Try to install e-printer on a netbook... don't get a message on the spooler service.  What is the spooler service?

    Hi Pat,

Spooler service manages print jobs by saving in a queue and submit them to the printer in order specified instead of sending them directly (which can cause the printer back up if too is sent at a time depending on how printing is setup and the printer works).

Try the simple fix to see if it works.  Go to start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services and place you on print spooler and double-click it.  Click the Dependencies tab, go to all the services listed there and confirm that they are automatic and started.  If this is not the case, change it to automatic, and then restart them.  Once finished, return to the print spooler and set it to automatic and start it.  Click OK and close out Services and control panel and restart.  When you come back, come back to Services and check that the print spooler again told automatic and started.  If this isn't the case, after back and let's check other things.  If so, proceed to the installation of the printer, and this particular problem should no longer be a problem.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

Can someone tell me where to get the information to find out what that all abbreviations in 'Source' in the case where the viewer are
    Thank you to everyone.

Here's a good place to troubleshoot things found on Windows Services:

    http://www.blackviper.com/

You are looking for, if you use for example 32-bit XP SP3 and then click on the link:

Windows XP x 86 (32-bit) Service Pack 3 Service Configurations

You will see all the names of Services XP and much more information on them and you can go down even more to find more information about each individual Service, if he should be executed or not, can you do without it, etc..

If you run XP Indexing Service, it is probably slow your system down a bit and I will disable it usually, but we don't know anything about your system or what your question is or if you are simply curious.

If you need to share your events or ask questions about them, here's what I used to say:

To view the logs in Event Viewer, click Start, settings, Control Panel, administrative tools, event viewer.

A shortcut to the event viewer is to click on start, run and enter in the box:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc

Click OK to launch the event viewer.

The most interesting newspapers are usually the system and Application logs.

Some newspapers such as security and Internet Explorer may be completely empty or have just a few items.  The default settings for XP wants do not connect all this activity, unless you need to solve a problem in these areas.  If you enable logging for them the papers fill up quickly and could adversely affect the performance of your system with all the extras (often unnecessary) activity.

If you have Microsoft Office installed, it has its own newspapers, and they can be empty or occasional boring activity very little or, if there is no problem with your desktop applications.  It's normal.

Not every event is a problem, some are informational messages that things work very well, and some are warnings.

However, no event should defy reasonable explanation.

Each event is sorted by Date and time.  Errors will be red Xs, warnings will have yellow! s.

Informational messages have white is.  Not every error or warning event means that there is a serious question.

Some are excusable at boot time when Windows starts.  Try to find only the events to the date and time around your problem.

If you double-click on an event, it will open a window of properties with more information.  On the right are black up and down arrow keys to scroll through the open events. The third button that looks like two overlapping pages is used to copy the details of the event in your Windows Clipboard.

When you find an interesting event that occurred at the time of your question, click on the third button at the top and arrows to copy the details and then you can paste the details (right click, paste or CTRL-V) the text in detail here for analysis.  Remove all personal information from your information after you paste If you are forced to do so.

If you paste an event, it will look something like this annoying system startup event:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Service Control Manager
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 7035
    Date: 14/07/2010
    Time: 17:54:18
    User: Jose
    Computer: computer

    Description:
The Remote Access Connection Manager service was sent successfully a starting control.

To get a fresh start on any log of the event viewer, you can choose to clear the log (the log backup is available), and then reproduce your problem, then just look at the events around your show and troubleshoot events that are happening when you have your question.

  • What is the SPORTS service

I get a message on my observer of events as follows:

"The SPORTS service failed to start due to the following error:

The system cannot find the specified file. "I followed the link to the event log online help, andfollowed instructions. The error code 7000 links with % 2, which seems to be a file not found problem. However, as it does not say which file is not found, then is not very useful.

Question: Anyone knows what is the SPORTS service, because I can't find any reference on the web, and none in technet or on this forum.
Additionally - it is important that these errors are happening, or should I just ignore them?

I have no answer, but found this. It seems that it is thanks to your Samsung printer. Therefore, it seems that you are on the right track.

'Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesSSPORT after installing a printer driver Samsung on something else than Windows XP. It is certainly the Samsung driver installation program that adds this registry key. All my Samsung printers work fine even if the service cannot always start, and delete the registry key gets rid the failures of notification of start boring service. »

Hope that helps you a bit.

  • What is the difference between levels 1 to 4 of the performance monitoring? What is the default level?

What is the difference between levels 1 to 4 of the performance monitoring? What is the default level?

Collection and levels of collection intervals are two things that are used to monitor and collect statistics of performance for entities.

Research in detail what intervals of Collection and collection levels mean:

Collection intervals determine the duration for which the statistics are gathered. VirtualCenter currently has four intervals of collection: day, week, month and year.

Every interval between two collections has a default collection level that determines how the counters are used when collecting statistics. Default collection-level is set to 1 (because the minimum number of counters). This level is configurable and can be set from 1 to 4.

For more details on the intervals of the collection and the collection level (with respect to the measurements taken at each level), please see the "Collecting statistics" section, page 281 base System Administration Guide.

    http://www.VMware.com/PDF/vi3_35/esx_3/R35/vi3_35_25_admin_guide.PDF

Hope that the information above will clarify your doubts regarding the level of default collection and what they mean.

  • What is the need for level 0 and level 1 backup?

I am a bit confused about the need for level 0 and level 1 backup. Oracle has proposed strategy in 10g creates only level 1 backup continues to not to break and not to create any level of 0 after the first backup of level 0. But I had seen in the document Oracle Database Backup & Recovery basis he suggests to create backup of level 0 on weekly or monthly basis. There?

Secondly according to my understanding when creating oracle backup of level 1 first creates a level 0 backup that contain also copies of data image files and then apply an incremental copies of the image, once the incremental backup is applied on the copy of the image you don't have to the previous incremental backups. Am I wrong?
If I'm right, what is the difference between level 0 & backup of level 1? and after the level 0 backup you must also all previous backups.

PL. help me to clarify my questions in this regard.

    Kind regards

    Vassallo

What is the most reliable in terms of recovery?

I do not see the differences in terms of recovery, the two strategies are reliable.

There is an advantage in terms of recovery time expected, Oracle says:

    /*
Incorporate gradually update the backup in your backup strategy shortens the time of recovery as provided. The reason is that media recovery right now or at some point in the recent past may begin at the time of the last backup of level 1 applied, rather than at the time of the last full database backup.
    */

In a regular incremental backup strategy you always go back to a level 0 backup and then to apply everything follows level 1 backups + archivelogs. But - for an incremental backup set to day - it's a little tricky to emerging a window of recovery, normally relies on redundancy 1, i.e. that a backup is retained, you cannot go back, this type of backup is designed for a quick and complete recovery.

But there is a solution (I don't think there is place in EM), even if you're on 10g, see the 11 g documentation, he explains fuller:

  • Service requests service level agreements

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone had thoughts or experiences to share for the best way to manage the contracts of service level for Service requests. I was asked to provide a report showing that Service account (by area/topic) responded within the time con times.

For example, applications of new business cards are supposed to be resolved in 3 days and it took 4 days so mark this request as having not met arranged deadlines.

I don't know where is the best place to store the dayes of level of Service by region? Is this just in the logic of the report? Appreciate any ideas on that.

    Thank you

The correct syntax for the IIf function is

    IIf (testExpr, expr1, expr2)

If testExpr is TRUE, returns the value of expr1; Otherwise, returns the value of expr2.

    Try withI
    If ([] = "Allowances", "2", "0")

  • What is the MpKsl3a8cfeb9 service?

Two days in a row, next update of MSE, I get a serious system for 5-10 minutes slow. Check that the event viewer displays some service is sent a startup message. Yesterday, it was MpKslfa61ad92, now, it was MpKsl3a8cfeb9. What are these services? Research revealed nothing. I do not see these abuse running, so I don't know what they're doing, except that I know that they are making an impact on the operation of my computer, and they are directly related to the MSE update.

This is a newly modified feature of MSE designed to thwart malware by regularly changing the name of the updated signature file.  See this MSE thread for more information:

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

    -

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

    -

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To do that click on start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

    `

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and make it regular periodic updates.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Z10 what are the PIM Services?

When I go into settings > App Manager > device monitor there is something 'PIM Services' that consumes a lot of battery every day. How the judgment?

PIM for Personal Information Manager (management), is responsible for managing the accounts on your phone.

I would not recommend removing it, but if it takes a long time to treatment, then it is because you have recently updated or a particular account is causing problems.

If it is still in the same way in the next few days, try narrowing that counts, it is and remove it if possible.
