  • Tags for accessibility - what to do with the Table of contents & more

    I'm looking for assistance and advice concerning the marking of a PDF document for accessibility using Acrobat 9 Pro.

    So far, the most I've ever done with Acrobat's create the occasional straight-text document and a few simple forms.  But my boss asked me to score a manual of programming for accessibility and I'm a little lost.  There are a lot of both the images and the code examples in this text that I have no idea how work with because auto-tagging is seems to be haywire.

    I downloaded the Acrobat 9 Pro accessibility repair Workflow document and have done the following:

    1. Determined that my document is not a scanned document.
    2. Determined that there are no forms or the buttons in this document.
    3. Set the language to English.
    4. Set security for document "no security".
    5. Determined that the document contains bookmarks.
    6. Determined that the document is not a document labeled.
    7. Run the accessibility full check.

    This is where I ran into problems - both because of the nature of the document and my own ignorance of the process 'make accessible '.

    My table of contents is divided into several areas indicated in the form of tables, but the individual elements of the array are improperly identified - I have no idea how to do to make them appear correctly.  Advice would be appreciated.  Suitable for the Table of contents even being a table?  I know it's called a table, but it has several levels and I'm not sure what to do with it.

    There are also several tables in the document.  They appear especially OK, but Acrobat seems to think tables are made up of individual and figures produced "No alternative text for Figure" errors on some of them.

    I mean, how the hell can I make text flow on code?  The code is all text, not images.

    If someone knows something about this whole thing accessibility I would greatly appreciate your comments.

    Thank you!

    Jenn

    Assuming that the original manual is the WORD, it is probably best to simply go back to WORD and PDF Maker allows you to create the PDF file. Which will add bookmarks and other tags which will provide accessibility. Probably all that is needed. It is much easier to create your own tags. Of course, I guess you use style sheets in the original and this marking would be. If you have not used the style sheets in the original, you probably have a lot of work in front of you.

  • [db housekeep] what is better with partition tables or not?

    Hi man s/n... I'm still a beginner on this junior dba currently career. I would like to ask you for your expertise.
    My question is if there is a table with the number of records which varies from 15 million a month, what is the best way to implement the household?

    Currently, the table is not partitioned. Wouldn't be better if the table that is needed to be housekeep be recreated as a table with partitions?
    What are the advantages and disadvantages?

    Thanks a lot :)

    Edited by: user992972 Oct 6, 2010 18:29

    The best way is to ignore it. 15 M record is not even worth thinking about.

    Now ask me about 150 M record? Same answer.

    Household is the result of written business rule requirements or dealing with issues of specific settings which can be demonstrated by showing identifiable problems. If you spend a minute if worry lines sitting idly in a table, not worrying about anyone, you wasted a minute.

    As for whether a table should be partitioned requires to understand how it is used. What is happening? What is out? The WHERE clause. If the size of partition would make a difference.

    The partitioning option costs money and well worth it if it provides value. It provides no value just because it exists.

    Are you a junior DBA if please go to this link and believes, as I do, one of the most valuable lessons, you can learn to be a DBA.

  • What to do when a table name is a reserved word?

    I know that the best answer is not to use a reserved word to name a table. But I have no control over it in this situation. I read that all Caps and citations will allow you to use the table name in the queries, i.e. 'CATEGORY' is supposed to make the table to use. But that is certainly not to work, nor any variation of this setting in the form.

    Anyone know how to format a reserved word to allow queries?

    Thank you

    Hello

    user8998591 wrote:
    Yes, it works, but if I want to refer to a column in this table (i.e. WHERE to EDIT. F_ID = 4) quotes do not work.

    They work for me.
    Post your code; It is difficult to tell what you're doing wrong without knowing what you are doing.

    Massimo Ruocchio wrote:

    BTW CATEGORY is not a reserved word:

    No, 'CATEGORY' is not a reserved word, but it is a key word:

    SELECT    keyword

    WHERE       keyword     LIKE 'CAT%'
    ORDER BY  keyword;

    KEYWORD

    CATEGORY

    so there may be situations where it should be in double quotes. It is best not to use any keyword for your own tables or columns.

  • in what version of oracle alter table move tablespace introduce

    Hello

    Can you please provide me with information to present including oracle realease oracle alter table move tablespace nom_tablespace; ...

    Thank you

    Actully had this... that first of all we create a table using DEC and then delete the old table and then re-create the table with the original name, this way we'll finally have table > with the same name and data.

    But he has disadvantanges that
    (1) there is no index, we recreate.
    (2) no constraint, we need to redefine tht.

    Please confirm to me... I am right or wrong here...

    Thanks a lot for your answers anantha all the... It's my last request... Please respond

    To avoid TELL-benefits mentioned above,

    -Export the table or the diagram.
    (create two discharges of export.
    1. with the owner or table with index = n lines = n - This will export all the objects without indexes, and lines. In other words, the metadata will be exported with regard to a table or schema.
    2. with the owner, or a table with index = lines y = y - this will export all the objects from a table or schema.

    -Remove the table
    -Recreate the Table (using export generated from option 1 above)
    -Import the data without indexes and constraints are imported. (use of export generated from option 2 mentioned above. use ignore = y,)
    constraints and indexes = n = n here.)
    -Import(re-Create) indexes and enable constraints (using export produced option 2 rows = n ignore = y)

  • How to give an input value to operate what split of DOD proc table?

    Hi all

    Here's the function (function str2tbl)
    used to split the string table (for example: "1,2,3,4") in a single string.
    This function uses the array of strings (which should be split) as an input (like 'p_str IN varchar2') parameter.
    I would like to divide the array of strings that I'm generating by a procedure called 'proc1 '.
    In this procedure, the array of result of channels are stroed in a parameter called "my_str" (like my_str: = "1,2,3,4").
    How could I use the values in this function?
    I could mention as "proc1.my_str" as an input to this function?

    Another question, once my function returns the values as
    Column1
    -----------
    1
    2
    3
    4

    How do I pass this value to .NET?

    create or replace  function str2tbl
     (
     p_str in varchar2,
     p_delim in varchar2 default ','
     )
     return str2tblType
     as
         l_str long default p_str || p_delim;
         l_n   number;
         l_data str2tblType := str2tblType();
         begin
              loop
              l_n := instr( l_str, p_delim );
              exit when (nvl(l_n,0) = 0);
              l_data.extend;
              l_data(l_data.count) := ltrim(rtrim(substr(l_str,1,l_n-1)));
              l_str := substr( l_str, l_n+1 );
              end loop;
              return l_data;
     end;
    Thanks in advance

    Could not get into too much detail. Have no database here.

    loop of the table referring to the procedure.

    Declare
    type str is table of varchar2(4000) index by binary_integer;
    my_str str;
    arr_str is table of str2tblType%type index by binary_integer;
    begin
    my_str := proc_used();
    for i in my_str.first..my_str.last loop
    arr_str(i):=str2tbl(my_str);
    end loop;
    exception block here ......
    end;

    OK let me explain.

    you have this array of strings coming out of the procedure that will my_str.

    Then see the for loop. We are looping through this channel and passing the values to the function.

    the data type arr_str is array of arrays.
    We put the berries coming out of the service in arr_str.

    so.
    arr_str (1) will have a table that is the result of function set (my_str (1));
    arr_str (2) will have a table that is the result of function set (my_str (2));

    If you need to pass these berries to .NET you loop through arr_str as we did for my_string and pass an array at a time.

    Kind regards

    G.

  • How to capture information on what program is inserting/updating of the data in the table?

    Hello

    I'm working on an application where we have an ABC chart that has a STATUS column. This column is updated from somewhere.

    However, we are unable to determine where this COLUMN is updated. I checked the DBA_SOURCE table to see if this table is updated from any oracle proc / function. But isn't.

    Is there anyway that I can identify what program will update this table? I can create a before update trigger but I'm not sure if that I can capture program (shell script / informatica workflow) that is updated in this table.

    You can use in a trigger SYS_CONTEXT 'USERENV' information ' MODULE'

    create table mytable
    (
      col1   VARCHAR2(10)
    , col2   VARCHAR2(50)
    );

    create or replace trigger mytable_bi_trigger
    before insert
    on mytable
    for each row
    begin

        :new.col2 := SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','MODULE');

    end;
    /

    -- from Toad
    insert into mytable(col1) values('Test 1');
    commit;
    -- From sqlplus
    insert into mytable(col1) values('Test 2');
    commit;

    select * from mytable;

    ---------- --------------------------------------------------
    Test 1     TOAD 11.0.0.116
    Test 2     SQL*Plus

    You can also capture a lot more information (host name of the client, the os user, etc.).

  • What is 'Table of container' in materialized views

    Hello

    What is meant by ' Container Table ' in materialized views?

    "Materialized view" (MV) is, in fact, a table, rather than a view.

    The term MV is used of the 9i database. In the 7 and 8 databases is the term 'snapshot' (to make things more complicated, the MV concept appeared in the 8i database, but in the context of the data warehouse).

    When you create a MV, for example. using the:

    Create materialized view emp_mv

    full refresh on demand

    as select empno, ename from EMP

    /

    you have, in fact, have created two objects in the data dictionary:

    Select object_name, object_type

    from user_objects

    where object_name = 'EMP_MV. '

    order by 1, 2;

    OBJECT_NAME OBJECT_TYPE

    --------------------- -------------------

    MATERIALIZED VIEW EMP_MV

    EMP_MV TABLE

    You can remove MV and a table of container:

    drop materialized view emp_mv;

    or you can delete only MV, preserving a table containing:

    Let fall the materialized view emp_mv maintain the table;

  • Table of contents exporting does not correctly - what I am doing wrong?

    Hello

    I have 2 books of ID (CC) I exported to EPUB recomposable. The first one I created worked perfectly.  I created a nice table of contents who when they are imported into iBooks the iBooks TOC was just as it was in my table of contents in the document.  The 2nd book has the file names listed in the TOC iBooks rather than what is specified in the table of contents of the document.  I checked a number of settings and they seem to be the same on both books.

    As a bit of background, the books are almost the same except that they are in different languages.  I used the same template to create documents within each book.

    Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

    See you soon,.

    Hello

    If the table of contents style is not set in the original document style, toc file name is generated instead. You have configured by Style of table of contents in the Document Source Style of the book?

    Also, the same style must be selected in the Navigation drop down during the recomposable EPUB export.
