="" let="" us="" know="" how="" it="">

Note that once you do this, the PXI-6682 will be able to make adjustments to his timekeeper. It will work exclusively on the 10 supplied MHz reference clock. Therefore, if the clock of 10 MHz in fact derive from GPS, there is nothing that the 6682 can do about it.  If you fall into this situation, one thing you can do is set at a time reference to free running, set the time to something that is off by saying that 60 seconds, and then set the time reference to the GPS.  That should put it back on the rails.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to generate redeclenchables wave AO leave encoder ABZ quadrature on LV8.0 so that Z-pulse restarts the form of wave and pulse A - B clock it

Hard, I try to find a solution how to use external ABZ, quadrature encoder pulse to retrigger and clock repeatedly the same AO signals (and). A and B legumes should clock AO and Z-pulse wave should restart the wave early. Is this possible with card 6221? Can provide you the code example?

    I use LV8.0

    Thank you

    Kevin,

Thank you for picking up the thread.

I understand your example and I already had working direct synchronization of the AO and MAKE the waveforms using external impulses. The problem is that my application cannot invoke the correct number of A pulse will run same waveform for months. I have to use Z-pulse to maintain synchronization in the long term. That's why the task should be redeclenchables.

I have made some progress since yesterday on the use of the example attached 'retriggerable_ao - NOR .vi' and the decoder external t.i. IC, which has transformed two 1024 A, B encoder in dish 4096 pulses/turn. My CO task then divides this frequency to 1024 (4 points per period). This regime of AO - redeclenchables DO so usually seems to work.

The problem now is that this chip must have a clock (~ 100 kHz or more) to work, and I don't want to build generator external too.

Y at - there no way to get all the signals of high frequency signals (100 kHz, 20 MHz or 20 MHz base time) USB-6221 Board any PFI available pine asuming that all of my commitments in Task-resource in this example are needed?

I tried a lot of things yesterday, but all the clock signals are either committed or roads are anavailable. I don't understand why I can't tap into it?

    Any thoughts?

What do you mean by "the sample clock?  If you mean "sampling rate", of course, specific information.  Personally, I like to be implemented in LabVIEW (New/task) project tasks, use to set the clock of origin, frequency of sampling, channels, sampling (e.g. in continuous) mode, Max/Min (e.g. ±10v), scale, etc.), and then wire a constant to the function of the virtual channels of DAQmx create, click on the arrow on the constant and choose the appropriate task (I have save as a mnemonic name such as 'Acquire the temperature').

    Hi Pmapson,

It doesn't seem to be a way to make the clock from the taskbar displays the seconds on the main display. You can see the second hand however, when you click the icon. Your main question was supposed to have the clock display seconds one solution would be the application of third party following freeware :

    Third party options:

    Third (Freeware):

TClockEX (Windows 9 x, NT, 2000, XP officially.) I tested and the program works on Vista and Windows 7 as well)

It has a slightly clunky interface, but the good news is that it installs by default with the option of second hand already working and display.

    Workaround solutions:

    Gadgets:

Right click Desktop / choose gadgets and then click on the clock icon. Right click on the gadget, click on options and then "show second hand.

  • Gadgets. My clock will not stay Put.

I always had two clocks on my desk - one local, the other Singapore. After a (now cured with the new card) graphics card problem I can't get the clock to stay on the desktop. Everytime I try, it pulls the gadgets window.

Other gadgets are going to stay, but not in their form provided - only or poorly displayed text. But the clock: not at all.

In a word they are or off lit. Kind of in-between... !!

    Someone at - it a response... ?

    TIA for any help.

I always use gadgets and I will continue to do so.   I love this clock gadget.  Multiple clock are also possible.

You can also change the configuration files for the Windows clock by following the link that I gave in my first post to have the clock are displayed correctly, but the same size, because it would be 100%...
