What is an adapter series LPS

Can someone tell me what an adapter series LPS?

I got a new Macbook 2016 this week. In Network preferences, I have options for:

  • WLAN
  • Bluetooth PAN
  • Adapter series LPS (2)

Is this normal? When I select the LPS, OS X shows me the modem config worksheet.

Edit:

"LPS" refers to the low-power subsystem of Intel adapter.

Here is some information about this.

  • Is that what the AC adapter compatible 40Y7663 for Advanced Minidock 42W4630?

    Hello!

I bought a 42W4630 Advanced Minidock used (P/N 42W4631, FRU P/N 42W4630, Type 2504) for my Thinkpad T400 (6474 Type) but there is no 90-W adapter with it. Due to the http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T400-advanced-mini-dock-250410U-POWER-ADAPT... I also ordered a 90W AC adapter 40Y7663.

But I don't know if the ACadapter is compatible with the docking station. I have not found a suitable compatibility list.

You have an idea if the power adapter is compatible for my docking station? What would happen in the worst case?

This adapter works because it's the type of adapter supplied with the advanced mini dock.

  • HP 50 g - PC connection series with adapter Series USB and null modem troubleshooting

I have the calculator correctly connected to my laptop via a USB series adapter, which is plugged into a null-modem adapter, which is plugged into the serial cable sold on HP Calc.org specifically for the HP 50 g. I started XModem on the calculator, but Conn4x found nothing. Is the process different from that used for USB and Conn4x connections? The problem could be with the USB Serial Driver. I use the default MicroSoft driver installed to connect? Are there tests I can run to determine if the adapter is broken, or the computer or calculator. Thank you very much in advance for your help!

    I already tried the following:

    • The two indicators relevant system are correct for the serial communication
    • Tried to reinstall the driver
    • Google for any relevant information that is extremely rare
    • Tried with two Xmodem Kermit servers running on the calculator, press 'Connect' on Conn4X.

    Hi!, Ranothil:

If you have the following cable "null modem" (http://commerce.hpcalc.org/serialcable.php), you can transfer, all

data, HP50G, to the PC and vice versa, throughout the connection Kit (Conn4x), without issue.

Please, see this link, to education, to transfer data with the serial null modem and connectivity kit cable... http://sense.NET/~Egan/SKB/ or... http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/CGIwrap/hpmuseum/archv017.cgi?read=125259

Note: best if you transfer data, HP50G, PC and vice versa, through the microUSB.

  • WPS54G with USB adapter series

    Hi all

I wonder if anyone has had any experience of the present.

I have a pretty old thermal printer that I want to make it available on our network with the WPS54G. The printer has a connection series and I tried a couple of USB adapters plugged into the serial print server, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to detect that nothing is connected (green USB not clear on the face front of the server).

A native USB printer works fine via the print server, and I know that the cards are solid, I can print to the printer via the cards under Windows.

However, Windows detects the card first and install a driver for it when you plug it in and I assume that it is this step that I won't be able to replicate on the print server and so it can't communicate with the printer at all.

Someone has it conquered or I'm on a losing battle?

Any help would be appreciated so thank you in advance if anyone can help!

    Kind regards

    Rich

If this card is connected PC for your priner, I think you also have to install a driver on PC for this card. The adapter converts the signal set to USB, the driver converts the signal from USB to serial. But for the WPS54G this is impossible, so that is why your way does not work.

Regarding the series server, you also have to install the driver on your computer.

Once connected, you will think of it like your printer is connected to your computer. If you have other computers, you can install the driver in them as well. Then they can also use this printer, but not at the same time.

  • EliteBook8540w: upgrade HDD on an EliteBook8540w - what HARD drive adapt?

Hello fellow users of HP laptop

I own an EliteBook 8540w and wonder what HARD drive I can use to upgrade this box.

Here are the detailed specifications of the box.

Processor type: Mobile Quad Core Intel Core i7-740QM, 2100 MHz (16 x 131)

Card mother name: Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 8540w

Motherboard Chipset: Intel Ibex Peak - M QM57, Intel Clarksfield

    System memory: 8119 MB (DDR3 - 1333 DDR3 SDRAM)

    DIMM1: Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9 4 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (9-9-9-24 @ 666 MHz) (8-8-8-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz) (5-5-5-14 @ 380 MHz)

    DIMM2: Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9 4 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (9-9-9-24 @ 666 MHz) (8-8-8-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz) (5-5-5-14 @ 380 MHz)

Video card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800 M (1 GB)

    HARD drive:

The HARD drive I have now is this.

I assumed that the height of the HARD drive is key here, so not so many restrictions on the HARD drive, is that OK? I could get an SSD as well as long as the height is very well, just?

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards

    W9Y

Yes, absolutely. Stick with 2.5 inches wide, 9.5 or 7 mm thickness SATA hdd or SSD. 7 mms are leaner, but the mounting holes are in the same place and the SATA data connector and the power supply is in the same place. You cannot use a 9.5 where only a 7mm is used as on Ultrabooks ultraslim, but a 7mm will replace a 9.5 mm. 7mm fits into the caddy and connectors will still work the drive but does not fill the carriage upwards. Yours is a chunky fellow that originally had a 9.5 mm drive. Sometimes you see disks of 2.5 inches wide from 12mm for blades and those who are not fit.

If it's in the budget, get an SSD. I'm kinda an envangelist SSD, but you will be too once you have used a.
