What is the actual free space on my drive?

It shows that my apps take 139,73 GB of storage. However, he also says that the size of my disk is 499,06 GB and free space is 460,58 GB, how is that possible?

Remove the data cable of all drives except the drive that you want to install Windows 7 on.

    Remove all external devices.

Delete all partitions on the disk leave all of the disc as "unallocated".

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD and then install, when you reach the point where it asks you to select a drive, click the "Advanced" option and create a new partition (at least 50 GB) to install Windows and continue with the installation process.

    Hi Lawren,

Thank you for your update on the issue.

In this case, you may need to format the entire disk, clean the partitions and reinstall new windows as suggested before. However, I suggest you to contact local support for the backup of your data from hard disk partitions.

  • What is the best color space for workflow photo where the goal is marketing and selling prints?

What is the best color space for workflow photo where the goal is marketing and selling prints?

The really important thing here is not work in the color space. The important thing is that you set up your calibration targets so they correspond to the document that you are printing on. This means that the white monitor should be a Visual match white paper and black monitor a match to the density of the ink max for the paper.

But to answer the question - assuming that you print on an inkjet printer, Adobe RGB should cover most of what the printer can reproduce on a glossy paper of good quality. If you have or get a range wide screen you will also be able to see the range of the file to the screen and you can then test your profile to print with confidence that "what you see is what you get".

Some will say that good inkjet reproduce some colors that are in fact outside the Adobe RGB, and so you have to work in ProPhoto. While technically true, this superior to Adobe RGB color range is very small and very limited and IMO a fairly minor concern.

  • What is the actual size of a varray (empty) in a folder?

What is the actual size occupied by a varray (empty) in a folder?
By example, if I create my table defined as:
create or replace type XXX as object)
    ...
    myRefs VARRAY (10) ref (yyy)
    ...
    )
    create table xxx YYY;
What is the actual size of the type XXX record when 'myRefs' is empty? For some reason, select data_length in the all_tab_cols where table_name = YYY always seems to come back 3K the length of the column myrefs... is that correct? Otherwise, what is the correct size?

    End a tad...

The sizes of storage of the REF attributes are described here:

[Design Considerations for REFs - size of storage of the REFs | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e11822/adobjdes.htm#i452226]

The size of your REF attribute (or element, in your case) will depend on whether it is a primary key or generated by the system if it is extended or not, and it carries with it a hint of rowid-based. The overall size of your VARRAY attribute as it grows also will depend on whether you allow nulls to REF or not, but essentially will be the size of your time REF multiplied the number of items in your VARRAY (plus a small amount of storage for internal cleaning, both for the attribute for each constant element).

You can try the VSIZE function as an appromixation...

  • Free space on hard drive shown incorrectly

My drive C (SW_Preload) has about 200 GB of space. When I click on 'Computer' in windows Explorer, it says that the total free space is 20 GB of used space 180 GB IE. However, when I select all folders and files on my C drive and select properties it shows the total size on disk is only 70 GB. I don't have this with the other readers (Lenovo and SERVICEV003).

Does anyone know why this is so? My basket is empty and runnign short space when I know that there is still plenty of space on the drive (the laptop is only 3 months and I copied only 1-2 records this to that).

    Hello Hitchkee,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft answers forums for Windows Vista. I hope you do well.

To reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and help your computer run faster, you can use disk cleanup. It removes temporary files, empty the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of file system and other items that you no longer need. Follow the link below for more details:

    http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/1264bc24-72a8-48AA-84e3-a355327139d91033.mspx

There are a number of issues that contribute to the difference:

Hidden and system files -Windows Explorer display above was using the default settings that do not display the files marked as 'hidden' or 'system', and therefore, they are not included in the calculation. Change this setting increases the "size on disk" by about 7 gigabytes that all the hidden files on my machine have been included in the calculation. In particular, which included the system pagefile and hibernation, which are large file and marked as hidden.

To change the settings, you can follow the steps below:

    Start Windows Explorer, and then:
    Click on the Tools menu
Click the folder menu item Options...
    Click the view tab
In the advanced settings list, scroll down until you see the hidden files and folders and Hide protected operating system files.
Make sure that the hidden files and folders is selected. I also uncheck Hide operating system files - for the same reason protected: I don't want to hide it from me, the Windows files.

Directories - directories, or lists and indexes of files on your machine are not the files themselves, but they don't take place.

The Table of Allocation of file or the master file Table - FAT itself, Hall of Fame of FAT file system, is actually pretty low. The MFT, however, used in NTFS file systems is also stored on the disk but not visible as a file. It defines where the used and free space on a drive is actually. Depending on the size of your drive, your files and the size of the allocation unit, the MFT can be quite large.

The log file - this is a file, but even once, you won't see it. It's NTFS internal data.

    Hope this information is useful.

    Kind regards

    Savan - Microsoft technical support.

  • Create more free space in C drive

Can I delete ~DF2831.tmp and similar files in the user/user/AppData/Local/Temp folder to create more free space in C drive?

Rather than doing these cleanups manually, I suggest to you that use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool. Please see:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Delete-files-using-Disk-Cleanup .

Make sure that your backups are up to date before proceeding as a precaution.

  • Free space on hard drive for HP PROBOOK 450 G0 - H0U95EA

    Hello

I'm looking for a laptopo HP, I would like to know the free space on hard drive for HP PROBOOK 450 G0 - H0U95EA.

In the datasheet there are 750GB but in a boutique internet... I found that free space is that of 320 GB, is it good?

    Thank you!

    Marco

More new software installs would more or less 60 gigs and a 750 GB drive reads as on 690 concerts in Windows Explorer. There will be a recovery partition and system partition that could take up to another 20 GB or more. Free space out of the box is still more than 575 casual jobs. That will decrease as games for Windows restore points.

  • Free space of hard drive in the MacBook air changes seemingly at random

In recent days, my hard drive went a few GB of free space, zero KB. I check with clean my mac and see, first that my free space of RAM with the passage of time is reduced up to 10 mg and space free hard drive then start reduced up to zero KB and after 20 sec RAM & hard return to normal space (increased).

    What is the problem?

You seem to be two distinct topics: storage and RAM. It is normal that all RAM to use. Please read the section of memory to use the activity monitor to your Mac - Apple Support.

Never use a 'cleansing' of utilities for any purpose. Uninstall "CleanMyMac.

    difference between freespace and unused

    Hello jilosaul,

Because I didn't exactly know how to state the differenc, look at the link of WikiAnswers:http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_unallocated_and_free_space_in_Windows_Vista
Unallocated space is a space not partitioned on a disc. According to the number of partitions on the disk, you can create a primary or extended partition with unallocated space.

Free space is available in an extended partition space. This can be used to create a local drive in the extended partition.

  • cannot defragment the disk D: due the low free space

Hello.  I'm trying to defragment my D: drive, but it won't let me because only 12% free space is available and I need 15%.  I tried to uninstall unused programs and deleting old files etc... but still I can't to 15%.  Can anyone advise me on what to do, please? A little frustrated with her right now...

Now we know for sure. Paul was right. It is the recovery partition. Please leave it as it is.

It should never be defragmented because it can lose its functionality easily.
