Whats means "data prefetch deleted xp?

Just happen suddenly. My computer is running slow slow. When run maintence, (avg tune up), it says "data prefetch deleted.

AVG Tune Up can not solve the problem.

Any help idea is very well appreciated.

Thank you

Glkrrera

prefetch is a folder in Windows to keep a copy so that windows can load programs, etc. faster

they have been cleared and will now need to be implemented again, Prefetch is deleted by windows with the oldest, removed as a continuous process

do not clean prefetch and you'd better uninstall AVG tune up.

    Original title: remove programs

I think I have a virus.  I see on my computer a few applications with and installed as of 2004.  The computer was purchased in 2007.  When I run it in safe mode, it works fine and all applications have a date of 2007 or newer.  Should I delete the programs of 2004? How can you know what is safe to delete?

    Hello

This is not an indication of malware. Could be those are placed on the
computer by the manufacturer of the system and that was the date that firstly, they prepared their
for massive installation, or if they did not set a date and be used arbitrarily.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
    cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

  • Data being deleted on my external HARD drive when I copy it

I have a hard drive of 160 GB extertnal USB and when I copy new data he deletion of old data. What's wrong with it and how can I stop it delete all my old data?

    Neil

    HI Neil,

The only way, your data can be removed is if you copy new data to the same file/folder name to him and then click 'Yes' or 'Yes to all' in the warning box that appears informing you that the file/folder already exists.

If you use a third party application to do the copy for you (such as bckup/restore utility) then this will also have a similar warning window if such a situation arises, and you also have to confirm that you want to overwrite your existing data.

Short of a malfunction of the external hard drive, there are no circumstances in which the operating system can 'accidentally' too write your data.

    Kind regards

  • Could you give me a list of what is safe to delete Windows XP?

Could you give me a list of what is safe to delete Windows XP?

This isn't a list of "programs".  This is a list of files and folders which many (more?) are Windows system files that should not be deleted.

You can Google these names as easily as possible, although some names are completely ambiguous without the rest of the way - for example, _default and configuration could be anything. Panther looks like it is related to your Mac.

You must uninstall programs ONLY by using the control panel > add / remove software.  Do not delete random files and folders.

Download and run JDiskReport... and then you can see what's worth worrying in terms of size.

If your Windows system is running slowly, it is quite possible that you have been infected by malicious software.  What antivirus application on side Windows do you use?  His subscription is up to date? The subscription has already lapsed?

  • data prefetch file

I want to know about DATA PREFETCH file, which has been inadvertently deleted. It can be restored? How? This affect the performance of the WORD program? If so, how to solve it.

Apparently, it caused problems with WORD 2003 on my PC. No knowledge, experience suggestions should be highly appreciated.

Data Prefetch rebuild itself providing the Task Scheduler service is set to automatic, the Task Scheduler runs a routine every three days it will rebuild the files.

I don't see how this (removing prefetch files) would cause problems with Word 2003 or any other application.  It might make them a little slower to load, but it shouldn't cause any problems with the programs themselves, they do not need the prefetcher to work properly.

The value of the automatic task scheduler and if files don't rebuild on the next reboot, run this command:

    Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll, ProcessIdleTasks

This will force a rebuild of the Prefetch data.

This means that at the time of the design, you have this tag in the range of component as something that you can drag and drop into the page. Also, you do not get the opportunity to use this tag if you drag a collection of data control palette.
But you can go in the page source code editor and type and use the tag.

This file stores a list of files from previous version of Firefox that are no longer needed or supported in the current version of Firefox. This file is only a few KB and it is best not to delete files in the Firefox program folder to avoid update problems. If the required files are missing or modified with a update Firefox will download the full version (approximately 10 MB) instead of a small incremental update which is usually only a few hundred KB.

    Hello

HD 720 p means a television screen resolution high definition. It has a resolution of 1280 x 768.
I think this definition means that your laptop supports this from the screen and higher resolution.

  • What is order "prefetch hidden junk files" in fact?

I obviously did not do because I knew it was a scam right away.

But my question is, what is he still doing this command?

The part of prefetch would display only your Prefetch folder. This is used by Windows to speed up your computer startup. The part 'hidden junk files' is meaningless. The scammer you to type only asked that as part of his attempt to deceive believe you there is something wrong with your computer. He awaits for you are not familiar with the contents of the Prefetch folder and try to convince you that what you see is evidence of a virus. Another tactic they use is to make you open Event Viewer, and then claim that normal Windows system events are the result of viral infections.

    Hello

When you cut a file and paste it in another location, the file will be moved to this new location, without leaving a copy.  Thus, for example, if you cut a picture of your desktop and paste it in your Documents folder, the image will now be in your Documents folder - see the link below for an explanation.
