Web site layout breaks if ask toolbar moved above FF 3.6.8

Available to Web site breaks when you navigate from FF 3.6.8 with installed toolbar.
user agent string looks like: "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows;" U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; (RV:1.9.2.8) gecko/20100722 AskTbASK/3.8.0.12304 Firefox/3.6.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729).

I am sure that this javascript unmatured all custom written on our Web site to identify the version of the browser. What other things could cause this behaviour?

I see you are using a MS Server?

Have you checked that server for the server (ASP) scripts that could cause this problem?

It seems to work better if the AskTbASK/3.8.0.12304 part is positioned after the part of Firefox.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8 AskTbASK/3.8.0.12304 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Which suggests a too sensitive control for the part "Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8' of the user agent.

    Hi ClintRG,

    What browser do you use?

If you use Internet Explorer, you can follow these methods & check if the problem persists:

    Method 1

You can use AutoComplete to store passwords and other information that you type into web form fields. When you turn on AutoComplete, Internet Explorer automatically fills the fields that strikes frequently in web forms, such as your name and address.

For more information, refer to this link: fill in website forms and passwords automatically

    Method 2

You can disable InPrivate browsing if activated & check if the problem persists.

    Hello Dreamweavers.

I'd like know how this type of sites are installed outside in DW, for example these sites have div tags?

or is the whole design imported into DW? It frame-by-frame is placed in DW for example? example decided within the PS and the imported.

Im trying to understand how they are developed in DW. The second example that has text down, happens in DW?

This question is more for education.

    Thank you.

These look like 'proof of design concepts' which were intended for a Flash site.  Very probably he never took off because the Flash is a web technology dead.

  • Photoshop CS3 - Web site layout Question

Hi, I'm new here and I hope this is the right place to post this question.  I am an intermediate Photoshop user, and I'm trying to set up a website layout in Photoshop CS3, I can export to Dreamweaver.  Should what image size I start in Photoshop to design the page?  I did some research and some places say 720 px wide by 500 px high, but I have a 1280 x 800 display, so I wonder if that shows funny about the moniters widescreen?  Not sure, hope that someone understands what I'm trying to explain and can help!  Thank you!

depends on the resolution you design. For 1024 x 786, which is currently the most common on the web that you would go to something like 980. I use some 950 so I can have a beautiful 12-column page layout. Don't forget that you do not design for the resolution you use, but the resolution who use most of the people on the web, unless of course your client says he wants to target a specific screen resolution, like saying 800 x 600

  • Problems of CSS Web site layout

    Hi guys,.

I'm new to CSS, I have a lot of HTML knowledge and several programming languages, very nearly exceeded. I have an informational website that is several years old.

    www.woodgas.NET

I used frontpage to make my website and make updates over the years. It's time for a face lift.

I have dreamweaver CS5 installed and I have a devil of a time getting my page to do what I want. I am trying to style similar to a set of chassis of a blindfold and 3 columns. And a menu at the top of the Central column flydown. The left and right columns must be 160 X 600 and the Center to be centered between the right and left column.

I want the banner to Center on the top of the page. And the columns left and right to move as far as possible to the edge away from my Center column display. This will keep my ads too far from my content as possible. My site was completely supported in my pocket and I'm hoping to generate a little income to keep the site updated.

I don't want to use images, this would keep the new ads from loading as a person navigates to a new page on my site.

Any help would be appreciated I am sure if you check out my current site, you will find two things, it's a pretty cool topic and it could use a facelift!

    Thank you

    Jonathan

  • Why the navigation toolbar now required me click on an arrow, rather than hitting 'enter', to go to a Web site?

I use internet since it started, and I've always been able to type a Web site address in the navigation toolbar and then click 'Enter' to enter the site. Yesterday, I clicked on the update for Firefox, and since I was not able to get on a site like this; Instead, I have to use the mouse to click an arrow at the end of the navigation bar. It's redundant for me because I use the keyboard. Why anyone would change that in the first place? If I'm not able to return to the standard navigation method, then I'm going to explore.

This problem may be caused by the AVG Safe Search extension.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance/themes).

  • Function of "-non-piste" involves cookies set by the web site?

The feature '-not-track ' Firefox 5 involves the use of cookies? In other words, websites that decide to honor the '-not-track ' will push a Firefox cookie that indicates my preference, for every time I visit this web site?

I ask this question because I use the management of cookies. For most websites, I put "Allow for session" cookies, but when I see a cookie named "Tracking" or "Metrics" I put these cookies 'decline '. Therefore, I wonder if my management of cookies is defeated at the intended function of the '-non-filiere ' imagined by Mozilla.

I mean, in simple terms how is '-non-piste ' supposed to work? How do I know if it works?

If this has already been explained elsewhere please direct me to this article/document.

    Thank you.

Firefox sends a DNT = 1 response header to the server.

This is the server to decide what to do with this request.

  • sides of my layout of the Web site are not aligned correctly - view this thread for a much better understanding!

The sides of my layout of the Web site are not aligned correctly, and the image is slightly moved above.

To much better understand what I mean... First discovered my site here: http://www.clanmog.hostei.com/ - I noticed that this problem only occurs in Firefox (to my knowledge) and not Internet Explorer. It does not have this in IE, but Firefox does.

then look at this image: http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/7210/helpme.PNG

How can I solve this problem?

At a glance I'd say it's because you are clearing out the average divs, but not others. This changes the alignment calculations...

  • A Web site can store data for offline use without asking?

In options, advanced, network, web content offline and the user data, I 'tell me when a website asks to store data for use in offline mode"checked

And then in the box below that lists Web sites that are allowed to store data for offline use there is an entry "https://forecast.io".

This site never asked me to store data offline, and I never did anything to him. The website showed there before, I removed it and now it's back.

So, since I have the box checked to tell me when a site asks you, means that there is not just ask?

Yes, a Web site can store data for offline use without asking and can do even if you have checked the option 'tell me when a website asks to store data for use in offline mode', because this option does not work correctly. See the bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=959985

As far as I know, it does not mean that the site simply "did not", it's just that the option does not work (or maybe only works in the case where the data are larger than the pref in offline mode - apps.quota.warn?)

The workaround given by cor - el above, must currently off - apps.allow_by_default set to false.

  • When an add-on is configured as click-to-play with certain Web sites to as long as exceptions (don't ask again), how can I return these decisions?

Well, the title is long enough already...

Even if an add-on (flash, for example) is configured as click-to-play, I can define some Web sites as exceptions. Then, the add-on is still allowed to play or ever allowed to play and I will never ask any question for these Web sites again.

The question is: how I can cause Firefox to forget such an exception/decision and treat it again through the standard? (In my case, I simply clicked the wrong button and, as it seems, can only cancel easily.)

    Best regards
    Klaus

You can rename (or delete) the file permissions.sqlite in the profile folder of Firefox to reset all the permissions.

You can control and manage permissions for the domain in the tab currently selected through these steps:

    • Click the address bar onthe Site identity button"(globe/lock)
    • Click on 'More information' to open ' tools > Page Info "with the Security tab is selected

Go to the permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab.

You can control and manage certain permissions to all areas on the Subject: authorizations page.

Note that this does not include permissions plugin, but you have a button "Forget this Site" to remove all stored data in this area.

You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" in the context menu of a history entry ("" history > view history "or" view > sidebar > History "") or via the subject: permissions page.

With the help of "Forget this Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox in this area like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful.
If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure you back up these data or make a comment.

You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.

If you visit a 'forgotten' Web site then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

By icons in my toolbar, I had links to several Web sites such as my e-mail address, bank accounts and several other Web sites...

Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible.

    • Firefox menu button > Options
    • View > toolbars (press F10 to display the hidden menu bar)
    • Right click on empty toolbar space

Use the toolbar (Customize) to open the Customize and set the toolbar to display items.

    • Make sure the "bookmarks toolbar items" are on the personal bar
    • If "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the bookmarks toolbar, then FRY it in the palette of the toolbar in the window the bookmarks toolbar Customize
    • If the missing elements are in the toolbar palette then drag them from the window, customize the toolbar
    • If you do not see an item on a toolbar in the toolbar palette and then click the button "Restore default" to restore the default toolbar configuration
