    Hello

Cisco internal VPN Service Module is a Cisco ISR G2.

I would say that the main goal is the ability to offload the encryption to a dedicated service module. Dedicated encryption protects performance when CPU utilization for other services.

  • What is VPN works with broad public IP address?

    Hello

If I use the public broad IP (for example 100.100.x.x) for my business network, and I intend to use VPN to connect to my remote desktop. Which will display a problem? Will it be any impact?

My concern is that I could send Cliaa IP addresses of the internet that could cause a conflict. Can anyone clear my doubts about this.

    Thank you!!!

    Hello

If you are going to do a VPN Lan to Lan (site-to-site) tunnel n/b, your remote and your office, it won't cause any problems if you have (routable) addresses to public IP configured on your home LAN to your office, because by default the IPSec Tunnel mode is used when configuring LAN LAN tunnels, tunnel mode adds an extra header routable This header has the IP source and destination based on your local and remote IKE peer IP addresses instead of your IPs inside, your interior IPs remain hidden within the header of the tunnel, no matter what they contain IP addresses.

    If its possible without impact.

  • WRVS4400N VPN Passthrough issues

I had a WRVS4400N router for 8-9 months. When it is connected to a remote VPN, the PC will go down intermittently to connect to the remote VPN server. Anything running on the connection, such as distance or vSphere client or network file browsing, office will be temporarily unusable, then the connection is re-established. Usually one drop lasts several seconds and varies in frequency.

    A few notes:

-I can reproduce the problem with more than one PC.

-Both wired and wireless connections are affected.

-If I use an old Linksys WRT router or connect directly to the internet modem, I don't see the problem.

-J' have tried disabling UPnP, firewall and IPS without success.

I tried using wireshark, but can't identify something specific. The traffic seems to just stop for 5-10 seconds before resuming.

    Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

    Mr Champion,

Have you tried just the quickvpn client and the view if your always get disconnected?

If it is stable and pull-out decision still does not work, maybe try to download a fresh firmware of cisco.com, then reflash the router with firmware then reset factory of the router and manually reconfigure your settings and see if your seeing the same issue.

I would like to know how it works.

  • Cisco ASA 5505 VPN passthrough

    Hello

@home i'f installed a Cisco asa 5505 because the provider has the modem cable in transparent mode. So I have the public IP address to my firewall.

Also for the training because we have in the work of the asa. So I have no feeling with her.

but sometimes I have to build a VPN session to a server at work. But I do not get a connection to the server. If I remove the ASA 5505, then the connection to the server of work is great. But if to ASA 5505 is back in its place. It does not log VPN to the outside world.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

It is possible to create a connection out to the Cisco ASA5505 VPN.

    Thanks in advance

    Greetings

    Palermo

    Hi Palermo,

You do not have to mention the type of VPN connection, you use.

If the PPTP protocol then you need to inspect the traffic for the SAA allow again from 'outside '. Try the following:

     ! class-map inspection_default match default-inspection-traffic ! policy-map global_policy class inspection_default inspect pptp ! service-policy global_policy global !

    see you soon,

    Hello

With the correct IOS feature set, it will support IPsec VPN clients. This includes not only the Cisco VPN client but almost any standard IPsec client.

In addition, if on the 2811 can accept any browser SSL VPN connections, or even use the AnyConnect SSL client.

    It will be useful.

  • Tips to add a VPN router to my current network configuration

    Dear all

My apologies if the answer to this question already exists, however, I searched in many situations and none seem to match what I'm after.

I currently have an ISP modem/router in Bridge mode connected to a TC of Apple which is my wireless router, I have 2 Express airport connected to this acting as the extensors of the range.  I have a VPN service through the MyPrivate network I activate on the desired device when required and everything works fine.

What I want to do now is to be able to use my AppleTV and burning Amazon via the VPN as well so you need to add a VPN router in the configuration.  I want to finish with 2 wireless networks running together for these devices who need VPN and those who are not.  I don't want to lose the opportunity to extend the network to express it however airport.

If someone could explain to me if this is possible and if so how do I set up the network.

    Thanks in advance

    Mark

Basically you would need a device that supports VPN-passthrough and VLANS for your goals of networking. MyPrivate network, seems to be a VPN SSL, which is a user-server configuration. In other words, you install a client VPN on your Mac and you connect to the VPN network MyPrivate server to establish a VPN tunnel.

Networking two or more "separated", should be using a router that supports VLAN services. Each segment of VIRTUAL local area network, in essence, would be a separate, she either wired or wireless network or a combination of both. This would probably be the 'easiest' part for the installation program.

Now how combining the two would be the question, and I don't know what would be the best way, or even if it is possible.

    A few thoughts:

    • Use a router that supports VLANS. Create at least two VIRTUAL LAN segments. One for Apple TV & Burns, one for Internet access in general. Connect the device to VPN client host on the first segment, and configure for Internet sharing.
    • Download a dedicated VPN network application that supports hosting of third-party VPN clients, like yours. You would still need a router that supports VLAN to provided separate network segments.
    • Hire a consultant network. Let them know what you the goals of networking and ask them to offer potential solutions.

    • My internal home network use the IP range 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.200
    • All necessary ports are transmitted in both my router and firewall of the Mac
    • L2TP VPN Passthrough is enabled in my router
    • I installed for my Sophos antivirus, but I do not think that interferes with anything
    • I have the IP address range for the VPN to use as 192.168.2.100 - 192.168.2.105 (because this should be different that my network internal, right?)

  • IPSec VPN via UDP fails on WRT610N

    Hello

Using a Cisco VPN, user can connect, but after have connected you to all stops internet connectivity.
    IPsec uses UDP (NAT/PAT).
Anyway to turn it on? The router VPN Passthroughs are all enabled, I even turned on the UDP multicast filter...
    Nowhere else in configure anything?
The VPN profile works on the old WRT54G and a SMC router so I guess that's the WRT610N which has a problem?
    Thank you!

It should not make any difference for the connection if the relay is activated or not. The connection goes through the port UDP ISAKMP 450 that should always work. Disabling the VPN passthrough block ESP IP protocol that is used for data transfer. Your VPN client must then automatically encapsulation UDP Port 4500, which should work fine.

If the connection does not work once you turn off the pull-out decision, I'd say it's a bug. That should never happen. Check the logs in the client to see what happens, maybe, that there was a suspicion.

  • Cannot open an L2TP VPN tunnel behind a router 806.

    This is the scenario:

    My ISP provider provides pppoE.

When I connect a PC directly to the ADSL modem, I can open my L2TP VPN and VPN works fine and I am able to navigate.

When I connect the PC behind 806, I get a private pool in 806 IP and I am able to navigate, but PC, I open my VPN L2TP software utility (same as before) and cannot open the VPN.

Could you please tell me what config I shoul put in router to open the tunnel of 806 instead of op VPN software utility? The difference is that now 806 global IP gets rather od PC.

So I know now tunnel should be open from the router, but I Don t know what I have lines shlould Add.

    Help, please!

I thinkl you want is VPN passthrough, the answer to that is the version of the IOS, I think IOS version 12.2 and allows VPN Passthru especially. There is no other configuration required just to 12.2 or above

  • RV180w - Firmware update - VPN unfit to work

    Hi all

I'm starting this topic for may a response that I face a problem with VPN and most likely with the PORTS.

My firmware is 1.0.0.30 and I update it 1.0.1.9.

When I try to connect with my VPN, I am unable to reach with error 800. MS wrote that your firmware is too old, so you get this error.

At the same time for VNC and other stafs was necessary for open ports. So far, it seems that the router does not open ports.

What should I do? Retrun to the old firmware? Any change extremely new firmware so they add more optios for ports?

All the configuration is exactly the same as it was before the upgrade.

For more details let me know.

    Thank you.

  • 3500 x vpn tunnel

I need to establish a vpn connection between my office and a computer over the internet, allowing access to the internal of the outside lan. I have a problem with my router and I am looking for a new.

Can I use x 3500 to establish a pptp vpn tunnel or it can work only as vpn passthrough?

This modem/router supports VPN passthrough for IPSec, PPTP and L2TP only. Try VPN Linksys Gigabit routers like the series of the LRT.

  • Impossible to establish a VPN between AG241 and WAG54GP2 tunnel

    Hello

This is my first post on this forum and I send my best regards to everyone!

I signed up because I have a problem with establishing a VPN tunnel between an AG241 modem/router and a modem/router WAG54GP2 with wireless and VoIP.

The scenario is simple: both ends have dynamic IP, so I set up an account with dyndns.org for both routers.

    WAG54GP2 has 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 AG241 has 192.168.3.254/255.255.255.0 IP and IP.

In both routers, I turned block anonymous internet requests, so I can ping both routers.

This is the configuration of WAG54GP2:
