  • Migration from SQL Server to Oracle during 11.1.2.4 upgrade

    Hi all

To further expand on the title, wanted to check if it is possible to migrate from SQL Server to Oracle, while improving 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.4 on brand-new material. There is a change in all the components (s/w, h/w, RDBMS) so I wanted to run this generic statement by the forum to see what the experts think.

Where in the equation can count us on LCM?

I know that John Goodwin had already answered a few questions on the same subject for previous versions, but as 11.1.2.4 is a different game... I would be grateful if someone could share their thoughts.

    Thank you!

If you are installed on hardware costs and migration then it should be independent of the RDBMS. Not to say there is no problems with passing of 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.4 (if you use planning, for example, business rules-> Calc Manager) but they certainly should not be linked to the fact you've changed the underlying database.

  • How can I connect to SQL Server with the Muse?

I want to query items from database and load it to the front end. Is there a way that muse can connect to the sql server database?

It is not yet possible for Muse. Muse only creates .html pages. Connection to a database would require some php or other scripting to bind the data. It is beyond the scope of Muse and I don't see what is happening for a while.

  • Migration from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10g

    Dear friends,

I need to move my tables with data from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10 g. How can we make the best possible?

    Please guide me.

    Nith

Here are the 4 options (it is perhaps more)

    * 1.* export to text file in SQL2005 and load text files using external table in Oracle

    * 2 in the Oracle ODBC for SQL Server connection configuration and simply pull the data using create table abc to select * mytable@sqlserver - if the oracle is on windows, this should be quick, free and painless, it works under unix as well. Examples

    http://www.databasejournal.com/features/Oracle/article.php/3442661/making-a-connection-from-Oracle-to-SQL-Server.htm
    http://www.easysoft.com/applications/Oracle/database-gateway-dg4odbc.html

    * 3.*, I think that you can configure the connection between SQL SERVER and Oracle

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/280106

or and I hate this solution in general, but it works in the content is low

    * 4 in MS Access link to ORACLE and MS SQL Tables (two linked tables) and then create the insert query to move the data from the server sql for oracle - this solution works, but it is quite slow.

I also made sure my dvd rom works correctly. I also had the disc 2012 replace with the same result. What am I doing wrong please help.

You could go to another computer with an optical drive to work and try the disc here. If this works, copy the contents of the disc to a folder on a USB key, and then try to install on the computer you want.

  • SQL Server 2012 & System Center R2 2012

We are running Configuration Manager and Operations Manager R2 2012 in our environment.

We originally he set up to test using SQL Server Evaluation in 2012.

Configuration Manager uses 2 instances (CFGMGR and WSUS) to its own database and WSUS.

Operations Manager uses an instance (OPSMGR) for its own database as well.

We decided to keep applications and bought our licenses SC 2012 R2 Datacenter. Configuration Manager and Operations Manager seems to have activated just fine on their own application after the keys, however, SQL instances have reached the end of their trial period and will start is no longer, making the Config, Ops and completely useless WSUS. The agreement stipulates that there is no product key for SQL Server 2012 Standard because apparently they are not necessary to run the components of the SC. What should I do to get my SQL Server of the assessment to the standard and active instances? In an attempt to relaunch the installation I used to install the evaluation, the only other available edition is Express and it does not accept the only key that I got from our license agreement.

On the 'forum' SQL Server, they were (are) puzzled, but one person suggested that I might need to load .net Framework 3.5.1. So I downloaded this file (dotnetfx35setup) and tried to run that. Lo and behold... nothing happens. When I check Control Panel, Microsoft .net framework 3.5.1 is not listed, so I guess that that didn't work either.

It is a brand new Dell XPS 8700 (within a month). What can I do? Tonight, I saw something hintgs that I need .net framework 2. However, in kivght else each attempt failed, I hesitate to try this.

Error occurs when you use SQL Server 2012 assessment vs window detail of the object in window 7.  I use the window of the object but the detail of the objects window arrives and immediately SQL Server stops with the error below and then opens again.  I didn't find any help with this specific error is but suspect there is a problem between SLQ Server 2012 et.NET Framework 4.  Unfortunately, I do not know what it takes in this regard.

  • Why odi creates datetime2 (27) type of data and because of create table in sql server 2012 is a failure

    Hey

I had a situation in the present case, I flat file and I want to load it into sql server 2012.

In the flatfile I have 2 data types of columns date and I chose LKM FILE TO SQL, when I try to run it fails to create the work table.

When I c the code in this step it shows

    create the table dev.dbo.C$ _0TES

    (

    ASN_BOL_NBR NUMERIC (7,0) NULL,

    ASN_CARTON NUMERIC (20.0) NULL,

    ASN_SHORT_SKU NUMERIC (7,0) NULL,

    ASN_SKU_CHECK_DIGIT NUMERIC (1.0) NULL,

    ASN_DESC VARCHAR (25) NULL,

    ASN_QUANTITY NUMERIC (7,0) NULL,

    ASN_LEAVE_DATE DATETIME2 (27) NULL,

    ASN_ARRIVAL_DATE DATETIME2 (27) NULL,

    ASN_MULT_PACK VARCHAR (1) NULL,

    ASN_MULT_SKU VARCHAR (1) NULL

    )

    MSG 1002, level 15, State 1, line 9

Line 9: Specified scale 27 is not valid.

DATETIME2 (27) the table of creative work is a failure because of the type of data

    ASN_LEAVE_DATE DATETIME2 (27)

    ASN_ARRIVAL_DATE DATETIME2 (27)

    Is there a way to avoid a DATETIME2 (27)?

    Thank you!

Yes, I would certainly put the data on the source of the string type.

Then in your mapping/interface, you can use the CONVERT function.

For example, CONVERT (DATETIME, YOUR.) ASN_LEAVE_DATE, 101)

In this example, 101 as a style means that your file contains a date in the format dd/mm/yyyy.

See CAST and CONVERT (Transact-SQL) to find out what style you apply.

  • PowerVault NX400. It is possible to work with a Cluster SQL Server 2012?

Hello, a customer asks me if the current NAS solution, they (DELL PowerVault NX400) will allow them to work as a shared Volume of participating in a Cluster of SQL Server Cluster using SQL Server 2012. If no what others don't bottom end (for small businesses) will be used for these purposes? Receive your answer. What about Diego VP

    DiegoVp

    Thks. DevMgr.

In this sense, whereas the NX400 comes with Windows STORAGE Server 2012, which has an iSCSI Target Server (as a service) will allow only external 2 servers (active, active cluster) running Windows Server 2012 to use NAS as shared storage?   .

Yes, if you use the iSCSI target option on your NX400, you could actually use your NX400 as a SAN and allow other 2 servers run a shared storage cluster.

A few things to keep in mind:

-When your NX400 must restart (for finishing or any other reason), you will need to first down both your servers in cluster

-I recommend putting on 2 separate subnets and switches iSCSI traffic (or at least isolated VLAN on 2 separate physical switches). In other words; Avoid iSCSI traffic running on your local network for reasons of reliability and performance. I'd read some of the documentation of Equallogic iSCSI switch to see how you configure switches for iSCSI.
