Upgrade of RAM on my Satellite 1900-803

My S1900-803 has 256 MB and 128 MB present. The manual says I can add 512 MB in the remaining slot. It specifies SODIMM 144 pin PC-133 3.3V, however I've analyzed the laptop using the CRUCIAL web site and this indicates that this memory is DDR and no SODIMM etc (results below): so who should I believe? and what type of memory should I buy

  • Satellite 1900-803: Hi-Speed USB 2.0 card does not work

I have a portable satellite 1900-803. I recently bought and installed a Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Notebook Card, but it does not work. Manual of the card says that after the successful installation, I'd see a second 'USB bus controllers' heading which I did not. I even it was replaced by another one thinking that there could be some problems with the drivers, but it still does not work. whenever I plug in a device such as an mp3 player, a digital camera or a usb storage device, windows locks all of a sudden upward, won't move the cursor, the function ctrl-alt-del does not work and the worst of it, I can't turn off the machine!

the map shows that it runs on any 32-bit location.

I have the manual and the Device Manager to see if mine is a 32-bit, but I don't really know. This is probably the reason why it doesn't work? or is there another reason to make it work not? If this is the reason why, is there a way where I can upgrade my laptop's pc card slot to make it work?

    Help, please.

I posted this question yesterday morning and did not get a single response. is it because it has to do with an older laptop? Please, someone, help...

    Hello

Have you checked the Bios? I guess that the Bios Toshiba was preinstalled on your laptop. Am I wrong? There should be an option to change the PC Card controller mode.

Here, you can change the mode of the automatic selection, CCIP compatible controller or card bus/16-bit.
If the card supports 32-bit so you should use the 16-bit option.

I think you should play a little with this option and possibly that the card will work.

  • Cannot find the BIOS for Satellite 1900-803

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba satalite s1900-303 (model number-ps192e-00g1n-en) and I'm not.
I have somehow locked myself out of the laptop. I used to haver a password to use the laptop. This password is not only for the bios, it is also necessary for the operation of the laptop.

Somehow the password has changed and that's why I can't use the laptop at all. I contacted toshiba store and theyu said to use a loopback serial cable to fix it somehow and he also mentioned in an attempt to crush the bios with a new.

I would like to try this, but I can't find the Bios or drivers. I was wondering if someone can help me solve this problem please.

PS: When regestering on the toshiba site I had to enter the serial number for the laptop.
The model under my name says 1900-803 when the sticker on the laptop clearly said 1900-803

    Hello

    > I have somehow locked myself on the laptop. I put a password for the laptop. This password is not only for the bios, it is also necessary for the operation of the laptop.

I think that you have set the BIOS password.
Unfortunately, the BIOS password can be removed from the laptop if you n t know the old password.
You can not remove also the BOS password by updating the BIOS. If you would try to update the BIOS while the password is set then the ROM module flashes not properly and you laptop will not boot! It s dangerous!

Only Toshiba authorised service provider can remove the BIOS password. Ask the technicians!

PS: You book is a model of Satellite 1900-803 and BIOS, drivers, tools, etc. can be found on the European driver Toshiba page in * file Archive!

Select * Archive Archive Satellite Satellite 19xx *.

  • Satellite 1900-803: how to install a USB 2.0 port?

How to install a USB Port of 2.00
    Where can I get a?
    Need for the new Ipod
Anyone out there it does or can help please?

    Hello

As far as I know Satellite 1900-803 supports Cardbus 32-bit/PC-Card 16 - Bit interface and you can use cards PCMCIA Type II (x 2) or Type III (1 x)
Before you buy the PCMCIA card to USB you should check if it's compatible with your laptop.
But I agree with Quad. The PCMCIA card is a good solution to use USB 2.0

  • Can external CD-ROM, I use it to restart my PC (Satellite 1900 803)

I have a Satellite 1900 803, my CD internal Rom cannot read the recovery disk, I think I have an external CD-ROM to use it for my recovery disk. Has anyone tried this before and I have to install a driver. My laptop has a USB port. Appreciate the advice and comments. Thank you

    Hi André,.

You will find that you will be unable to boot your laptop using a USB attached CD. I have yet to find a usb device which will start successfully.

I suggest you to check the recovery disc in another computer first to check if the problem is with the CD itself or your existing internal CD.

    Good luck

  • Satellite 1900-803 runs on battery only

My 1900-803 satellite only works on battery PWR. When AC pwr device connected, correct lights and AC power icon appears in the systray. But system turns off automatically when the battery goes down. Air conditioning unit seems to be ok and charge the battery as well as to show good indicators when connected to the led system.

The good people of suggestions? :)

    see you soon

    Hello Ally

In my opinion there must be some problem with electronic power which controls the supply. The strange thing is that the battery can discharge while the unit is connected to the power running.

In my opinion, you should also check power management settings. Is it possible that disable HDD is set to low balance time?

    Good bye

I think that information that you might find in the manual of Toshiba which must be preinstalled on the laptop.
On my laptop, I found manual and there is lots of useful information about my unit.
But as far as I know this laptop supports 32-bit/PC-Card 16-Bit interface Cardbus and PCMCIA Type II (x 2) or Type III (1 x)

  • Advice on which new battery for Satellite 1900-803

    Hi all

I am looking for a spare battery for my 1900-803 Satellite. The battery is PA3166U-1BRS, and when I get on a popular auction site I get a number of different opt, Li - ion:

    1:14, 8V
    Capacity: 6600mAh
    2: 14.80V
    Capacity: 6000mAh
    3: 14.80V
    Capacity: 5850mAh
    4:14, 8V
    Capacity: 4300mAh

So who is the most appropriate? As I understand it, they are all compatible. I suppose that more 'mAh' best, is that correct? Price is not a problem, just performance!

    Thank you all very much!

    Pablo

JohnnyS if you're out there you could make it three out of three for me!

The battery that provides a higher mAh value is much better, because the performance is stronger and you can run much longer Notepad using these batteries.

This is why I advise you to buy a battery that supports a capacity 6600mAh

  • Where to buy the upgrade of RAM for my Satellite M30-344?

    Hello

I want to upgrade my RAM from 512 MB to 2 GB memory. After reading in the nets, he would say the PC 2700 DDR SODIMM (33135 PA-2MIG) would correspond to my laptop. Anyone know where to buy it? could not find it on ebay and other suppliers of portable... Is it too old and trade off already?

    See you soon,.

    Kat

    Where to buy?

Hey buddy don't you hear something on the shops online, amazon, ebay, etc.  ;)

If you know what Rams are compatible, then simply google for some nice offers.

You can also buy it at a computer retailer in the city center

  • Upgrade of RAM for a Satellite A100-847

I want to upgrade the RAM for my A100-847 of my current 512 MB by adding another module for 512 MB, but I face a problem of compatibility because looking at the manual only compatible modules is as follows:
    256 MB: PA3389U - 1 M 25
    512 MB: PA3412U - 1 M 51
    1 GB: PA3411U-1M1G
I tried to look for a module with these codes, but I have found none in Romania. I could find a module of another manufacturer with the same specifications, but I don't know if these would work properly.
    So I need some advice.

    Thank you

    Bobby

    Hello

the manufacturer that you saw? Will they have the same characteristics, then they should go up. The best decision would be to take some kingston or the essential modules. They have been tested to work well with toshibas, just so consider buy some kingstons with the specifications of the original toshiba modules and have fun with them.

In the case of some other question just ask.

    Greetings

  • Get the best out of Satellite 1900-803 processor / upgrade possible?

    Hi all

Well, this forum has been great for me up to now, thanks JohnnyS!

I was wondering if there might be someone out there who can help me with the following problem:

When I right click on "My computer" (current running winXPpro) I can't see what follows.

    line 1 * Intel (r)
    line 2 * Pentium (r) 4 CPU 1.70 Ghz
    line 3 * 1.69 Ghz, 768 MB RAM

I guess that the two readings of the CPU speed indicates the maximum speed of the processor (* line 2 *) followed by the actual speed (* line 3 *). If this is the case, can I shake the extra 0.1 Ghz out of it, it is better to it and if the answer to each of these questions is 'yes' then how do I do it?

Secondly, if I wanted to update (/ replace with a slightly faster) processor would be possible?
So how high I can go and where I could get such a thing? Should I be careful?

A big thank you to you experts helping beginners all out.

    Pablo

    Hi friend

How you´re? Good hope, today I give you another clue (which, I hope, could perhaps help you... or not ;)))

Your CPU is already underway to * 1.70* Ghz but windows often displays with a few mhz more or less. If you want to know if your CPU is really clocked 1.70 Ghz then download 'CPU - Z', which is a good reliable tool measures on the CPU.

There should also be a tool that shows the frequency of the processor in real time and you'll see that the frequency of the processor performs constantly at 1.70 Ghz, it s more like a clock generator (which is a CPU) who will * autour * 1.70 Ghz.

Surely, you can try to upgrade, but here in this forum person won't give you instructions or advice. If you want to know what capabilities can check which chipset is installed, and with these specifications, you should be able to know what CPU probably would take it or not. Research a little bit is never bad ;)

    Here´s a useful link (I hope) for you: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/

Otherwise, my advice is to 'never change a market system'

  • Upgrade memory on Satellite 1900-803

How do you get the keyboard on this model to upgrade memory?

    Why keyboard remove?
To my knowledge, memory expansion module housing is placed at the bottom of the unit near the fan.
The cover must be secured with a screw. Simply remove the screws and the cover and you will be able to improve memory.

  • Upgrade of RAM video on Satellite C660/C660D

    HY,

Stayes manual that I can improve my video memory dedicated, up to 4 GB, but I can't find this option in Advanced Option or in the Bios, I have a Satellite C660/C660D.

Furthermore, my CPU is supporting 16 GB and my motherboard also, why can't I put on 16?, because in the manual it says that 8!

    Kind regards

    r

I don't know what model you have exactly, but video Ram cannot be upgraded directly. All you can do is upgrade RAM. With more RAM, more memory will be used for graphical operations.
