What is InCopy CC?

Hey I am a member of cloud. but I wonder what is incopy cc? I was told it's like indesign cc, which means its good for printing and the DPS.  so, how does it work?  I was wondering bec I have dreamweaver and muse. both are the same design of web sites. InCopy is part of indesign?

I ask beak I am trying to self teach me all applications. so, when I return to school and take a computer graphics or mix media creation as a certificate. Then, I'll be good.  This will help me with the skills of low design that I have when I was a photo student.

I just got my diploma of photography this past may, 2013. but his photography and I've only taken a few classes, just basic, illustrator, dreamweaver, basic edition Pro Périer.

I took indesign and didn't do well.

I thought incopy is indesign part as a simple edit.

Hi Bford225,

InCopy is not new and has been here for some time.

With InCopy® CC, writers, editors, and designers can simultaneously work on a single document without overwriting the contributions of each and other.

InDesign and Incopy work together to provide the solution for writers, editors and designers to work on different parts of the same document at the same time that help increase productivity and reduce the overall time.

When the InCopy user opens him InDesign file or assignment - the preferred/normal workflow - all paragraph styles are included. Then they scroll the document to find your text block empty and then check it out for editing. All styles are always at their disposal.

Looks like you have IC users open linked InCopy stories (BCTI files) directly. It is possible to do, but as you have seen, a side effect is that then they get only the styles used in this story. (Along w / many other disadvantages.) Since there is no text in the history, there is no recorded her styles.

  • Changes after the Incopy fonts spacing content update

I'm having a problem trying to understand what is happening with my spacing of the font for a text box that has been allocated and updated by one of our editors.

I don't know what version of incopy there is probably don't not CC. I use Indesign CC Build 11.2.0.99.

The amendment to its update should not change anything, except a paragraph near the end of the text box, but for some reason, all the text is changing. The text is formatted in the way that I want to first capture screen, then after update of much tighter sound and flows differently. Monitoring, kerning and all text attributes seem to be exactly the same. So miss me something somewhere, or there may be a compatibility issue if it has an older version. I'm not sure. Any ideas?

    Screen Shot 2016-01-27 at 9.57.53 AM.png

The second paragraph breaks completely false after update. Nothing is changed in this paragraph by the Publisher.

It is essential to know which version is used, and to ensure that all policies are the same.

  • InCopy (Windows) + InDesign (Mac) cross-platform coworking

    Hello everyone.

We have designers working on Mac and the editors working on the Windows laptops in our society. Both platforms have CS6 InCopy and InDesign installed and fonts are fixed for both platforms work in both directions. But colleagues always complain of errors what incopy gives when editor trying to do anything with the .indd file open. Which means that the file opens OK, you see, but as soon as you try to add a note or edit the text it gives and error. Sorry, I had to blur the full path, but the idea is on the screenshot:

The file people work with lies on the public server, someone has access to these files, is not the permissions problem.

Does anyone have an idea if it is possible to work with comfort using different operating systems?

Note: the same actions flow works perfectly when using the combination of Mac to Mac.

Hello JohanThege , your server is Mac or PC?

Our server was MAC, but we had a lot of problems. We now have a PC. If your PC is also wary of file names.

If resolve anything, try to work with InCopy package, but in this case, the file is locked in .indd.

    Hug!

  • InDesign/InCopy package created by CCP asking (disabled) application CC

We create the installation packages for the new version of the Creative Cloud 2015, for use by our staff and teachers of higher education. We have the appropriate volume license an ETLA, I think. Creative cloud Packer (CCP) allows us to produce Mac OS X installation packages, we then distribute using a software, like JAMF Casper management solution. We are building a package for each application (Photoshop.pkg, FlashPro.pkg, PremierePro.pkg, etc.), and three "bundles", roughly resembling the beams CS6 - Master Collection.pkg, Design and Web Premium.pkg and Premium.pkg of Production. When you create the package, we disable the creative Cloud application and use of Adobe Update Manager to manage updates. We use the RemoteUpdateManager behind the scenes to update the software. AdobeID created by our teachers and staff is not associated with our volume license, so the creative Cloud application is of little use, since (to the best of my knowledge, at least) requires a subscription to creative cloud in order to run.

With the new version, Mac OS X package we build that contains InDesign or InCopy 2015 and installed on a Mac OS X 10.10.x system (I'll test on 10.9.x tonight and tomorrow) will display the following error message message:

    CreativeCloudMissing.png

"Adobe Creative Cloud is necessary to solve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the creative cloud of 'http://www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp'. »

The package has been rebuilt from scratch in CCP to ensure that the creative cloud application has been disabled. When this new package has been installed, the system rebooted, and each started application, the application always invited the creative cloud application installation information. The guest would not display if InDesign or InCopy is left and is started again during the same connection session. However, the first time or the other application is started after the restart, invites her missing Adobe Creative Cloud is redisplayed. Other applications start normally without displaying the command prompt.

No other package that we have built for versions of Creative Cloud 2015 exhibits this behavior.

Packages created for 2014 and original creative cloud versions do not have this behavior.

Please notify. Is this a bug in InDesign and InCopy applications?

    Hi all

Just to make the point on this issue.

We have identified the problem with the team produced and looked at the fastest way to solve for customers. We decided that we will do an another rev of the CCP that will incorporate a fix for the problem. The new version of the CCP will be activated Monday 29. What I would say, is to wait until the new version of the CCP will live on Monday. Once you have updated to simply re-create the package and install. The question should no longer be visible. Simply start and restart to ensure.

Yet once again thank you all so much for your patience and help diagnose the problem. We review it internally and will try and ensure that this does not happen again.

The article will also be updated shortly.

    See you soon

  • InCopy "trial" expired

In the Cloud Creative app, it is said that the trial of InCopy CC (2014) has been exceeded. When I click on the 'Buy it now' blue link, it takes me to https://creative.adobe.com/plans. I'm already on CC and nothing else has expired. What is happening with InCopy? I tried to uninstall and reinstall. I tried signing out and signing in.

    Thank you, Sheena Kaul,.

Although I have had the problem for several days and tried a lot of things, it is immediately resolved once the creative cloud application, automatically updated itself. (This was after I posted the problem).

The solution on the page you sent has been disable, restart and license or update a CS6 product. Because I recently moved to a new Mac, I do not have the legacy versions of Adobe software. It was 2014 InCopy that was causing the problem. Maybe it's time to update the page of solution for situations like mine where the Creative Suite 6 is not involved?

Again, I do thank you for answering!

  • Work with InDesign and InCopy

I'm a copyeditor work remotely with a designer on a small magazine. I receive and edit copy in Word format, then send the link edited to the designer, always in Word format. It is using InDesign CS5. The problem is that when he sends me proof in pdf format and I make final corrections the pdf, I don't always get the result I was expecting: sometimes he lacks corrections or enters their wrong.

In order to give me more control over the text, we consider becomes InDesign CC for me, so that I can send properly formatted copy. I know that I could create an exit in InDesign CC that he could use in CS5.

I hadn't known about before InCopy, but obviously, it would be the ideal solution. Looking at other issues, I believe that it does not need to use InCopy CC out in InDesign CS5. Assuming that I can't convince the boss to get InDesign CC for the designer and InCopy CC for me, what is my best alternative?

Is InCopy only a subset of InDesign? Can I use as easily as InCopy, without taking into account the aspect of InDesign layout? Or InCopy is a far superior product for a publisher who do not conceive? Any ideas would be very appreciated.

    Peter

InCopy would be the best solution for you. InCopy is the little brother of InDesign, but both must be in the same version to work together flawlessly.

InCopy is a lot cheaper and easier than InDesign as it is lack of capacity of layout, but the two of you need to understand both applications.

As a general rule, if 2 people work on the same document, they should have the same versions between 2 InDesigns or InDesign and InCopy, any workflow that requires IDML should be avoided.

Why are there so many corrections in your current workflow? If you do your Word Document correctly and put in place with the styles without any manual format overrides, no hyphenation, no continuous return several it should reduce the number of corrections in the first place.

  • InCopy is the addition of arbitrary space

Something strange that happens when I open Word files in InCopy: doc the first time, the first thing what InCopy does is add a space at the beginning of the document, where the default cursor. If I let the open doc and go to another application and then back to InCopy, another space is added. This happens whenever I have quit and return. Even if I move the cursor elsewhere, a space will be added everywhere where the cursor is located. A related oddity is when I select all the copy and replace it with a single font. After the change is made, InCopy removes the selected copy! Of course, I can cancel it, but it's a clumsy workflow process to be sure.

I used InCopy each day last week, with no problems to speak of. When I started using it this morning, the chaos began. The only facility last week has been an update to OS X 10.9.5. Has anyone else had this problem since last update Mavericks of last week?

I use InCopy CC 2014 on a 27-inch iMac (end 2013) with 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB of RAM.

    Thanks for reading.

In fact, I think I found the solution. A day or two ago I was using the function dictated in OS X. A moment ago I disabled dictated in system preferences, then revived InCopy. The problem now seems to have been cured. No more odd spaces being added and nothing being deleted against my will.

  • What is this dialog "you must enter a user name...". »

    Screen Shot 2014-08-15 at 3.22.23 PM.png

Open a huge file Indesign CS3 (?) with lots of links, made by someone who does more with the company, and I met this dialog box.

Everything seems to behave reasonably well if I have to cancel.

Any ideas what it is? Can I ever make it back?

    Probably an InCopy assignment.

  • Help! My number of County/selection of words disappeared from the bottom of my InCopy window.

Don't know what happened. I had an accident and then when I brought InCopy upward, the word count feature had disappeared. I need to my word count back! I use it a lot. Any help will be much appreciated.
