What is MyPhotobook and can I safely uninstall it?

Hello

I did a search for this program and from what I can see, it allows you to make a real book of your favorite books, as I do not wish to do this is it safe to uninstall it to free up more space on my hard drive for programs I want? Don't want to uninstall it if by chance it is connected to something that is necessary but can find very little information on exactly what it is and how it is if it is linked to other programs.

Can someone help me?

Debbie

If you don't need it you can delete it from the system. I did the same thing. There no negative influence in other applications pre-installed.

  • Can I safely uninstall all programs below

On my list "Add or remove" in Control Panel, I have the following list of programs:

    Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

    Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix

    Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2

    Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 SP2

    Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1

Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile

    Microsoft .NET Framework 4 extended

My problem is as follows; All of these programs seem to me (not a computer guru) is very redundant and I would like to know, safely remove any of them?

With most applications, version 2 would represent an update of version 1 and version 1 would be is no longer necessary.  This is not the case with the .NET Framework.  An application that was written for 1.1 will always use 1.1.  Therefore, any of these are only safe to take if none of your applications must use this version.  Since you don't usually have no idea as to the applications using the frameworks (I have not), the safest bet is to leave them on your computer.

  • I get this fatal error: could not connect to gemini: connection refused, what this means and can it be fixed.

Windows Mail is where I get the message

We have reported this problem to Ryan Johnsen, GoDaddy support supervisor, for more than three weeks. Apparently, the GoDaddy servers reject attempts to connect to Outlook. It is a known issue and GoDaddy does not seem to be able to correct this problem.

Mr. Johnsen gave repeated assurances that they are "working on the problem", but there has been no improvement over the 3 week period that we reported it.

The problem is intermittent but frequent (usually from 5 to 25 incidents a day) can and has caused the loss of data as well as accidents of Outlook. IMAP errors can also trigger sound alarms that are difficult to disable. Initially, Mr. Johnsen told us that this type of problem was 'normal '. When pressed, he admitted that it was a known bug and that they are working on this topic. We were told also that Godaddy was able to trace the problem in the server logs because it was reported on the client side. It seems that logging an attempted connection failed but Mr Johnsen claims that it is not.

We do not know any similar problem with other IMAP e-mail providers and will probably have to migrate our email to accounts other provider since Godaddy has not been able to deal with success.

In summary, our experience indicates that there are serious support and technical problems that are running Outlook 2010 clients against Godaddy IMAP e-mail premium accounts. The problems are recognized by Godaddy and apparently also occurs with other e-mail clients Microsoft as shown here and elsewhere.

Windows XP - as well as all kinds of extras (office suites, image/photo editing studios of top design, apps movie/music, applications, etc.) will be between 4.5 GB and 25 GB of hard drive of diving.  Normal House Windows XP system will likely fall in the lower part of the beach.

The size of a hard drive don't you have (total), and how much is free?  Your hard drive is partitioned into several parts?  If so - what is the partition 'C '?

Since it's XP... Here is a good set of things you could do to your system...

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner. Delete everything is found.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know usingGoogle (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

    CCleaner (free!)
    http://www.CCleaner.com/
(just the disk cleanup - do not play with the part of the registry for the moment)

    JDiskReport
    http://www.jgoodies.com/freeware/JDiskReport/

Those who can help you discover visually where all space is used. Then, you can determine what to do.

-Then you'll need to check for physical errors and fix everything for efficient access:

    CHKDSK
How to scan your disks for errors* will take time and a reboot.

    Defragment
How to defragment your hard drives* will take time

Now that you have free space and organized things on that drive...

Can get new drivers for your card motherboard chipset, the video/graphics device and device network (among others).  Just to complete things.
