• Qosmio DX730 and Win8 - touch screen does not work

  Hello

  My wife's parents bought a Toshiba Qosmio DX730 (model PQQ11A). They have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and the touch screen does not work now.

  The problem is lack of drivers (the monitor driver reports as a generic PnP monitor).

  I have went on the Toshiba site and selected downloads driver for the appropriate model and installed a number of drivers, including recommended NVidia display drivers. There is no drivers on the site that seem to install support for Toshiba touchscreen.

  Are there no drivers available for this model Windows 8? If not, is there another solution? If Yes, where can I find them. Any help very appreciated because they have nice and bought computer Windows 8 so they could use the touch functions.

  I don't understand that the volume and the touch screen does not work and I'll be happy to answer your query. These features require the updated drivers for them work. Let me ask you;

  • When was the last time that the two have worked?
  • Remember to no particular change in the device before the show?
  • Since the touch screen does not work, you are able to use the options settings?

  The device requires the updated drivers for the volume and the touch screen. I suggest to follow the methods below and check.

  Method 1: Run the troubleshooter of material and check if that helps.

  a. type in the right edge of the screen, and then click Search.
  (If you use a mouse, point to the upper right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down and then click find.)

  b. enter Troubleshooting in the search box, type or click Troubleshooting, and then press or click on hardware and sound.

  c. press or click on hardware and devicesand follow the instructions on the screen. You may be prompted for an administrator password or to confirm your choice.

  Method 2: Update the drivers

  Step 1: Update the driver through Device Manager

  a. press the Windows key + X , and then click Device Manager

  b. expand driver Sound

  c. make a right click driver, and then click Update driver software

  Step 2: Install the Windows updates pending

  To check the updates:

  1.   These games is managed inside of Internet Explorer? If this isn't the case, then I suggest contacting the manufacturer of your computer for the latest pgrahics drivers. If installation of those who does not resolve the problem, then try to change your resolution to one of the following values (depending on the size of your screen):

  1024 x 768
  1280 x 800 (wide, common form for laptops)
  1280 x 1024
  1680 x 1050 (widescreen)

  To change your resolution:

  1. click on START
  2. click on "Control Panel."
  3. double click on "display".
  4. click on the tab "settings".
  5. change the resolution on your cursor tab and then click on 'Apply' at the bottom right

He installed an "auditor of system" 1 who reported a few minor problems, but none of them were associated with wifi or touchscreen. after upgrade both the touch screen or wifi do any work! Good start of Microsoft! Why can't just work? "Anyway - I googled a little and found this is normal and I should have installed a pre-upgrade Acer 1 pack?  Is is true that I can't find it anywhere and I wonder if it exists, can someone point me in the right direction and also let me know if I can install it now that I have already installed windows8!   It was fine until now...

  When I press the power button, my laptop turns on but the screen remains black / off.

  Long ago, I had similar problem on my old Satellite. CPU was faulty. After replacing the CPU, everything was OK again.
  I put t really know what to say.
  Maybe you should contact Toshiba and let check your laptop. They have diagnostic tools and may know what is the problem.
