• Cannot make a .bar file

In the interests of any other poor fool who suffered the way I have, here's how I fixed it:

    1. to the http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Testing-and-Deployment/BlackBerry-Tablet-OS-Graphical-Aid/ta-... there's a graphic generator I used to get exactly the same broken result as above.

2 from this, I have concluded there is a file missing for some reason, called WebWorksAppTemplate - App.Xml. A bit of sting enabled me to find a WebWorksAppTemplate - app.as in bbwp/AirAppTemplates/src/and more than working with Google has led me to a copy of the missing file, allowing me to build a replacement and put it in this directory.

    3. it has now failed in a different way which showed more time with Google was referring to a old version of the AirSDK, probably because I run an older version of the missing file to try to fix the broken build. By changing from 2.5 to 2.6 that it finally worked. My own app also built using ripple, so the problem all along was the WebWorksAppTemplate - app.xml missing.

Here is a copy of the missing file with the amended on line 2:

    http://ns.Adobe.com/air/application/2.6">

    WebWorksAppTemplate

    WebWorksAppTemplate

    WebWorksAppTemplate

    1.0.0

[This value will be replaced by Flash Builder in the output app.xml]

    None

I want to know is why this file was missing. If someone else built applications WebWorks, or am I the only one? How has the generation it broken in the first place?

  • Simulation of executable UNIT (BAR file) in BB 10.3 SDK Simulator game

    Hello

We have developed a game using UNITY. We had tested locally for Passport screen screen resolution in the tool of the SDK of the UNIT. We have not tested the device current passport.

We face after publication on our game reported by BB world tream,

"In passport BB device, the application permissions page appears in the wrong way."

We want to simulate the game executable (BAR file) on BB 10.3 SDK Simulator to address this problem.

Please help us how to simulate the game executable based UNIT (BAR file) on 10.3 SDK Simulator.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Prabhakar

    Hello

Sohm M thanks for your response.

We had solved problem misdirection of the permissions page of the application in the device of passport in one of the following ways.

    1. we had defined portrait orientation in settings of player UNITY and generated a BAR file for Passport devices.

    2. we defined the landscape orientation and another BAR remaining in the generated file.

    3. we had all two BAR files downloaded and selected devices accordingly.

Our game has finally got approved.

  • Just an exported bar-file for Q10, Z10, and necessary peripheral Alpha SDK native 10.1.0.338?

    Hello

Here's a simple question probably, but an answer would help me a lot.

I build an application against the new version of the native SDK (10.1.0.338) - the beta version for the features of Q.

Then I tested it with the SDK on Alpha device, Z10 (both 1280 x 768) and also of Q10 (720 x 720) and it works fine.

Then, I produced a bar file to export to the world of BB. My hypothesis is correct that I need a simple bar-file for all devices (Q10, Z10, Alpha device)?

Thank you very much in advance for your help and your best regards

    Andreas

That's the way I do now, so as far as I know, this should be sufficient.

  • Difference between WebWorks plugin and widget sdk?

I used only to BlackBerry JDE and am about to move to Eclipse. I understand that I can write in HTML & JavaScript, then compile them in .cod.

I read that I must have the WebWorks installed in the Eclipse IDE plugin (and I can install the IDE with WebWorks already included). Can someone tell me, what is the purpose of the Widget SDK? Can I plugin WebWorks BOTH the Widget SDK to compile HTML and the hardware API library sources?

    Thank you.

    roricka

Before I update my ide, let me ask you - originally, I started with the download on

    http://us.BlackBerry.com/developers/browserdev/devtoolsdownloads.jsp

which consisted of the the BlackBerry WebWorks v. 2.5.1 plug-in OVER Eclipse IDE.

So I can assume I already have the latest and greatest (the reason I ask is that it looked like the upgrade an existing installation of Eclipse with the plugin seems much more complex than to install both together)?

Yes, you have the latest and best. I recommend always download and use the full installation programs and not the update site. Update website brings all sorts of complications. We started to remove the update site support on a full installation on our Java tools just for this reason. It represents 90% of our assistance to the installation. So yes, please use the complete installation programs.

A big problem - does not install the file files .alx with BlackBerry Desktop Software. No idea why that might be. I get an entry, and it says waiting for install, but when I click on apply ends upwards with nothing in the 'Status' column and the plus sign under the Action, which does nothing. Help!

In order to install an application on the device, it must also be signed with BlackBerry code signing keys. Have you purchased your code signing keys and signed your application?

In addition,-get a simulator for my Curve 8310?

You can download simulators for all models of BlackBerry. However, the 8310 curve does not support the OS 5.0 which is required for applications BlackBerry WebWorks. Simulators can be downloaded here: http://us.blackberry.com/developers/resources/simulators.jsp

And why the initial compilation step so slooowly. It takes a few minutes for this simple PIN alert program. Is this typical?

By the initial compilation, do you mean compilation and the launch of the Simulator or actual compilation. On most machines, I noticed the build takes about 10 to 15 seconds.

PS. for some reason, I sometimes can't play youtube videos. (Since they work sometimes, I tell myself that I have flash 10 installed ok.) But, is there not a DOCUMENT (as opposed to a video) which gives the same instructions as the video, including the source code for this simple application lists? Seems like that would be a no-brainer and would help out a little.

  • Signature of the app with the WebWorks SDK generates no COD files

    Hello

I'm trying to sign my application after this documentation: https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/documentation/signing_your_smartphone_app_1919664_11.html

    After running:

    bbwp C:\myapp\HelloWorld.zip -g mypassword -o C:\myapp\signed

Windows (by replacing the values with mine of course), I get only a .bar file and no folders OTAInstall and StandardInstall.

Furthermore, I don't receive any email from RIM authorized signatory.

    A thinking about it?

    Thank you

    Chris

Yes - all you need is a BAR file. Here are the instructions to sign your application BB10:

  • I can't find the .bar file

    Hello

I developed an application in eclipse blackberry native indigo with Blackberry Java SDK version 7.1.0. I tested Simulator, everthing is ok but when I look at my workspace, could ' t find .bar file. There are .cod, .cad, .jar files vs but .bar file is not. Where can I find the .bar file or what I need to do to generate the operations .bar file?

    Thank you...

You must move to the right forum:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Android-runtime-development/BD-p/ADT

That said, your question about the deployment of applications is interesting and applies to others who might convert Java apps BB10. So this may be interesting information for other readers on this forum... However it can be as bad, so read with caution.

My understanding is that the only method of deploying software to BB10 apps to devices, apart from the side loading in the design environment, via App World, now Blackberry World. BB extend it to support Business Applications - and company administrators can choose the world BB Enterprise applications and target these to their managed devices.

If the concept of pushing to the server has disappeared. As has the notion of downloading applications to a web site or side loading using the Desktop Manager.

It's worse for Android applications. Android applications will be refused for enterprise BlackBerry World, because the side job of the balance does NOT include the Android runtime. It is only supported in the personal plan.

So if you plan on writing a business application, you will have to develop into one of the other supported platforms, such as HTML5, waterfalls or WebWorks. Not Android.

And even if you do this, you will need to set up the app World de BlackBerry Enterprise and of course your client company must run BES 10.

I personally have not had to fight this battle, so it's just my understanding. But I'm developing a company BB10 application so will face this situation myself in the next few months. Then I will know for sure!

I would like to present the new version of my application, but I got error:

File bundle ([File_Name].bar) has been rejected. Package ID is required for all .bar file. If this is an upgrade, Package ID must match Package ID in original file bundle.

    I try to do everything:

    • Package using new WebWorks SDK
    • Send the file as a new version , but also by release edition refused

I can't create new product, because it is application of Last Chance Port-A-Thon...

    Can anyone help?

The package ID can be eliminated.

This creates a problem with current users upgrade, but will be resolved in the long term.

There is no problem for new users or new applications.

  • Tablet install no .bar file

I used eclipse to compile the example of the Tablet (sketch) and when it compiles it says that it is successful:

but when I look at the files produced I don't get a .bar file that is needed to install it on the Simulator.

In the build file, I get 2 files: OTAInstall and StandardInstall.

OTAInstall has: 2 .cod and 1 file .jad files

StandardInstall has: .axl .csl, .cod, .cso

    Ideas?

Make sure that the date on the simulator time corresponds to your PC... Also to ensure that the Simulator is set to developer mode in the security settings of the PlayBook.

  • Get error "Failed to Downlaod 907 invalid COD file not found"

    Hello

So I created an app for Blackberry and it works 100% in the Simulator... But when I try to copy the application on my physical device and install it using the .jad file, I get the error 'failure of Downlaod 907 invalid COD file not found' every time that... It won't install. But when I use the Blackberry "Rock FIle Manager" app and use its functionality of COD Installer application installs fine... Also, when I use the 'Create-A-JAD' program to create a .jad file from the file and then .cod file replace the build with the Create-A-JAD a .jad file and then install the app, it works...

I used the software 6 SDK and my physical device is a Blackberry 9300 which is runnin OS6. My application is signed... Here is a link to an image that demonstrates that the app is signed... http://www.freeimagehosting.NET/ytoge

What could be the problem so that it does not install it?

    Thank you very much!

you could try to unpack cod (its actually a zip file that contains the subsidiary COD), maybe it helps.

  • Question about BAR files

Hi, I am very new to BB development, my goal is: to make an application and download it from the BlackBerry App World.

But by reading the steps how to download, I saw this:

In the Version number field, type the number of the version. Note: Make sure that you enter them here the version number is exactly the same as the version number on the manifest your release .bar file. For example, if your .bar file contains a version number 1.0.1 and you fill in the number of Version 1.1, you may receive errors or update notification.

    SOURCE: http://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/blackberryworld/adding_new_apps_and_digital_goods.html

But I do not see in my project where are these files bar. (I also tried right click > BlackBerry > Project (s)) package

Where are these files located BAR? Or how to make one?

Sorry if this has already been asked to answer. I couldn't find anything in the search.

Is there a way to tell if a bar file is signed? I know that you can extract the file bar and display the content of it, so is there files in there that I could look and see if he is signed or not?

    Hey,.

This post from peter in another thread should be able to help with this:

  • The menu bar > file > open the element recent why only a few catalogs show their way?

I use Lightroom 5.3. When I go to the menu bar > file > open recent item only a few catalogs show their way. How can I make sure that all catlogs will show their passage here? I've attached a screen so you can see what I mean.Screen Shot 2014-04-07 at 1.33.37 PM.png

I would have thought that Lightroom shows that the full path to a catalog when there is more than one catalog name (so that you can differentiate)... where the recent catalogs have unique names, it is not necessary to the full to display path.
