I opened the file and got $SystemUpdate (folder). I then double clicked on $SystemUpdate and got su20076000_00000000 (file). I've renamed su20076000_00000000 default.xex. I saved default.xex on a cd using Windows Explorer. I took my cd for my xbox 360 arcade. I turned on my xbox 360 arcade and put the cd in the it. I came up with an error that there was nothiung on the cd. I checked with my laptop and the file is there.

  Why it did not work? Did I miss a step? Is that what your statement wrong? I did something wrong? Also the file (default.xex) is about 7 068 KB not 5 MB.

  I know how to turn subtitles on my Windows Media Center PC, but there is no option to select audio dubbed or subtitled when you use Windows Media Center Extender. All my video files contain subtitles and audio dubbed foreign films.  My wife loves Spanish subtitles, because she has trouble understanding some English films.  I searched some forums and there are questions there but they have no definitive answers.  How a company billions of dollars developing a Media Center and leave out or miss crucial features like these?   Subtitles should be coded in the movie view. These subtitles are automatically playing with video files. If the subtitles are a separate .srt file, then you will not be able to visualize everything by watching a video on the 360. There is no real turn option ON or OFF for subtitle in the Xbox 360.

  I'll have some real problems share my media with my Xbox 360 using my home wireless network.

  I used to connect my 360 to the internet via internet sharing with my laptop connected via Ethernet. I now borrow a wireless adapter for the 360 that still lets connect me to the internet on the 360, but I can no longer access my portable music library or find a PC Windows Media Centre when searching for the network on my 360.

  My laptop is running Windows 7 64 bit. When I display 'network' appears from my own laptop, my second laptop computer connected to the network is also shown, and the 360 is also indicated in the devices section of media. Under 'Options of Streaming Media' my 360 is also listed and given full access to my portable media.

  When my laptop is connected directly to my 360 via Ethernet the music library and video library works great, like Windows Media Center.

  Anyone know of any solution to this problem? I guess it will just be a problem with some settings on my laptop as opposed to a problem with my Xbox. Any advice much appreciated!

  I just bought an Xbox 360 on eBay with a VGA cable which must connect the console directly to the port external monitor on my Qosmio, theoretically allowing me to use the screen on my laptop as screen for my video games.

  So I'm on my second Xbox 360 controller, after my first one refused to work fully. It was working fine before today, but I plug today and note the quadrants of 1st and 4th light up instead of just the first. It doesn't seem to be a problem of recognition: Windows recognizes it as a Xbox 360 controller. I check game controllers in Control Panel, and all the buttons seem to work fine, even the broomstick "buttons". However, the control sticks or the left and right triggers (those mapped to the z axis) will respond. Recalibration does not work. Return to default setting and losing one of the control sticks even the slightest seems to move control sticks and triggers "erratic" and show them that everything is tilted in one direction (which is not go back after the tilt of the control stick (s) in a different direction); This direction is the same every time I reset the default calibration (sorry if this description is a bit vague).

  Well, the controllers have chips in them, and so if yours is fried you won't be able to do great thing by opening it up to the top and have a look.  I think that your only real option is to contact Microsoft to get repair or buy a new controller.  (Or, I suppose, wait for someone to give you a.)  In the future, you might consider buying one of points of sale, so that if you have problems you can return to the store or contact Microsoft for support of the guarantee.
