What HOST the LISTENER is running from?

Hello

I have a few questions.

< Li > Q1: is there a way to find the HOUSE that is the LISTENER connecting? (House or House of RDBMS Oracle ASM) [Oracle 10 g 2-10.2.0.5 on Linux 64-bit]

Here's the Info for the 2nd quarter:
Home page < li > I installed Home ASM and Oracle's RDBMS on a server (10 gr 2 on Linux).
ASM Home = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/asm_1
RDBMS Home = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1
I configured the listener under the House of ASM.

Now when I try to connect to the database (sqlplus sys/pwd@locadb as sysdba) on the same server and when ORACLE_HOME = House of RDBMS, I get following error:

< li > ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve identified the specified connection

But when I copy the tnsnames.ora to admin/network directory of the ASM House to the home of the Oracle RDBMS admin/network directory, it works OK.

< Li > Q2: does this mean that I have to maintain TWO copies of tnsnames.ora OR there is something else that needs to be done I don't know?

Please advise!

Hello

I have a few questions.

  • Q1: Is there a way to find the HOUSE that is the LISTENER connecting? (House or House of RDBMS Oracle ASM) [Oracle 10 g 2-10.2.0.5 on Linux 64-bit]

  • Enter the following information to an operating system command prompt:

    ps -ef|grep tns

Here's the Info for the 2nd quarter:

  • ASM and Oracle RDBMS reception at home, I installed on a server (10 gr 2 on Linux).

    ASM Home = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/asm_1
    RDBMS Home = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1

I configured the listener under the House of ASM.

  • As you should have

Now when I try to connect to the database (sqlplus sys/pwd@locadb as sysdba) on the same server and when ORACLE_HOME = House of RDBMS, I get following error:

  • ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve identified the specified connection

  • See: [url http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/ora-12154tns-03505/] ora-12154 TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified

But when I copy the tnsnames.ora to admin/network directory of the ASM House to the home of the Oracle RDBMS admin/network directory, it works OK.

  • Q2: Does this mean that I have to maintain TWO copies of tnsnames.ora OR there is something else that needs to be done I don't know?

  • You pouvez maintain two copies of the tnsnames file. It is not really necessary in the House of the DSO. tnsnames.ora is used by the client process, not used by the listener.

    Please advise!

1 do as you did. You probably never have to touch the tnsnames in home of ASM. OR
2 - use the tns_admin environment variable to point to your files tnsnames. OR
    3. choose one tnsnames file to maintain, then either have nothing else than an ifile = reference to point to the other.

    Choose your poison.

    • What is the hierarchy for running reports?

      Hello world

Can someone tell me what is the hierarchy for running reports as fact when the query data model is executed, when groups (Group of columns, the place holders etc. within a group of data model is executed), form setting etc is executed.

      Thank you
      Gerard

If there are two absolutely independent querries, then I can just tell.
If two querries are related, then, that the other is linked is executed first.
But before any two querry run the beforereport, the beforeparameterform and after triggers parameterform.
So, the best way to ensure that something is executed first is putting in the afterpform trigger.
Do not count the trigger on afterreport.

    • Modding administered a LGS326 - to THE switch to run from 12V DC supply.

      Hi all

(Type this message again as the 'Preview' button has lost the original on me. Silly me thought 'Preview' meant "Show me what the message looks like" not "delete the message and show me a preview pane empty instead. My bad.  Edit: It would be because Linksys decided to spray on 50 domains JavaScript so NoScript says no.  What is wrong to put the JavaScript code on community.linksys.com with HTML code)?

I'm implementing a cluster of virtual machines as an exercise in self-education. As an additional technical challenge, I design the system to run with 240V solar power backup. So ideally the whole system will have to run from 12V, coming from a battery of 100Ah. I'll expand on that later.

Now, I did research the area and apart from some industrial switches which were mostly 100 Mbps and very expensive, there is almost no manageable offered 24 gigabit ports + held of the 12V. There is a possible market for Linksys. I don't need industrial design temperatures.

After some research, I found myself buy a LGS326-UA, which runs the industry normally. It's 90% of what I'm after. 4 gal can do but I can work around that, it has sufficient capacity of VLAN for what I want.

Out of curiosity, I cracked open box to see if it was possible to modify it to run from 12V. That's what I found: https://hackaday.io/project/10529/log/34622-modding-the-switch-for-12v-operation

So the switch supports internally, 240V to 12V, then probably goes down after 3.3V / 5V. So certainly doable - warranty is not my concern here.

I have a few regulators IDO (Micrel 29750) coming that should handle this. I probed around with a multimeter and can identify it seems to be a split of power supply 12 v on two pairs of drivers with non-standard color coding, so I'll have to move carefully, some tough filtering (a Bank of low ESR electrolytic) should do.

Did anyone here tried a similar amendment before? All boards/traps to watch out for?

(Edit to correct the really bad formatting.  Once more, in this world of vulnerabilities XSS, really should we spread the code 50 ways to Sunday?)

Well, I did it.  For those who were wondering what the answer is, it should be a good starting point.  Essentially, the green/yellow wires are wires are the 0V and Red/Black + 12V.  They are parallel connections together, filled on both sides.  If you're unsure, you can check by returning the motherboard to the wire and looking for one of the pins on the electrolytic capacitors; the negative sides are marked, and you should find that there is a short to 0V on the negative side.

Given there are a couple of supplies of switchmode step 12V down to the 5V and 3.3V, you are probably safe to go below 12V, I found myself using a small reg IDO, which keeps the power slightly lower at 12V and so far, the switch works fine.  No magic smoke yet. :-)

    • If I use XP as a server and I'm an admin, I can see what programs the workstations are running?

I want to know if employees use a computer for games & online communication.

I don't know exactly what you're asking.  If the workstations are running programs that are located on your server, then Yes, you can see which files are open on your server:

Right click on 'My Computer'-> manage-> System Tools->-> open files, shared folders

If you want to see the processes that are currently active on other computers, you can use a tool such as "PsList.exe" that can produce a list of active processes on a computer connected to the network, given that you have administrator credentials on the other computer.  PsList is a program in the suite programs PsTools:

    • What is the easiest quick/more from presenter 11 to youtube?

I must start by saying that I can't believe the presenter has no way to publish on YouTube.  Given that, now that I have already created my lesson using Presenter, what do I convoluted steps should I take to get to YouTube?  I also Captivate, but when I imported the PPT of presenter, he lost all the audio and video, I have just the screens themselves as if they were screenshots.  No help.

I also have Video Express and Media Encoder.

      Thank you

      Marty

      Marty,

Short answer is that it is not a reasonable way to go the presenter on YouTube. The Video Express tool will capture your screen and webcam video and audio, but not the audio in the presentation. It can produce in MP4 for download on YouTube, however.

Presenter itself was not released a video, I'm sure you're aware. The set of files so converting a video is no easy task. Captivate can be the path the easiest because you can import or recreate the content of your PPT there and then re - import audio and video in Captivate. Then, there is an option in the tool for the MP4 output. If this can be a huge pain for this project, consider using Captivate from the start for future projects if the output of a video file is your end goal.
