  I can't open Word Documents or PowerPoint presentations when I download them through the internet or if they are already on my computer.  The only way I can open them is by clicking on 'Open' in the tab file on one of these programs.  If I just try to double-click a file on my computer, rather than the button 'open' on Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, the following error message appears: "the operating system is not allowed to execute this program."

  Check which program is currently set as the default for Word and Powerpoint

  Start-> Control Panel-> default programs-> associate a file or Protocol with a program type

  Scroll down to the 1st one (.doc) and check what he said, which should be "Microsoft Office Word".

  You try to open the image in paint and check if you can print images of wise page.

  To print the image in MS Paint, steps to follow:

  i. Click Start, in the search box, type in the paint

  II. open the document to print

  III. click on print and check.

  If you are able to print selected pages in the painting and cannot print from Windows Live Photo Gallery, it would be better suited in the Gallery of Photo for Windows Live community.   I just installed El Capitan on my iMac 927-INCHES, mid YEAR 2011).  Files Word (.docx) made previously will not be open.  They report the error:

  If I open a file empty and save it as a .docx, it opens fine.   There seems to be an incompatibility with Word 2011 14.5.9 (151119) with El Capitan and the files saved on Yosemite.

  Powerpoint and Excel files seem to work correctly.

  Any suggestions, other than return to Yosemite?

  If you want to convert Word files to PDF with the Adobe Reader application then it is possible with the service Pack of PDF. Try to use the service on the web: https://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf

  I have a MacBook Pro, retina 13inch OS X el Capitan Version 10.11.1 with 16 GB of memory. It's brand new and I have recently installed Microsoft Word/Powerpoint etc. a disc that I bought a few years to my previous MacBook. It seems to work very well, but whenever I want to open a word document a message comes up saying "Word could not create the work file. Check the amount of disk space on your startup disk '. However, once I click 'OK' this message disappears and my word file opens without a problem. I have 16 GB of memory on this laptop and it's new I have not reached anywhere near the maximum amount of storage so I'm puzzled as to what this message means. How can I avoid that this message popping up everytime I open Microsoft Word? Any help would be appreciated!

  This has nothing to do with memory - it's the SSD. Word tries to create a temporary file to use as a backup if the program crashes while you are working. First, run the Microsoft Update program to see if there are updates you have missed. Second, Microsoft currently supports only versions 2011 and 2016, so if yours is older, you should consider the upgrade. Thirdly, I suspect that the temporary file is not get created so that you have fewer cancellations (maybe any) and that if the program crashes you have to restore.

  I've seen that happen before when opening a program via a shortcut (for example. LNK file), you are asked what type of program to open it with.   The problem is that now all shortcuts (for example. LNK files) on the desktop or in the browser will want to be opened by Word. This is known as a file association. .   This has happened enough that a small utility was written to cancel the. LNK file association was created. There is a registry hack to do this, but I recommend the utility unLNK for its ease of use.

  Your Verizon Pre Plus runs a mobile operating system called webOS HP/Palm.  The current version is the 1.4.5.  The phone can connect to a Microsoft Exchange Enterprise Server.  When this happens, it uses a timing called "Exchange Active Sync" technology, but your phone does not have the operating system Windows Mobile or Windows Phone.

  Synchronization of Microsoft Office and PDF documents from sort of an adventure the Pre debuted more than 18 months ago.

  DataViz, the application of the notice of Doc officials, was partially acquired by RIM, the fact of BlackBerry and decided to not release a full version of Documents To Go for webOS devices.  Palm in collaboration with manufacturers of QuickOffice to provide the full support of the office for webOS documents in the future.

  For now, if you put Office and PDF documents in the area of storage USB of your pre, see Doc or PDF is to find them and allow you to view them on your Pre.  I put all my documents in a folder simply called 'Documents '.

  If you connect the charging/sync cable for your pre and then attach to your Mac or Windows PC, you will have a choice to activate the USB Drive mode.  When you do, you will be able to work with your pre as you would with a standard USB.  Eject the meadow of your desktop PC when you have finished and you should be ready.
