  I tried to ask HP, the manufacturer of the computer, what version it came with. The first person that I spoke to said that it is version 6. Later, I noticed that Wikipedia (the page of Microsoft Works) seems to hint that he was either version 7, 8 or 8.5. I tried to ask another worker of HP, who said that they do not have this information. Amazon sells several versions and version 8 is the first that indicates whether for an XP platform.

  None of the operating systems of Microsoft such as Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 have an Office Suite or Microsoft Works.   I have a project I'm train for work and it was written in Access. I have no problem to open it at work. If I try to open it on my laptop, I get "error in kc_Decrypt (2): 5 - invalid procedure call or argument". When you open the file on the computer portable mt, the security warning will appear warning me that the file may contain code to you harm the computer, then when I click ok to open the file, because I know what it is and that it is safe to open, I get the error in kc_Decrypt (2): 5 - invalid procedure call or argument. If I press OK 47 times the error disappears and the file opens. Once it opens, when I try to use one of the functions of the database, the same error comes back upward. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

  Thank you for posting.  It seems to me that what you really want is a slightly streaming on Vista Basic.  Since you said that you want to remove things like the Media Center, which leads me to believe that you have Home Premium or Ultimate.

  It is a representation of the GUI of the start-up procedure, as it is ongoing.  It is influenced by how much is started and what boot parameters you use.  The number of iterations is influenced by the above, but I don't know how much each iteration represents (and could not find any information on it).

  To check, go to start / search and type msconfig.exe, and then double-click the icon that appears.  Go to the Boot tab.

  No Gui boot will remove the bar and expedite a second or three, but it is usually not a good idea because then you don't know if the boot process is frozen.

  Start log will create a log of the start-up procedure that can help you better understand what is happening - but create it will slow down the overall boot time.

  OS boot information displays what actually happens during the boot process you can see what is happening and have an idea as to why it takes as long as it takes (but again, this will slow down the overall boot time.

  Unless you really know what you are doing, I would recommend Advanced Startup Options changes. If you want to try something, here's a tutorial on the adjustment of the number of processors that can help, can do nothing or can even slow things down:

  I have Microsoft Picture It! publishing on my old computer and I loved it.  It was easy to use and I could do so many creative things about it.  When I got a new computer (my husband bought me the HP Media Center, I think that's what it was) I tried the photo more recent editing program that came with it, but do not like it so I loaded Picture It! on this computer.  It was not totally compatible, but I never got it to work... sometimes.  Now I have a new PC and it is not compatible at all.

  I have yet to find a software photo editing with the possibility of making flyers, invitations, etc. with the ease of use I got with photo!  I used a version of PhotoSuite years that I liked, but then they went and 'improved' that too.
  What is a good and simple to use the software for the home edition that would be comparable to Microsoft Picture It! Publishing House?

  Anyway, here are a few "adjustments" that some claim gets IP running on W7 (I did not try) including things like trying to install W98 compatibility modeand then run in W98 compatibility and perhaps also as administrator mode. Good reading, it can be useful.

  It depends on what you want to do, but there are tools free Photo who can do some or all of your requirements, things like Paint.net, Picasa or GIMP (and I don't know there are others) but I don't know how compatible they are with EPS files.

  As always, AV scan all download before installing.
