  These look like 'proof of design concepts' which were intended for a Flash site.  Very probably he never took off because the Flash is a web technology dead.

My server host (HostGator) has me download FileZilla for help, yet, so I'm not a computer person will have a difficult time to get more. Anyone have any experience with that can offer assistance? It would be most appreciated. Thank you!

  Go to Site > new Site > DW to tell it where your Site on your hard drive folder.

  Example: C:\YourSiteName.  See screenshot.

• My Web site layout, fonts, graphics are suddenly messed up.

  My site was beautiful in Firefox, as it always does in Chrome and IE. It wasn't until the other day when a customer told us that our site was horrible looking in its Firefox. Having no idea about how our site read in Firefox, we went to view the site yesterday and to our surprise, wow that's horrible.

  I don't know that it was fine, a few months ago, when we checked it and we did not something important on the site other then on 25 may, we added a RapidSSL to GeoTrust certificate - which I don't know or believe would have caused this mess or... The site is www.ancient-wisdoms.com

  I see all request of JS and CSS files with size 0 in the Web Console (Firefox/tools > Web Developer) even though the HTTP response headers show that content is sent by the server.
  It is possible that Firefox does not like the Content-Encoding: x - deflate that the server sends.

  The compression setting has been changed recently?

  I used frontpage to make my website and make updates over the years. It's time for a face lift.

  I have dreamweaver CS5 installed and I have a devil of a time getting my page to do what I want. I am trying to style similar to a set of chassis of a blindfold and 3 columns. And a menu at the top of the Central column flydown. The left and right columns must be 160 X 600 and the Center to be centered between the right and left column.

  I want the banner to Center on the top of the page. And the columns left and right to move as far as possible to the edge away from my Center column display. This will keep my ads too far from my content as possible. My site was completely supported in my pocket and I'm hoping to generate a little income to keep the site updated.

  I don't want to use images, this would keep the new ads from loading as a person navigates to a new page on my site.

  Any help would be appreciated I am sure if you check out my current site, you will find two things, it's a pretty cool topic and it could use a facelift!

  Your questions are wide enough, I might suggest you pop on http://www.w3schools.com and resume their beginning css tutorials.  I'm sure that you will find your answers after obtaining some basic css under your belt.

  I'm new to this forum.  I hope this isn't a stupid question!  I'll buy a new laptop that will have previously loaded Windows 7.  A friend gave me a Dreamweaver CS3 Web site design software; Is this compatible with Win 7?

  I just reinstalled CS3 on a Win 7 machine and have found no significant problems.  He settled in the Progam Files (x 86) folder, which is for 32-bit applications.

  Strange, but when I select some content for editing, selection/highlight box appears sometimes in an area unrelated to the page for some reason any.  It doesn't seem to affect the editing, but go figure.  I have no idea why Win 7 that would cause.  This is the only hiccup I noticed.

  This is because Acrobat doesn't have a login. If you need to create a specific secure web page PDF file, you can open it in the browser and then convert via Acrobat plug-in software component.

  It is not possible to convert from Acrobat itself secure sites.

  I went the same route. I started to want to learn web design and the Muse is an excellent tool. The code it generates, however, not to use it in Dreamweaver. This could be done, I think this isn't worth it, even for a real Geek. Once you get to Muse you will find there are things missing, stuff, you want to do, but are just tough in Muse or you can buy a widget. It is possible in DW and you get which through subscription, so it makes sense. Me what I know now, I'll go directly to DW to learn, except if you want results right now. If you don't want something to cause I stay with Muse and maybe learn to animate CC to add some pizazz to the site. If you only want a simple layout and a couple supporting stick with Muse pages if you want a larger site use DW. • disable the photoshop via the adobe Web site?

  I upgraded the hard drive on my notebook (windows 7 pro) by cloning the old. Everything works perfectly, except for Adobe Photoshop CS3. He claims that I need to reactivate, but will not now (reactivation attempts fail). I remember vaguely reading I could disable a computer via the adobe Web site, but cannot find this option now. I tell myself that I have to disable the old hard drive (same computer, but perhaps adobe sees it as another computer), and then I'll have the 2nd year to reactivate on the new hard drive (same computer). I already use 1 of the 2 licenses on my desk.

  I can also reach the Chat or email to anyone at Adobe. Apparently, Adobe decided that once a product is sold, they want to support.

  I don't know if this can be screwing the licensing system, but the same day that I upgraded my laptop, I also bought the subscription creative cloud for use on another computer (but the same username).

  Thanks to you two. Because I was in a hurry today, I disassembled my laptop, reinstalled the old hard drive, started, off CS3, close, then put it all back and the new hard drive and reactive (it didn't the first time and then worked the second time).

  In case it can help someone in the future, the licenses can be reset by Adobe via chat. When you follow all the prompts for CS3, licensing in the aid system issues, Adobe is the only support provided through forums. However, I complained to Adobe, and they suggested in the future to contact support with the following:

  I created a Web site in flash cs3.  He published while I now have an index.html, the home.swf and the AC_RunActiveContent.js file.

  When I upload it to the host, the url shows just a blank white page.  I called the customer service from the host, godaddy, and they said that the server could not find the swf file.

  This is because you still have the old file name in the html code.  You need to replace the old name ("Domain Name") with the new name of the file... probably in four places in the code, but you will have to go through it to make sure.  Again, the simplest method is to republish the html with the new swf file and copy / paste this html code in the index.html file.
