  • Dell Vostro 1520 / formatting now WiFi NOT work...

    Hello

I formatted my Dell Vostro 1520 and now the wifi does not work, I get an exclamaition mark on my device manager...

    Thanks in advance

When you perform a clean installation of Windows (which is what I assume you are talking about "formatted my Dell Vostro), you must reinstall all hardware drivers.

If you have used a method of restoration costs of factory Dell, then drivers for integrated hardware would have been included.

    So...

If you used a CD to install Windows XP to do a clean install of windows AND your wifi adapter is built into your computer, go to the Dell Support, enter your Service tag, download drivers for your computer.  Note: you must proceed even if your wifi adapter is not integrated into your computer, because you must install drivers for other devices on your computer.

If your wifi adapter is NOT integrated with your computer, visit the website of the manufacturer of the adapter, and download the appropriate driver.

  • Webcam works does not in my dell n5110

It comes to my webcam on dell n5110. This problem has a bit of history. So far, the story is like this:

The webcam worked perfectly for about a year. I have not used for about a month and then when I try to use Dell Webcam central application showed webcam not detected error. I tried other software like Skype and other chat tools webcam online, but the result was the same. Then I posted a similar message on this forum looking for an answer. People were really helpful and they gave me different types of tips and methods to try.

I tried all. It was not all devices under imaging devices in Device Manager. There is no unknown devices listed either.

I used dell troubleshooting tools both online and offline, they all said that there is no such device on your laptop. They did not have a clue on a webcam.

I have re installed Dell webcam central software. But nothing has changed. I also removed all the usb devices on Device Manager and let them to be reinstalled. Yet, there is nothing.

They advised me to Flash the bios. I tried, but the application was released showing "cannot Flash the bios to the same version. I tried to load the default settings in the bios.

Then I removed the front panel of the laptop and unplugged and plugged cable connection webcam from the top as they said, it may be a bad connection. However, he did not a difference.

Days like this and a few days later, when I turned on my lap, a new notification of pilot plant appeared and the USB device has been installed. And Yes, this is the driver for the webcam. Webcam was working fine. I ran the test on the application dell several times and webcam passed between them all the time. It was just like new. But it was not consistent. Webcam disappear suddenly as in the first case, leaving no clue as to what happened and then came back in the same way as before. I don't know what caused the web cam to do. This happened several times.

Now, it's the history of the problem.

    • He worked like that for about three months. And now the webcam didn't go back a month. I think on the replacement of the webcam. The question is whether it will solve my problem?
    • What are the symptoms of a hardware failure? Only, I checked the connection of the cable to the module of webcam. Can there be a bad connection at the other end of the cable?

Also, I believe that the network of microphones is also in the webcam module. It worked very well, even when the webcam was missing. And it still works very well.

    • Webcam and microphone two separate units or they come together?
    • The connection of microphone array goes through the same cable from the webcam? If this is the case, the possibility of a failure of the webcam because of the bad connection may be cancelled?

A lot of questions. I waiting for your good advice.

    Thank you

    Hi pavan_m4,

Thank you for your patience and all the troubleshooting steps to solve the problem. I suspect it is the hardware problem. Given that the camera worked after the new update of driver, try to restore the system to factory State. Back up the data before you restore the computer. Please click on the link for Windows 7 PC Restore:

    http://Dell.to/15DfFoj

In case the problem persists even after PC Restore, you can consider replacing the Webcam. Camera and microphone cable are integrated and it is a single cable.

  • Webcam works does not after update

After a recent update on my Windows 7, no webcams work longer. Locate the can´t system, as are they connected werenâ´t.

I have can´t reinstall the device drivers, because I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-500, and its pilots are supposed to be a native component of Windows 7. I also tried with other devices, and none of them does not work either.

You can always reinstall drivers even if they are native in Windows. Go to control panel and open the Device Manager. Look down the list of all references to your webcam (video, microphone, etc.). They may appear with a yellow! mark indicating there is a problem with the driver, or they might not. If none does everyone try to enable 'Show hidden devices' in the view menu. For each entry in webcam that you find, right-click on it, select properties then driver. Click on the button that says "roll back driver". The earlier work driver should then re - install.

If the Roll Back driver option is disabled which means there is no new driver installed. You can always reinstall the driver however. Right-click on each entry in webcam and select uninstall driver. When it is unplug your webcam. Reset is optional, if not plug your webcam into even once (in a port on the computer NOT to a hub) and Windows should re - detect and install the drivers again.

In case it was an update of the driver who caused your problem when you rolled back each of the webcam drivers and tested the camera working again, go to Windows Update and look for the updates. The problem with the driver should appear again. From the screen to view updates (the one with the details on upgrades), right-click on the update of the webcam driver and select "hide update". After that it shouldn't bother you again.

  • Microphone doesn't work is not on my Vostro 1500 with Vista Ultimate

I recently received my DELL Vostro 1500 which has a Sigmatel Soundcard and I installed Vista on it and found that Vista had already installed a generic driver of high definition for him. So, I was ok. But then I found that the built-in mic or even an external MIC does not work. I get a harwarde is unavailable or not installed error. Someone help me please...

I browsed the forums and found a lot of pilots who are supposed to be its Sigmatel for Vista drivers, and whenever I tried to install one of them I get an object not found error or something similar to it.

I have a dual-boot configuration, so I am running XP as well and everything works fine under XP with the drivers provided by DELL. But not on Vista...

DELL technical support, it's not what I expected since I recently moved to this laptop from my previous HP-Compaq Presario 6000 and HP support was great, including the live chat with technical support people who helped me with my problems of pilot with this laptop. I now regret to have bought a DELL laptop, since I do not get the kind of service that I expected from DELL. In any case...

    SOMEONE... PLEASE HELP ME!

  • Webcam works does not in Studio 1535 with Windows 7

    Hello

I have a portable studio 1535, it came with the Windows Vista operating system. However later on, I had installed Windows 7 Ultimate OS. My webcam first worked with Win 7. But for some time it does not work. I downloaded the driver for the Webcam (CREATIVE-LABS_INTEGRATED-WEB_A05_R207341) for vista from the Dell Web site. But when I installed it, at the end of the installation, it displays error message ""an error occurred during configuration of the driver.". I use the Dell Webcam Central software for webcam, when I run it displays messages "please connect a supported device".

Please guide me to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I tried the diagnostics and the other suggestion. In the end, I open my laptop screen laptop and found that plug a little besides that the camera wasn't attached correctly. I joined it and then reboot it installed drivers and now works correctly.

Once again thanks for the reply.

  • WebCam works does not in Satellite L50-A-18R in Windows 10

    Hello

A few weeks after an update of windows or something, the webcam has stopped working under windows. It is not a hardware problem, as it works fine under Ubuntu.

    Laptop model: Toshiba Satellite L50-A-18R
    Webcam hardware ID: USB\VID_04F2 & PID_B41A & REV_2960 & MI_00

    Tried:

    • Uninstall of & reinstall the driver in Device Manager

      • If I try the option "Online search", he is unable to find the driver.
    • Toshiba Web Camera Application installation [does not work either]
    • Reinstalling System Toshiba settings app.
    • Research online the ID of material for pilots.

But it doesn't help, need me the driver files to make it work again.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Apparently, it was a problem with Windows, as it is fixed with the update of 1067. [Update of the birthday]

  • Satellite A100: webcam works does not for windows live messenger on Vista

I recently lost my picture when working for video calls in windows live messenger, the sound of two ways and I can see them, but no one can see me.
I also bought an external webcam, and it does not work either.

When I go to Device Manager it says that the two cams don't work properly.
I tried to update the drivers but they are up-to-date.
I wonder if it's a problem of Windows live or Toshiba.
I use Windows Vista Home Premium and the new version of messenger.

    > I also bought an external webcam and it doesn t work either.
    > When I go to Device Manager it says that the two cams don't work properly

For me, it looks like a windows system problem.
Usually two webcams operate independently from each other and so I don t think that it is a webcam driver problem I think that it s windows or windows live messenger problem
Maybe something confused keys registry or files may be some updates to update or similar

In your case, I recommend you to uninstall the software of webcam software, internal external webcam and the windows live messenger.
Then, you must clean the BONES and the registry tool like CCLeaner cleaning, for example. It the free tool.

After this, reinstall the Chicony webcam software and test functionality without installation of windows live messenger.
If the webcam will be functions then you could install the windows live messenger again.

  • I want to open/read/convert files .opf and .opef, (professional vista in the new Dell Vostro 1520)

I copied dozens of files from the old notebook in a USB key, copied in my new Dell (running Vista Business) and the file types are displayed as .opf and .opef. Vista does not recognize these types (I thought that I initially had saced them in format JPEG, MPEG, etc.). The web provides no answers, nor made of Microsoft Web sites, so this page. Why is all this so desperately complicated / I just want to USE my computer, no need to learn a lot of things that need to be automated, grrrr!

. OPf files are associated with six programs that I know (and probably more) http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/opf and http://filext.com/file-extension/OPF. I can't anything on .opef files - I don't think that there is.  I don't have either of these types of files in the associations for file on my system Vista Business SP2 32 bit (with a lot of the image). You can check your by going to start / Control Panel / Default programs / associate program, a file or process and analysis of the list for .opf and .opef.  If you have, see what kind of program he uses to open files.  If you do not, then you have no program capable of opening files (as they are named).

Are the files on your USB stick with their original file extensions?   They are still on the old computer?  You can try to do the process again to see if this strange event occurs again (if everything goes well, it will not and everything will be OK).  Simply copy files does not change their extenstions (even if the new machine is not the software to read the extensions, and especially not if it's the case) - but already, you know that and are looking for a solution.  I could try to change the extension of one of the files has been changed to revert to the original extension and see if you can open it with the appropriate software.  If this workd and you cannot transfer files without changing extensions the (and I don't quite understand why it is happening0 then your only choice is perhaps rename each file to give it the appropriate extension.)  Either that or try to download one of the programs in the first link of this post and see if you can open the files with .opf.  If so, you need to learn how to use this program for working with these files transferred.

You can be infected by the malware. To resolve this problem (if it is a problem) download, install, and run the following two programs: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html.  You can also try a free trial of Pandasoft (www.pandasoft.com).  Before you download pandasoft, uninstall all anti-virus program you currently use (because the installation and execution of two simultaneously can cause conflicts, freezes and all sorts of problems).  Once you have uninstalled your current AV program, download, install, update and scan using Pandasoft.  I think you might be amazed at how much she notes that other software missed.  Once complete, uninstall pandasoft and re - install your current AV program (unless you decide to spend that I did when I tried about 4 years ago).  You can also try the new, free Microsoft Security Essentials to: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx (with the same bet cautioned that you can have only ONE program AntiVirus installed and running on your system at any time).  They say that MSE has the most impact on the performance of the PC while I found Pandasoft found most of the malware.  You can decide if you want to keep your current AV program or switch to one of these other.  If you want to transfer the files, then try again.

If this does not work (and don't try to do the scans with each of them), then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well it will finish without error, it could not resolve (if she has no such errors, post here or you can try to analyze them using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228).

Which; s on this subject for now (it is certainly enough to keep you busy with you would rather not do things I realize - but if we want to retrieve these files must be eliminated some potential problems that can cause the problem * unless you want to change all the files one by one if dealing even works).

Good luck and let us know how things go.  We will be there to offer more help if these solutions do not do the trick.  One way or another, we will answer your files somehow.

If you are having problems with your webcam, I have some suggestions that may help with the problem.
