What effect resize file temp on primary does the database pending?

We have a weekly work on primary that resizes the temp tablespace.
STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT = 'AUTO' so am I correct in the assumption that the changes will be transmitted and replicated standby, even if they are temporary files?
I'll live with DG in 2 weeks and continues to think about questions like this!
Thank you

Written to tempfiles are not connected, so are not shipped to the standby database. Entries in the temporary file on the primary causing the tempfile wish do not cause the tempfile on the eve of extend. TempFiles on standby can be added/removed/resized independently in primary, even with STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT = 'AUTO '.

If the watch is purely for the recovery and remains permanently in managed recovery mode, then the day before will not even need a temporary file until after it has been activated in a situation of switching/switching.

  • Try file TEMP shrink method locks the session PLSQL

    Hello world

    I'm working on a dev limited and had the surprise of a great TEMP server. DBF file after a query of cramps.
    I want to reduce it, but did not find any dqtqbqse for her statement.
    After several tests, the only method I can understand reading several forums is to remove/create the temp tablespace and file.
    Using this script:
    CREATE a TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp0
    TEMPFILE 'H:\oraclexe\oradata\XE\temp0.dbf' SIZE 256M REUSE
    AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 256M MAXSIZE 10G
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT UNIFORM LOCAL 1 M SIZE;
    ALTER DATABASE by DEFAULT TABLESPACE TEMPORARY temp0;
    DROP TABLESPACE temp including CONTENTS AND DATA files;
    Temp to CREATE a TEMPORARY TABLESPACE
    TEMPFILE 'H:\oraclexe\oradata\XE\temp.dbf' SIZE 256M REUSE
    AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 256M MAXSIZE 10G
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT UNIFORM LOCAL 1 M SIZE;
    ALTER DATABASE default TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
    DROP TABLESPACE temp0 including CONTENT AND DATA files;

    Step DROP TABLESPACE temp including CONTENTS AND DATA files; locks of my session and I leave with a Ctrl-C.

    No idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

    Fred

    Depends on if any segments are still active or used by sessions, including yours.

    Adding an another temporary tablespace can work, but be careful with the part 'reuse', you do want to try to crush a temporary file that has occupied so segments - use a name different tempfile for the new temporary tablespace tempfile.

    If stopping and restarting the database are an option, which clears the segments of the kind in use in the temporary tablespace. As soon as the database opens, a "alter resize tempfile '... / temp01.dbf ' database 100M;" work could , I think that, if you can get the applied change before users start chewing space temp again.

    Try a shrink on assets, default temp space is doubtful and will not work unless the user sessions are not held on all tempfile segments allocated for users.

    And I'm not positive that the ' including CONTENT AND DATA files... "part is quite correct, may have to be '..." AND TEMPFILES. "but will check on that. And may not work unless all segments of the kind have been released.

  • Heavy binary files must be stored in the database?

    I was asked an interesting question: If a database contains all the data? Or large binary files must be stored in the file system?

    Example of large binary files: videos or PDFs heavy (+ 200 MB).

    With an old aspx web app (1.1) I tried to open a 200 MB pdf file stored as a BLOB in a base of Oracle 11 g and it has run out of memory.

    However, same asp.net web application had no problem to open the same pdf file stored in the file system on a server. It could be that maybe there is some way to open fields heavy blobs with asp.net.

    For reasons of integrity, I say that all data must be stored in the database, but my cases described showed me that maybe it's not the way.

    SQL Server allows the content of the columns of varbinary (max) to be stored on the file system, maybe there is something similar in Oracle?

    With an old aspx web app (1.1) I tried to open a 200 MB pdf file stored as a BLOB in a base of Oracle 11 g and it has run out of memory.

    It could be that maybe there is some way to open fields heavy blobs with asp.net.

    Depends entirely on how to open BLOB.
    A simple way is enter any value in table (like getArray()). It can be risky when there are great values.
    More sophisticated is to read in chunks.
    In environments such as Java or ASP.net programming should be operable methods BLOB as a stream of data. In Java, it is ResultSet.getBinaryStream)
    You can spend this additional flow, for example the browser connection. It will read the BLOB value into small pieces (or 64K) and pass it to the browser or whatever the customer.

  • [ADF, JDev12.1.3] (How to set values for the attributes 1) to create a file and 2) committing to the database?

    Hallo,

    in my tables and forms (created from VO istances) there are some areas for which, insert and update, I calculate and set the value programmatically when a record is created or updated.

    In some cases, I put the necessary values using the 'CreateWithParams' in the workflow diagram...

    In some other ones, I associate an action, a bean, a created button drag-and - drop operation 'CreateWithParams' of the istance VO...

      public String cwpButton_action() {
        BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
        OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("CreateWithParams");
        // here I calculate and set the needed params
        // ...
        Object result = operationBinding.execute();
        if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
          return null;
        }
        return null;
      }

    And is ok if I can calculate the values for the attributes before a new record is created.

    But the approach that I have used to define the attributes (for new and updated records) whose value should be caluclated after the user has filled in the fields, before committing to the database?

    Thank you

    Federico

    Federico,

    Let me first tell you that our code is activity masking errors (the cache instead of working on them).

    1. If (! operationBinding.getErrors () .isEmpty ()) {}
    2. Returns a null value.
    3. }
    4. Returns a null value.

    This means that you do not check the errors at all. You must at least print a log with the error message, you receive, if you get one!

    To solve your problem, you override the method prepareForDML() of the entity or entities in question. You can calculate and set the necessary attributes until they get engaged in the doDML(). Do not use doDML() because it is too late in the life cycle.

  • FILE EXPLORER Windows 10 does not work

    I upgraded from windows 7 Home Windows 10. Everything worked for three months. Now my file manager does not work. If I double click on a shortcut, nothing happens. No message or errors, no feedback at all. If I select file from the menu 10 windows Explorer it lists recent locations, but if I click on anything that it is once more the window closes and no feedback of any kind. To access my files, I have to go well as the search for application files. Is no more, I can add folders or improve my organization of files. Of course he used to work so I guess it has become corrupt. What do we do to fix this problem, I see, it is a common problem in looking at the forums for microsoft, but no one said a suggested fix worked.

    Hello

    Here what's new on the win10 File Explorer:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-10/getstarted-whats-changed-in-file-explorer

    And here is the solution:

    The service is called Windows search and disabled once it provided functionality in the file Explorer. The search function in the file Explorer works but isn't looking in the taskbar.

    Step by step guide:
    1. hold Win + r to open the run
    2. type msconfig and click ok or enter
    3. click on Services
    4. go to Windows search (you can sort the list in descending alphabetical order)
    5. clear the check box
    6. click apply then ok
    7. Select restart now

    I hope it works for you.

  • What effect of illustrator USERS pay to arrive at this shape?

    I read the form below with the pen:

    And I love the transformer to get this:

    can-stock-photo_csp13915593.png

    I am beginner on Illustrator, what effect or comment I do pay have the result above please? Pour the well curve effect have! Thank you!

    DanR,

    It looks like anchors (much) too much and too little ClickDragging...

    The key to smooth and soft rounding is to use as few Anchor Points as possible and to get the length of the handles to the right when you ClickDrag each.

    You can work with different shapes to get used to the pen tool.

    Specifically, for this task, you can use the image displayed as locked model and work on it. Yo can start at the bottom of the almost circular curve to the left and ClickDrag to the left, then ClickDrag up in the Middle, then to the right at the top of the page top of the borough where it changes and then take it from there. You will see if it follows the form provided, and where he works to place Anchor Points.

    You can Ctrl / Cmd + Z to cancel and go back, and you can adjust the position of the anchor current while drawing, holding the SPACEBAR to freeze the handles and move the anchor Point and then let go to continue.

    After the drawing, you can also click on each anchor with the direct Selection tool (start with the path not selected), then ClickDrag the Point Anhor to change its position and one of the handles to change the shape/bend.

    There are many more, but maybe it's a start.

  • Waiting for redo log file missing when restore main database using RMAN backup that was taken on the database physical standby

    Here's my question after tons of research and test without have the right solutions.

    Target:

    (1) I have a 12.1.0.2 database unique main enterprise 'testdb' as database instance running on the server "node1".

    (2) I created physical standby database "stbydb" on the server "node2".

    (3) DataGuard running on the mode of MaxAvailability (SYNC) with roll forward in real time 12 default c apply.

    (4) primary database has 3 groups of one-man redo. (/oraredo/testdb/redo01.log redo02.log redo03.log)

    (5) I've created 4 standby redo logfiles (/oraredo/testdb/stby01.log stby02.log stby03.log stby04.log)

    (6) I do RMAN backup (database and archivelog) on the site of relief only.

    (7) I want to use this backup for full restore of the database on the primary database.

    He is a DR test to simulate the scenario that has lost every primary & Eve total servers.

    Here is how to save, on the database pending:

    (1) performance 'alter database recover managed standby database Cancel' to ensure that compatible data files

    (2) RMAN > backup database;

    (3) RMAN > backup archivelog all;

    I got elements of backup and copied to primary db Server something like:

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_nnndf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq099p_.BKP (data files)

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.BKP (spfile & controlfile)

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_annnn_TAG20151002T133357_c0xq15xf_.BKP (archivelogs)

    So here's how to restore, on the main site:

    I clean all the files (data files, controlfiles oder all gone).

    (1) restore spfile from pfile

    RMAN > startup nomount

    RMAN > restore spfile from pfile ' / home/oracle/pfile.txt' to ' / home/oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.bkp';

    (2) modify pfile to convert to db primary content. pFile shows below

    *.audit_file_dest='/opt/Oracle/DB/admin/testdb/adump '

    * .audit_trail = "db".

    * full = '12.1.0.2.0'

    *.control_files='/oradata/testdb/control01.ctl','/orafra/testdb/control02.ctl'

    * .db_block_size = 8192

    * .db_domain = "

    *.db_file_name_convert='/testdb/','/testdb /'

    * .db_name = "testdb".

    * .db_recovery_file_dest ='/ orafra'

    * .db_recovery_file_dest_size = 10737418240

    * .db_unique_name = "testdb".

    *.diagnostic_dest='/opt/Oracle/DB '

    * .fal_server = "stbydb".

    * .log_archive_config = 'dg_config = (testdb, stbydb)'

    * .log_archive_dest_2 = "service = stbydb SYNC valid_for = (ONLINE_LOGFILE, PRIMARY_ROLE) db_unique_name = stbydb'"

    * .log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'ENABLE '.

    *.log_file_name_convert='/testdb/','/testdb /'

    * .memory_target = 1800 m

    * .open_cursors = 300

    * runoff = 300

    * .remote_login_passwordfile = "EXCLUSIVE."

    * .standby_file_management = "AUTO".

    * .undo_tablespace = "UNDOTBS1.

    (3) restart db with updated file pfile

    SQLPLUS > create spfile from pfile='/home/oracle/pfile.txt'

    SQLPLUS > the judgment

    SQLPLUS > startup nomount

    (4) restore controlfile

    RMAN > restore primary controlfile to ' / home/oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.bkp';

    RMAN > change the editing of the database

    (5) all elements of backup catalog

    RMAN > catalog starts by ' / home/oracle/backupset / '.

    (6) restore and recover the database

    RMAN > restore database;

    RMAN > recover database until the SNA XXXXXX; (this YVERT is the maximum in archivelog backups that extends beyond the scn of the backup of the data file)

    (7) open resetlogs

    RMAN > alter database open resetlogs;

    Everything seems perfect, except one of the file log roll forward pending is not generated

    SQL > select * from v$ standby_log;

    ERROR:

    ORA-00308: cannot open archived log ' / oraredo/testdb/stby01.log'

    ORA-27037: unable to get file status

    Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory

    Additional information: 3

    no selected line

    I intended to use the same backup to restore primary basic & helps record traffic and the downtime between them in the world of real output.

    So I have exactly the same steps (except STANDBY restore CONTROLFILE and not recover after database restore) to restore the database pending.

    And I got the same missing log file.

    The problem is:

    (1) complete alert.log filled with this error, not the concern here

    (2) now repeat it in real time apply won't work since the Party shall LGWR shows always "WAITING_FOR_LOG."

    (3) I can't delete and re-create this log file

    Then I tried several and found:

    The missing standby logfile was still 'ACTIVE' at present RMAN backup was made.

    For example, on db standby, under Group #4 (stby01.log) would be lost after the restoration.

    SQL > select GROUP #, SEQUENCE #, USE (s), the STATUS from v$ standby_log;

    GROUP # SEQUENCE # USED STATUS

    ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

    4 19 ACTIVE 133632

    5 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    6 0 0 not ASSIGNED

    7 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    So until I take the backup, I tried on the primary database:

    SQL > alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = delay;

    This was the Group of standby_log side Eve #4 was released:

    SQL > select GROUP #, SEQUENCE #, USE (s), the STATUS from v$ standby_log;

    GROUP # SEQUENCE # USED STATUS

    ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

    4 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    5 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    6 0 0 not ASSIGNED

    7 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    Then, the backup has been restored correctly without missing standby logfile.

    However, to change this primary database means break DataGuard protection when you perform the backup. It's not accept on the production environment.

    Finally, my real questions come:

    (1) what I do may not do on parameter change?

    (2) I know I can re-create the control file to redo before delete and then recreate after. Is there any simple/fast to avoid the standby logfile lost or recreate the lost one?

    I understand that there are a number of ways to circumvent this. Something to keep a copy of the log file waiting restoration progress and copy up one missing, etc, etc...

    And yes I always have done no real-time applies "to the aid of archived logfile" but is also not accept mode of protection of production.

    I just want proof that the design (which is displayed in a few oracle doc Doc ID 602299.1 is one of those) that backs up data backup works effectively and can be used to restore the two site. And it may be without spending more time to resume backups or put the load on the primary database to create the database before.

    Your idea is very much appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • Download file from the database server, through application server.

    Nice day

    I use Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.

    I have a requirement to download a file that already exists on the database server Directory. Now my current scenario is that user is connected to the application server, and the user has no direct access to the database server.  I drew a diagram of my requirement as:

    DownloadFile.png

    I get a way to do this. Please suggest.

    Best regards,

    Julien

    The session does not expire if you are streaming data from the application to the client. However, you will need to manage the data sent over the network, because it can make the very slow network if you send this amount of data at high speeds on the network and then to the customer. This connection between client and server is the biggest problem, because bandwidth is usually small. Think about downloading software by one side oracle (for example 1 GB), this takes time and is prone to errors.

    We did something similar by transferring the data from the database (in our case, it has been stored in a BLOB) on a dedicated server with a server web apache on it. Then, we send a link to the client, which then uses the link to get the special file server data.

    The advantage is that you don't have to code the transfer of huge files in the application of the adf but can already use ready to use of software (balancing bandwidth and the recovery of a broken download).

  • ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file error in database pending.

    Hello

    I have a back-end database and the base ensures (11.2.0.1.0) that runs in ASM with the names of different diskgroup. I applied an incremental backup on a standby database to solve the gap newspaper archive and generated a controlfile to standby in the primary database and restore the standby database controlfile. But when I started the MRP process his starts not and lift error in the alerts log ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock file. When I questioned the standby database file it shows the location on primary data filenames not the database pending.

    The actual physical location of files of database Eve in ASM in the standby server is shown below

    ASMCMD > pwd

    + STDBY/11gdb/DATAFILE

    ASMCMD >

    ASMCMD >

    ASMCMD > pwd

    + STDBY/11gdb/DATAFILE

    I even tried to rename the data files in the database backup, but it throws error

    ERROR on line 1:

    ORA-01511: Error renaming data/log files

    ORA-01275: RENAME Operation is not allowed if management undo file is

    Kind regards

    You must specify the complete location

    *.db_file_name_convert='+data/OraDB/datafile/,'+STDBY/11gdb/DATAFILE /'

    and to rename the data file, your standby_file_management parameter must be set to MANUAL.

  • Download a file to save to the database

    Hi all

    I have a web application whose access to users through browser. There is a screen where I list certificates to a person of database. My requirement is that user for a particular certificate, select a file and click join. Then, I need to download this file and saved in the database for this certificate.

    What are the steps in uploading a file to be saved in the database?
    <form>
    <input type="hidden" name="certificate_id" />
    <input type="file" name="certificate_file" />
    <input type="submit" value="Attach" />
    </form>

    I guess you have the HTML for the download of a file? (You have not given any information on this subject).

    If so, then I suggest you use the Apache FileUpload package (if you aren't already - you provided no information on this subject). It comes with examples that should work out of the box. At least for the download, which you said is your main concern at this time.
