• Whenever I start my computer, I get the blue screen of death. I'm not getting in what concerns the opening of session and there is no prompt to start in safe mode. Whenever I start my computer the error code and message on blue screen are different.

  I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I was on the internet when my computer screen turned blue and a message told me that a problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down. He said that I had tried to do something with memory executable not executable (I don't have a note of the code). He said as he poured out memory. Now, whenever I start, the blue screen of death gives me different messages and different error codes. Today, he says:

  2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

  Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

  Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

  A lot of hot air was spent over the years about the advantages of XHTML over HTML and Strict on transitional provisions - and Yes, I hold up my hands as one of the culprits.

  About 10 years, the W3C decided that HTML was too sloppy like markup of web pages. HTML 4.01 was rewritten to comply with the more stringent standards imposed by XML. What is XHTML 1.0. This is exactly the same as HTML 4.01, apart from a handful of rules, such as:

  • tags must be properly nested
  • all opening tags must have a closing tag, or use / > shorthand
  • all attributes must be in quotes
  • all attributes must have a value, then verified becomes checked = "checked".
  • all tag names must be in lowercase

  If you know the HTML 4.01, you can switch to XHTML 1.0 without difficulty.

  At the same time, the W3C decided to depreciate a lot of tags and attributes. Disagree with simply means that they are intended for the removal of a future version of the language, so should be avoided. It's the difference between transitional and Strict provisions. In transition, you are allowed to continue using deprecated tags and attributes. As long as your code is valid, it is very little, if any, difference that you are using. Aim for Strict is probably a good idea, however, because the obsolete tags and attributes are characteristics that it is now recommended that you use CSS for. So, if your knowledge of CSS is good, you can probably go to a Strict DOCTYPE tomorrow. If it is not so good, you probably have the transitional DOCTYPE. But again, that is if your code is valid the most.

  Grand design of the W3C to move the web to the XHTML format struck a massive brick wall when everyone realized that the draft of XHTML 2.0 is not backward compatible with HTML 4.01 or XHTML 1.0. The W3C said greatly this version 4.01 has been the end of the line for HTML, but it is now eaten its words, and work is well advanced on HTML5. The good news is that if HTML5 becomes the markup for the general public, it is designed to be backward compatible with HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.0, although all the attributes and obsolete tags are gone.

  With respect to the XML, it is a very simple language to learn. It's basically just a structured way of presenting data. One of its most common uses is to FLOW RSS. The advantage of XML is that any database, the information is stored in, it is presented in a text format which is a universal standard. If you are working with data-driven sites, you must learn the XML.

  I wanted to show traditional Chinese web pages with Chinese characters
  (for example, hk.yahoo.com).

  I walked into the tab Control Panel / regional and language options/languages
  and choose "install files for East Asian languages".   He asked for the XP CD,

  I have done work similar to what I described.

  I deselected "install files for East Asian languages" as I mentioned above,.
  removed startup items which appeared in msconfig (you can see the 4 in the JPG I posted)
  and restarted.  What this does in fact, I'm not sure.
  Is it uninstalled or disabled just something, I'm not the wisest.
  (For example, the fonts themselves)

  I open IE8 and went to a page where the Chinese characters should be displayed.
  Instead of characters, the text appeared as small squares. But after playing with
  view/encoding, it began to appear normally.  What ever he did, he also worked for Firefox.
