    Hello

I agree with Feliks. Satellite 1900 is an oldie and so it can t be upgraded with an internal wireless card LAN.

Therefore buy a PCMCIA card with WLAN function or a WLAN USB key. On my old laptop I use a stick of the AVM and it works properly. :)

  • Battery with my Satellite 1900 101 problem

    Hello
I bought this laptop in April 2002. Often in July 2004 for laptop stopped charging after approx. 10 minutes of charge. I had to remove the charger from the outlet, wait for ca 20 minutes and try again. Now, charging time is very short and the battery is flat after 15 minutes. APM in the book seems to be OK.
I have to buy the new battery!
But I'm afraid that there is something wrong with software to load in 1900-101.
New battery is expensive and I don't want to waste the time.
I use occasionally for laptop. Is it normal that the battery should be replaced after 2.5 years?
    Can help you.

    Hello

It is not possible to say exactly what is the life expectancy of the battery. In your case, it is also possible that there are some problems with the electronic load.

How long you can work with the laptop using the battery? I put t understand what you mean with the load of time is very short?

  • Satellite 1900-101 - How to adjust the display?

I have a type of laptop Toshiba 1900-101 and have been very satisfied since I bought it 3 years ago.
One thing I fear is, that I could 'break' the socket plastic of the screen, since I have to use force to open / close.

Could someone tell me how to adjust the display in order to move much smoother, which screws I need to loosen, whatever...

    Thanks for your help

    Hello Jens

Unfortunately, there is nothing to see. The construction of screen carrier doesn't leave something like that. As far as I know the carrier is molded plastic. I'm sorry.

    Hi mate,

If you need drivers, then click on [HERE | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp] and choose "Archive" instead of the laptop. In the 'archives', you will find drivers for your computer type.

  • Upgrade CPU satellite 1900 101

    Hi people!
I have a few questions on my laptop. I know that is a bit old, but I have to stick with it: P

OK, my intention is to update its card as much as possible. First, I changed the hard drive for a 40 GB one (just for me).
I want to upgrade the memory, now, I have 512 MB and 1 GB is even. In the said laptop graphic card it can be improved only to 768 MB, but read the Intel 845 chipset flyer, I think that the problem is the hardness to the internal memory stick, under the keyboard. But I opened and with a knife and patience reached to access the module. Is therefore possible to change my 256 MB sodimm modules for two 512 MB and have no problem to detect? My bios is ready for them?

And the difficult, on the processor. I know you always say that updates in laptops are not well seen, because the bios and the overheating problem... so is possible to change my 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 [SL5VH | http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL5VH] for a 2.6 Ghz P4 processor [SL6PP | http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL6PP], or similar and well detected it by BIOS?

If I test it on my mobo, is sure to turn on the laptop to see if the speed is the right? Have any risk of rupture of the mobo?
    Thank you.

    Hi mate,

I think the biggest problem with this history of upgrade is that maybe the components inside your machine as the chipset are capable on the flyer to do even more, but the manufacturer of the system (in this case Toshiba) laptop made a few limitations that reduce some features or down to adapt to the needs of manufacturers so the system does not work just fine.

I guess that your system is not in warranty, so if something to do with your machine it doesn´t really of importance since if damage you something on your machine, you can be sure that it will come a new machine. :)

Regarding the memory modules, I think that you need to insert the stick of 512 MB on top of the motherboard because if the system supports no more than 768 MB you can stick on the bottom of the machine, a 256 MB stick.

And regarding the CPU: s is not possible as there are a truly BEST cooling system then now. I think that the module of cooling of the machine is not able to manage this powerful CPU. If you really install the CPU, you'll have a fan that will never stop.

    Welcome them

I'm looking to upgrade the amount of memory for this particular model. I've seen some good proposals for regular Sodimm pc133, but I'm not sure it'll work. This model requires a specific memory model just for her or for the series?

    Hello

You will need the SDRAM PC133 modules.
Buy the Toshiba recommended modules you on the right side.
I found these modules that are recommended by Toshiba.

    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)

  • Satellite S1900-101: how to open and replace the RAM?

    Hello
I own a Toshiba Satellite S1900-101 (PS190E - 006 X 8 - 1N). I love my laptop, but'd like it even more if it had more RAM! A friend of mine gave me the following:

    Samsung M366S1723DTS, 128 MB, sync, 133 MHz, CL3

    PC133 SDRAM 128M

    MT8LSDT1664AG SG 128 MB 100 MHz CL2 Synch

Can I use one of these in my Toshiba? If not, where should I expect?

And how do I open my phone to join my free slots? (Without worrying about if above Rams work or not.) "I'm just curious!)

    Hi guys

I found a page very useful on [memory for Toshiba Satellite 1900 101 | http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=5485&ft=m&st=3]

This page confirms the details and the information published by SambaDeAmigo
The laptop can be upgraded only to 768 MB because it has an internal memory of 256 MB, which is NOT removable. So only ONE slot is expandable.
This slots would support the SODIMM PC133 144 pins

  • Upgrade of RAM for Satellite 1900-603

I want to go to 1 GB of RAM IE extra 512 MB on my laptop P4 Satellite 1900-603, I checked the (additive) manual and it says ' onboard two 200 pins + 2.5V DDR SO-DIMM sockets supporting RAM DDR memory modules. Upgrade 1 GB by two max modules of 512 MB memory.

I couldn't find the part number on the Toshiba site, so I checked the website of Kingston, which gave me KTT3311/512 or KTT3614/512, I bought KTT3311/512 of this notice.

Unfortunately, when I come to install the part the second slot is smaller than the original square. That is to say fewer pins.

The RAM I bought is the part of the original square, but obviously does not fit in the spare slot.

Could someone tell me what the part number is for the smaller RAM and why this information is not available on the Web from Toshiba website or in the manual, including the additive.

    Hello

I ve downloaded the manual for Satellite 1900-603 PS192E series and he says the basic soecifications of the memory being used are:
    module SO-DIMM 144-pin
    SDRAM 3,3 volts
    PS-133 (PC - 100 is unusable)
Capacity of 128 MB, 256 MB, or 512 MB.

    But according to this page:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=6051&ft=m&St=3

the laptop must manage 200 pin PC2100 (266 MHz) DDR SODIMM memory hmm very strange?  :|

  • Satellite 1900-303-type of RAM can be installed?

    Hi guys,.

I want to know a news on my Satellite 1900-303.
What type of RAM can be installed?
I have a 266 mHz, but it is quite impossible to find now on the market at a good price.
so can I get a 333 mHz RAM, or my laptop it does not recognize in a good way?
Will it work? And how do I set the bus on the BIOS? (If I may...)

    Thank you
    Davide

    Hello

Satellite 1900-303 can be upgraded up to 1 GB of RAM.
This means that you can use 2 x 512 MB RAM max modules.
    The compatible RAM modules are:
    200-pin PC2100 (266 MHz) DDR SODIMM

I think you could use 333 Mhz too, but if the FSB is set to 266 Mhz and 333 mHz will run only at 266 Mhz.

  • Satellite A105-S1712 - what parts can be upgraded?

    Nice day

I have a Satellite A105-S1712 and trying to figure out what parts to this topic are extensible - other than the RAM and hard drive. I'm not afraid to take part, as I've done for a LCD problem.

Outside the possibility of upgrade of the laptop, I was also wondering if anyone out there has experienced a problem of overheating and loss of WiFi connection?

Thanks in advance to those who can offer advice.

  • Extension of RAM for Satellite 1900 704

    Hej all

I own a Satellite S1900-704 for years and I have a lot of luck with it with Debian Linux running.

Last week, I've assembled a 160 GB Hitachi HDD which works very well. Now, I want to increase the RAM.
The laptop is equipped with 2 pcs of 256 MB of RAM 512 total MB of course. I read that it is possible to set 2 pcs of 512 MB instead which would increase the total RAM of 1 GB. My question is: can I put in 2 pieces of 1 GB to 2 GB total? I can't find any confirmation for this...

    Thanks in advance!

    Boris

    > Can I put in 2 pieces of 1 GB 2 GB total.
No, to my knowledge, this is not possible.
The memory of the Satellite 1900 704 can evolve upward at 1024Mo max.
In this case, you can use the memory 2 x 512MB max modules!

The laptop won't work with 2 GB of memory: (unfortunately
