1 can't read on a Windows "upgrade version" which, in my experience, does NOT require you to format your drive... updated on what you have, without disturbing programs installed... at least that's what happened the ONLY time wherever I installed an upgrade version, so I can't give a 100% guarantee that it will work with your computer in this way... search link for all the things Microsoft http://search.microsoft.com/search.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US

What are these files for ACCFinderBundleLoader_64 and ACCFinderBundleLoader_32? They appear in my dashboard!

I think to delete because they bother me when they have a place in the Launchpad among my applications.

    Hi all!

I just talk to Adobe about this and they have me remove this item.

To do this, you must go to the finder, search ACCFinderBundleLoader_64, and then drag it to the trash.

    Then delete the trash.

    It worked for me.

I have a HP with Windows Vista Premium installed.  I got a CD with a file that has the extension .mdb.   What are my options to open and view this file?    There is a second file on the disk with an extension .ldb.   What kind of file is it?

Second, the recommendations that you offer for pc virus protection?   My coverage of Trend Micro systems allows access to the Explorer after I disable add ons... while I am limited with respect to the capabilities of the computer.

    Thank you!

.Mdb and .ldb file extensions are used by the Microsoft Access database program. .mdb is a .ldb file is a lock file. You may be able to consult the data base with Access runtime, downloadable here:

  • What are my options for upgrading to Windows 2000.

It of finally time to update my existing operating system, but do not have the time for a clean installation at the present time.  Can I switch to XP?

    Hi russman9785,

There are five methods for installing Windows XP. Consider the following methods, and then select the appropriate method for your installation.

    • Method 1: Perform a clean installation of Windows XP
Use this method for a clean installation of Windows XP. A new installation deletes all data from your hard disk by repartitioning and reformatting your hard disk and reinstall the operating system and programs empty (clean) hard disk.
    • Method 2: upgrade to Windows XP
Use this method if you upgrade to Windows XP from Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition or Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
    • Method 3: Install Windows XP on a new hard drive
Use this method to install Windows XP on a new hard drive. This is usually done when a new hard drive is installed on your computer.
    • Method 4: Install Windows XP to a new folder (parallel installation)
Use this method to install Windows XP to a new folder (parallel installation) to run two operating systems, or to access, repair, or retrieve data from a damaged disc.
    • Method 5: Perform a multiple boot operation
Use this method to install Windows XP as a separate operating system on your computer. This allows you to install several operating systems on your computer, then select the operating system you want to use every time that you start your computer.

  • What are my options for upgrading to Acrobat 8 Pro?

I have a user who sometimes creates and modifies forms using Acrobat 8 Pro. It uses Live Cycle for some forms. We need to upgrade it to a newer version. I am aware that Live Cycle is now a separate license. What are my upgrade options - if any? Just buy a new license for Acrobat Pro and Live Cycle? Can I still purchase XI or DC my only choice. We are not interested in the characteristics of the clouds.

    Thank you.

You have no option to upgrade.

You can only buy DC Acrobat from Adobe.

You will need to purchase LiveCycle Designer separately.

  • What are my options for CMYK?

I recently received a small batch of calendars of a local commercial printers.  The colors are OK, but to do not match the originals, especially the blue.  I had similar problems with another printer greeting cards.  The problem seems to be that I provided the original files in the RGB color space, but they print using CMYK.

I thought process using Lightroom 4, with if necessary adjustments being made using 10 items. To the best of my knowledge neither of these programs have the ability to edit or backup in the CMYK color space.  For more specific colors is my only option to purchase the full version of Photoshop (CS6 or CC), then convert and color correct my images in CMYK mode before sending it to the printer.?

    Any suggestion would be appreciated

You must either get something like Photoshop to convert or have the shop do it for you, which may be a better option. Conversion to CMYK is easy (just select the option), but it's a critical super function CMYK is highly dependent on device which means that you must use the appropriate conversion process (specified by an ICC profile). If you do not do this correctly, your output may be terrible and it is a costly mistake. So yes, Photoshop can do the conversions, but you have the printing own ICC profile? They will provide it?

  • We have XP computers that have standard versions Adobe 6 or 7 from Adobe on them, we also have computers windows 7 without any version of adobe installed on them.  What are our options for all systems using the same version of Adobe?

    !

Your choice is basically Acrobat XI (Pro or STD - I suggest Pro). If you have enough computers to deal with, you can talk to Adobe for license site (or volume). Compatibility problems are given to system requirements | The Acrobat product family. I have XP on a machine too, but is planning to upgrade to Windows 7. XP is now a risk to the security and very dangerous in an office environment. If you upgrade the machines (attention, Win 8.1 and even Windows 7 cannot be compatible with your hardware), then you would always buy AA XI, possibly with a volume license (you'd have to talk to the Adobe volume licensing).

AA6 and AA7 are extensible. If you are talking about a new purchase of Acrobat for machines and probably an upgrade of the OS for XP machines.

  • What are good Options for installing Linux on a Mac?

I have a Macbook Air in 2013 with a SSD 256 GB and 8 GB of memory. I have 80 GB free. I have Hyperacusis and had problems with a noisy computer a few years back, so wanted to avoid noisy readers.

I need to be able to access my files from either OS X / Mac OS or Linux. This is the biggest problem. If I can't work on the same files in OS X / Mac OS and Linux, I can't really do much with Linux.

I have trouble with some accessibility problems in OS x:

    1. I have sensory problems and need to disable more animation and more still of the blinking cursor. I used a hack to disable flashing cursors in some applications, but it does not work in LibreOffice, Pages, Mail, etc. It should work in Scrivener, and I plan to spend to Scrivener. He also works in bean and Textedit.

    2. I have problems of coordination/proprioception and could use the wider scroll bars. I currently use Scroll + scroll software, but it doesn't go anywhere. I could use a version of sticky keys, but the current version is not yet there. It shows the active keys on the screen, but I need to update t on the keyboard.

I will need to avoid some problems of accessibility on Linux:

    1. I have sensory problems and you will need to disable the animation and flashing cursors. I need to be able to boot Linux with minimum brightness. I tried Kde always open in blinding brightness.

    2. I have problems of coordination/proprioception and need to disable the touchpad gestures and listen; This required a patch kernel in Ubuntu, which meant running a non - lts version, which meant not being not able to use the Ubuntu repositories after support missed. I need to be able to keep the visible scroll bars and expand their. Sometimes, I need to use a software of scrolling.

One option is to use refined and a full install. It's intimidating. I'm done with installation of Xubuntu broke at some point because it crashed while it was installing. Another option is to use VMWare Fusion or Parallels or an equivalent Mac of Wubi.

One of these options would allow me to access my files from Linux? Those who would work with my lack of experience and power limited processor programming limited disk space?

    Thank you.

Yes, I would say that all VMs are options to save money, I would try to go with oracle virtualbox, it is free I use osx to run a Windows 10 and machines virtual ubuntu it allows me to access the files across, although you mind a program under osx, maybe not 100% safe to use the same format as the same program under linux so that could cause a problem if this is the case.

Or you can also get a displayport to hdmi, to get the laptop to the LCD screen.

If you need a dedicated digital audio, a card usb sound with digital toslink or coaxial out.

    Hello

A .lnk file is a standard shortcut in Windows. The shortcuts are very often placed on the desktop, or in a control panel application such as Windows Start menu Launcher.

Looks like that file Associations may be corrupted on your system.

Let us know what version of Windows you are using and we can help solve the problem.

  • My husband hates version 4 so what are my options when the support went to the old version?

My husband hates the new tabs in version 4 and had me reload the old version. What are my options for using Firefox, after that support is gone? I don't want to use Internet Explorer. Someone at - it an alternative?

"My husband hates the new tabs in version 4...".

Don't like the "tabs on top"? You can change this to display the tabs below the toolbars, for example, one of the following:

    • Using the Firefox button: click on the Firefox button > Options, click on "Tabs at the top" to remove the check mark (checked = on, unchecked = off)
    • Using the Menu bar: click on view > toolbars, click "Tabs at the top" to remove the check mark
    • Hold DOWN the ALT key while pressing keyboard letters ATV (removes / places the checkbox for "Tabs at the top" without having to open a dialog box)

"What are my options for using Firefox, after support is gone?"

Firefox 3.6 is likely to be supported for some time. In general, supported by Mozilla continues for 6 months after the introduction of a new version, but Firefox 3.5 is still supported beyond this 'General' rule of 6 months.

NOTE: There are other changes that can be made to Firefox 4 to make it look and behave more like Firefox 3.6. See:

You need to update the following:

The MS Installer Cleanup Utility is available at http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html , that it is a safe to download site from.  Based on warnings from Microsoft on the cleanup utility, however, you might well advised to make a backup disk image or at least a backup of the registry before using it.  C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT is an easy to use free registry backup tool.
