WPS54G with USB adapter series

Hi all

I wonder if anyone has had any experience of the present.

I have a pretty old thermal printer that I want to make it available on our network with the WPS54G. The printer has a connection series and I tried a couple of USB adapters plugged into the serial print server, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to detect that nothing is connected (green USB not clear on the face front of the server).

A native USB printer works fine via the print server, and I know that the cards are solid, I can print to the printer via the cards under Windows.

However, Windows detects the card first and install a driver for it when you plug it in and I assume that it is this step that I won't be able to replicate on the print server and so it can't communicate with the printer at all.

Someone has it conquered or I'm on a losing battle?

Any help would be appreciated so thank you in advance if anyone can help!

Kind regards

Rich

If this card is connected PC for your priner, I think you also have to install a driver on PC for this card. The adapter converts the signal set to USB, the driver converts the signal from USB to serial. But for the WPS54G this is impossible, so that is why your way does not work.

Regarding the series server, you also have to install the driver on your computer.

Once connected, you will think of it like your printer is connected to your computer. If you have other computers, you can install the driver in them as well. Then they can also use this printer, but not at the same time.

  • Problem by acknowledging an instrument in series with a USB adapter in NIMax

    Hi Forum,

I have an instrument designed to be controlled via a signal with a RS232 cable series and I try to get NIMax to recognize and send test orders.  My laptop (running Windows 7 Enterprise) has no serial port so I use a USB adapter to connect.  When I could not initially the device appears, I searched online and find suggestions that I should install the NI-VISA driver.  I downloaded and installed, but it does not help - to open VISA test panels is greyed out and it indicates that the unit is 'away' even when it is plugged.  When I open the control panel interactive of VISA directly, the device appears as a question mark, and if I double click top, it says the following:

    Error opening resource:
    ASRL10::INSTR

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0011) insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system.

Any thoughts on how I can get my PC to communicate with the device?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't know that I needed to install a driver for this.  Do you know if a general device like this driver will work.

You need to install some drivers Windows are necessary for your USB-serial adapter (should have with the adapter).  Once Windows detects the serial port will be MAX.

    Hello

To do any hardware with Windows, you must install the drivers from the manufacturer for this particular material.

HP tips for the installation of the printer etc., is to install the software drivers first, and then connect the printer.

But the Support drivers HP for your series machine seems to stop to XP:

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.page/public/PSI/swdHome?sp4ts.Oid=12651&AC.admitted=1402034171539.876444892.199480143

Have you tried to install the XP drivers to see what happens?

My old iphone 6s is completely broken, it does not or registry that it is connected when plugged into a computer. I'm able to recover photos from the SIM card with an adapter USB SIM card or through any other way? I also do not save anything with AllAccess, icloud, or through my computer as you would with a digital camera.

The photos are not stored on the sims, sorry.

You can always try the Recovery Mode, little to lose at this point. If it doesn't, I suggest taking it to an Apple Store for testing.

    Recovery mode:

    Turn off your iOS device.

Plug charge cable to the computer only (not to the device yet).

    Open iTunes on your computer.

Hold the button to power on your device and do not let go.

Plug the cable into the device while keeping the power button.

Wait for the computer to detect the device and wait that he eat.

Restore as New first, then restore sauvegardΘ if you wish.

The iPad does not support USB keys. There are some wireless flash drives that can be used, but not the classical records. I suggest you transfer files to a computer and their synchronization then back to the iPad via iTunes.

  • T420s + Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with USB 3.0 90W - USB 3.0 works as USB 2.0

    Greetings!

I'm probably not the first person who cares, but I did not find the same topic in the forum.

I have T420s Lenovo ThinkPad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with USB 3.0 plugged 90W. The problem, I USB 3.0 port on the dock (blue) work in USB 2.0. The port of the laptop works very well. I check it by plugging Seagate drive HARD mobile - when the HARD drive is plugged into the port blue station dock Windows (7, 64-bit) complains "device can run faster", using the port laptop does not trigger the message.

    USB 3.0 is installed.

    BIOS version is 1.37.

    Drivers Intel Chipset are updated.

Device Manager displays the connection as a chain of two "Generic USB Hub, if the HARD drive is connected to the laptop port its chain of" Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 blah - blah ".»

Help, please! If this combination is not supported, please point to the corresponding link.

    Thank you!

USB 3.0 port on the dock is not supported on the T420s, it is supported only on T430s and later versions.

  • X 220 and Mini Series 3 with USB 3.0

    Hello

I am recently received a Mini Series 3 with USB 3.0 for my laptop company ThinkPad X 220 Windows 7 64 bit.

However, after installation of the USB 3.0 driver downloaded from the Lenovo Web site, I still do not see USB 3.0 in my Device Manager device.

I have also some test using an USB3.0 external HDD but the USB 3.0 port seems to have exactly the same speed as all the other ports.

How can I activate USB3.0 on this Docking Station?

    Thank you

    Jeremy

ThinkPad X 220 with i7 (i3 and i5 has usb 2.0 ports only) has a single USB 3.0 port, but the way it is connected through the motherboard, it is unable to support port additional usb 3.0 from the dock.

first of all, let me tell you bear with me, I'm not very tech savvy

Previously on my desktop computer with windows xp operating system, I have a usb adapter that plugs into the back that captures internet of my modem in the basement. recently, I was forced to reformat my computer and lost all my settings and the installation for the card files. After calling at & t to support, I was directed to http://broadband.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21282/kw/installation/session/L3RpbWUvMTMxMDE0OTI3MS9zaWQvbTJSQ2J1eWs%3D where I was instructed to download files to install my adapter (because I don't have the original installation disc for it). This is where I am stuck. the files are in format ".sys" and therefore cannot be executed. What should I do at this point?

I recently got a laptop HD malfunction cause me to start my PC from 2004. I bought a Belkin N150 Wireless USB adapter to connect to the internet connectivity. I plugged it in my desktop PC and it just doesn't work! I double checked the drivers, reboot the cable modem, so that appropriate services were activated and still no dice. I have read forums and I'm almost at the point of paying MS for technical support services, but it's really just my last step before I shell out money for professional help. Notice to lovers? =)

    Hello

Well, at this point, you should make an executive decision.

If you think that someone will take just guilt because it's comfortable, it is not going to happen.

If a new card that is known to work does not work, then you can try to re - install Windows.

One of the differences between computer enthusiasts and regular users is the availability of the material. I have a set of wireless router, network cards, etc. that are known to be good.

The components are used for the sole purpose of trying them temporarily on the troubled computers to rule out hardware problems.

  • Can not install a hotspot with my Vista USB adapter

Hello. I have a USB adapter with point characteristic access (hotspot), but he can never access the internet after a profile has been created. I can get a very good wireless networks, I can't set one up but it does not recognize some windows strange reason. I tried to define the characteristics of hand, ad hoc and anything else you can do in this situation. I don't think it is my material, I think that there is a setting on Vista that I didn't set to complete this. The conduit adapter wireless device inside the PC, without the device to him that installed the PC wireless network adapter will not work. I want to set up hotspot so that I can get a stronger signal for my tablet, a signal of network installation will crash my PC to the Tablet, but there is no internet connection, just recognition of profile and a display of signal strength. Any recommendations?

    * Update * since I tried to continue to an access point or hotspot on my computer, having succeeded in a few attempts, it is clear to see to connect and create a network that is identified but doesn't get it of the internet, my problem isn't with my computer, but the remote database, I am setting up the network on i.e. I can create the network, but it is not autonomous, I to "piggyback" with an open hotspot regularly, other times my device don't pick-up networks without logging in at all.

Internal and external drives are the types of advanced Format.  The drive is: HGST HTS541010A9E680. I see the 4 areas of native k when the disk is connecetd via a USB adapter?  So far, my older USB/SATA Adapter shows the areas 4096 bytes, not he emulated disk 512 byte sectors.

    Hi @teranz

    Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately the adapters can be hit or miss, not always reliable. You could talk to the manufacturer of the adapter for advice.

Regarding booting from a USB key, it looks like you want to install the OS on a USB device. It is possible with some advanced configuration, but it is out of the reach of these forums. You may find help by searching for «portable Windows installation»
